The middle of the work week has arrived, which means we will be going over a third round of fantasy baseball waiver wire options.

Let's start with pitchers here. Check back for a waiver wire article on hitters.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

Walker Buehler - San Diego Padres

Buehler is a streaming option for Wednesday, and has risen to roughly 13% owned as of the time this article was published. He was at just 5% a week ago.

He will make a start today against the Rockies. That's a great matchup, but the game is in Colorado, so things are hampered a bit by that fact.

Buehler is 1-1 across his four starts so far. He's allowed nine runs and sits with a 4.58 earned run average, so he's really on rise due to the matchup. He's given up 16 hits and six walks, while striking out 18 batters over 17 2/3 innings.

I understand why he's on the rise, but Buehler hasn't pitched well enough to try outside some deeper leagues today. He could deliver big, but I'd only be confident enough to try him in deeper leagues.

Payton Tolle - Boston Red Sox

Tolle is up 6.05% and sits at 24.64% overall now. He is on the rise after it was announced that he would be making a start this coming weekend.

Tolle is likely to start between Friday-Sunday against the Orioles. Baltimore is a solid matchup on paper.

Tolle is a highly-regarded prospect, but struggled across seven big league appearances in 2025. He made three starts and pitched 16 1/3 innings. Tolle allowed 12 runs (11 earned) for a 6.06 ERA - he gave up 18 hits and eight walks, while striking out 19 batters.

We'll see if Tolle learned from that experience. I like the matchup enough to try him in some deeper leagues for as long as he's making MLB starts. He could sneak into standard leagues, but he'll need to stick in the rotation after Sonny Gray returns from injury first.

Casey Mize - Detroit Tigers

Mize has been added in 3.24% of leagues, which brings his overall mark to 58.45%.

Mize will be taking on the Brewers on Wednesday. Milwaukee has been up and down offensively this season, but erupted for 12 runs on Tuesday, so it's more an OK matchup.

Mize has made four starts, and three of them have been good - he was tagged for five runs over just 4 1/3 innings in the other outing. Mize is 1-1 with a 2.78 ERA over 22 2/3 innings. He's allowed seven runs on 20 hits and seven walks, while striking out 25 batters.

There's some solid numbers in there, but his WHIP is so-so, and his matchup today isn't the best, so I'm tempering my expectations with Mize. He's another deep-league asset only for me today - I think you can do better in standard leagues.

Louis Varland - Toronto Blue Jays

Varland is up 3.27% and now is owned in 33.61% of leagues overall.

He picked up a save on Tuesday after Jeff Hoffman put several runners on. It was Varland's first save of the season, and he's also got a win, loss and three holds on the year.

Varland has allowed three unearned runs on eight hits and three walks over 13 innings this season. He has 19 strikeouts over his 12 appearances.

The fact that Varland came on for Hoffman is a big deal, and could be a sign of things to come. At the very least, it makes Varland worth adding in some deeper leagues. If Varland keeps getting the save chances, then his own percentage will rise and he could be scooped up in some standard leagues, so keep tabs on him.

Eduardo Rodriguez - Arizona Diamondbacks

Rodriguez has been picked up in 5.59% of leagues. He's rostered in 47.28% overall.

Rodriguez gets the honor of facing the White Sox on Wednesday night. That's about as good of a matchup as a pitcher could have right now.

Rodriguez has started the year strong, allowing just six runs (five earned) over 23 innings in his four starts. He's given up 19 hits and nine walks, while striking out 14.

His 1.96 ERA and 1-0 record are good marks, but he is coming off his worst start of the season - he allowed four runs over five innings in that one. Rodriguez's WHIP is high and his strikeouts are low, which is why he isn't rostered in more fantasy leagues.

I like the matchup enough to try Rodriguez in deeper leagues, and he's a standard league option too, but not a must-start pitcher in those leagues. He should be able to at least deliver average fantasy marks in this matchup though.

Chase Dollander - Colorado Rockies

Dollander is up 4.15%, which brings his overall mark to 13.73%.

Dollander made a start on Tuesday, so he's on the rise for good pitching in that one, not because he's a streaming option today. He worked six innings against San Diego last night, allowing a run on three hits and one walk, while punching out nine batters.

That was his best outing of the season - I say outing because he's been a bulk reliever for all six of his appearances. Over 25 innings, Dollander has allowed eight runs on 18 hits and seven walks. He's struck out 32 batters already.

Dollander is trending up, and flying under the radar as he's not even starting games. The young pitcher was highly touted coming up to the big leagues, and is starting to flash some high upside. Add him in some deeper leagues, and be ready to stream/hold him in more and more leagues if the good results keep coming.
