Fantasy Baseball Weekly Projections: 8 Waiver Wire and Streaming Options to Consider

Let's now look into some fantasy baseball weekly projections to identify some more waiver wire/streaming options for the coming week of play!

Hitters

Ty France - San Diego Padres

France is owned in just 4.41% of fantasy baseball leagues right now, but a hot start after the All-Star break has his weekly projections high. He has seven games scheduled.

He has five hits over three games since the break, and all five hits are extra-base knocks (three home runs and two doubles). France has six RBIs and four runs scored in those games. 

France has a .275 average and .335 on-base percentage over 73 games and 243 plate appearances this season. He has 14 homers, 11 doubles, two triples, 60 total hits, 39 RBIs, 28 runs scored, 13 walks, 55 strikeouts and a stolen base.

He's played pretty well this season when active and starting, and with him hot now, he's on the rise. Give him some consideration in deeper leagues for now, and keep tabs on him if he keeps producing, as he could become a standard league option too.

Ryan Jeffers - Minnesota Twins

Jeffers is back from an injury list stint and back to producing for the Twins. He's projected for a big week and is only owned in 53% of leagues. Jeffers could play up to seven games.

He popped a homer across two hits in the first three games back from the break. Jeffers also had two walks.

Jeffers has a .288 average and .401 OBP across 42 games and 168 plate appearances this season. He has nine doubles, eight homers and a triple among his 40 hits, plus 31 RBIs, 27 runs scored, 26 walks and strikeouts and a stolen base.

The catcher gets daily starts thanks to the designated hitter slot, so he's a good daily fantasy option. I think he's underowned right now, so look into adding him today. Definitely make the move in deeper leagues, and consider him in standard leagues too.

Gabriel Moreno - Arizona Diamondbacks

Moreno is another catcher who is projected for a big week over seven possible games. He's rostered in about 62% of leagues.

He has four hits in the first three games back from the break. He had three runs scored, two walks and an RBI as well.

Moreno has played in 72 games, getting 288 plate appearances so far. He has a .304 average and .389 OBP, plus 33 RBIs, 37 runs scored, 34 walks and 44 strikeouts. He has 15 doubles and six homers across his 75 total knocks, plus has stolen six bases.

The catcher is also getting some starts as the DH, so he's another good daily option. I like him a lot in deeper leagues, and think he's also worth considering in standard leagues, especially when he's producing at the plate, like he is now.

Curtis Mead - Washington Nationals

Mead is owned in 63% of leagues and has six games lined up for the coming week. He has been a pretty good fantasy asset this season.

Mead has five hits and two walks in the first three games after the break. He has scored five times and drove in four runs as well. 

He now has a .256 average and .350 OBP over 83 games and 309 plate appearances this season. Mead has 17 homers, 16 doubles and a triple among his 69 total hits, plus 48 RBIs, 47 runs scored, 35 walks, 58 strikeouts and six stolen bases.

Mead can play first or third base, which bumps his fantasy value up some. He is worth a roster spot in all deeper leagues now, and could be a standard league option as well for those lacking corner infielders.

Chandler Simpson - Tampa Bay Rays

Simpson has seven games scheduled and is projected for a big week. He is owned in about 56% of leagues.

He went hitless in the first game after the break, but posted two-hit games on Saturday and Sunday. Simpson doubled in each game, and also scored twice and stole a base.

Simpson has a .282 average and .316 OBP over 92 games and 366 plate appearances in his second big league season. He has 96 total hits, including 10 doubles and six triples - he's yet to homer. Simpson has 17 RBIs, 41 runs scored, 23 stolen bases, 18 walks and 34 strikeouts.

There's limitations to his game and fantasy value, but with low strikeout totals and big stolen base marks, he's a pretty good fantasy asset. Look into adding Simpson in some standard leagues, while definitely rostering/utilizing him in all deeper leagues.

Pitchers

Jack Flaherty - Detroit Tigers

Flaherty is set to start twice this week. He's owned in nearly 58% of leagues right now.

He will face the Cubs and Royals. Chicago is a so-so matchup, while the Kansas City start is a very favorable one on paper.

Flaherty has a 4.48 earned run average over 18 starts this season, but was trending up before the break. Over his past seven starts, Flaherty has a 2.55 ERA over 35 1/3 innings, and has struck out 43 batters in that span.

Flaherty is a good streaming option because he's trending up of late. The solid matchups this week mean he could be tried in all fantasy leagues, especially for that start against KC.

Janson Junk - Miami Marlins

Junk has two starts scheduled as well, but is only rostered in 5% of leagues.

He's going to make starts against the Astros and Padres. There's big names in each lineup, but both are pretty solid matchups for a streaming pitcher.

Junk has a 4.57 ERA over 12 starts this season, but he too has been a bit better of late. He allowed two runs (one earned) over five innings on June 9, which was his first big league start since late May. Junk has been up and down this season, but in the right matchups, he's a sneaky-good fantasy asset.

Junk is worth streaming in deeper leagues for both of his starts this week. If he looks good against the Astros, he could even be a standard league option against San Diego, especially if the streaming options are limited that day.

Michael Wacha - Kansas City Royals 

Wacha has two starts lined up for the coming week and is sitting at 74% rostered.

He will take on the Giants and Tigers. Both are pretty good matchups for Wacha.

Wacha has a 3.77 ERA over 19 starts so far this season, so he's been pretty good. He has struggled more of late, allowing 10 runs over his past two starts - Wacha allowed two earned runs over 14 2/3 innings in the two starts before that.

Wacha is a veteran who is capable of good starts and fantasy performances, but he's been inconsistent this season. I like his matchups this week and trust him to deliver. He should be trusted and started in all deeper leagues, and he is a pretty good standard league option for each start too, even off a couple poor showings.
