Weekly Fantasy Baseball Projections & Waiver Wire Targets
Maximize your lineup with smart adds, favorable matchups, and two-start pitching options.
A new week is here, so it's time to go over some fantasy baseball weekly projections and highlight some waiver wire/streaming options.
I have a handful of hitters and pitchers to discuss, so let's get right to it!
Weekly fantasy baseball projections can be found on FantasySP all season! Daily projections are also available!
Kevin McGonigle - Detroit Tigers
McGonigle is owned in about 85% of fantasy leagues, which is the cutoff point I'm going to use today. He has seven games on the schedule this week.
In his first nine big league games, McGonigle has a .303 average and .310 on-base percentage over 39 plate appearances. He has three doubles and a triple among his 10 knocks, plus five RBIs and runs scored, six walks and only five strikeouts.
He's looked good in the early going, and looks to be living up to the hype surrounding him. I'm surprised he isn't owned in more leagues already, so if he's still available in your leagues, find a way to get him added before it's too late.
Mickey Moniak - Colorado Rockies
Moniak has seven games scheduled as well. He is rostered in just 15% of fantasy leagues right now.
He missed the start of the season while on the injured list, but has looked good in his first three games back. Moniak homered twice on Sunday and has three hits over nine plate appearances so far. He has driven in two runs, scored three times, not walked yet and struck out twice.
Moniak had a bit of success last year in Colorado, and looks like he could deliver good marks again in 2026. He might not be someone to roster and utilize in all fantasy leagues, but he's worth some adds and utilization in deeper leagues at least.
Garrett Mitchell - Milwaukee Brewers
Mitchell has six games lined up for the week. He's risen to 16% owned.
Across his first eight games and 27 plate appearances, Mitchell has a .318 average and .423 OBP. He has a homer and three doubles among his seven hits, while also walking four times. Mitchell has 11 RBIs, four runs scored, three stolen bases and 10 strikeouts.
There's a lot to like in those numbers for the oft-injured outfielder. With Jackson Chourio out with an injury, Mitchell has a better chance to play every day. He could settle into a platoon when the Brewers are healthier, but as his bat is hot and he's producing, Mitchell is worth rostering/utilizing in more fantasy leagues.
Jameson Taillon - Chicago Cubs
Taillon is rostered in 24% of fantasy leagues right now. He is scheduled to make two starts this week.
He has made just one start this season so far, but looked solid in that one. Taillon worked 4 2/3 innings, not allowing a run on two hits and four walks. He struck out three batters.
Taillon has been a solid fantasy option, but a lack of strikeouts holds him back from being a bigger fantasy asset. Matchups against the Rays and Pirates this week are a chance for Taillon to deliver big fantasy marks, so consider streaming him for both starts, at least in deeper leagues.
TJ Rumfield - Colorado Rockies
Rumfield is sitting at about 17% owned right now. He also has seven possible games he could play in this week.
He's another Rockie excelling early on. Rumfield has a .345 average and .406 OBP over nine games and 32 plate appearances. He has two home runs and a double among his 10 knocks, plus five RBIs, four runs scored, three walks and seven strikeouts.
He's getting a chance to play daily, and he's clearly enjoying hitting in hitter-friendly Colorado. The team might not be great, but guys like Rumfield and Moniak can still help fantasy teams out. Consider adding Rumfield in some deeper leagues for as long as he's hitting.
Carter Jensen - Kansas City Royals
Jensen has seven possible games he could play in, as long as he doesn't oversleep again. He's rostered in 32% of fantasy leagues at the moment.
In eight games and 23 plate appearances so far, Jensen has just a .200 average and .261 OBP. He has a double and home run among his four hits, plus four RBIs, two runs scored and walks and nine strikeouts.
Those aren't great results, but at a weaker fantasy spot, Jensen has a bit more value. He is coming off his best game of the season, so maybe he is at the start of a hot streak. Consider adding him in deeper leagues, and don't lose track of him for a possible standard league add down the line.
Noah Cameron - Kansas City Royals
Cameron is rostered in 52% of leagues at the moment. He also is likely to make two starts this week on the hill.
The Guardians and White Sox are the teams he'd face if he makes two starts. Those are favorable matchups, so it makes a lot of sense to add/stream Cameron for the entire week.
In his first start of the year, Cameron got a win after allowing a run on four hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out five batters along the way.
I'm surprised he isn't more rostered after some good results in 2025 as well. Get Cameron on your team for the week, and if he keeps pitching well, keep rostering him for the year.
Daylen Lile - Washington Nationals
Lile sits at 68% owned right now. He could play up to six games this week.
Across nine games and 42 plate appearances, Lile has a .300 average and .333 OBP. He has 12 hits, including three doubles, along with three RBIs, seven runs scored, two walks and five strikeouts.
Lile was a good fantasy asset in his time in the big leagues in 2025, so again, I'm a bit surprised his own percentage isn't higher with him. Take advantage of that and add Lile for free today. There's a lot to like in his game, and it translates pretty well in fantasy.
Ramon Laureano - San Diego Padres
Laureano is sitting at 50% owned right now. He could play up to seven games this week.
In eight games and across 33 plate appearances so far, Laureano has a .258 average and .303 OBP. He has a double and two home runs among his eight knocks. Laureano also has five RBIs, three runs scored, a stolen base, two walks and six strikeouts so far.
Laureano has been a pretty solid fantasy asset over the years, and he can be a standard leaguer for stretches too. He hasn't hit that hot streak yet, but I do like adding and utilizing him in some deeper leagues right now. Keep tabs on him for a possible standard league add later in the season.
Casey Mize - Detroit Tigers
Mize is rostered in 54% of fantasy leagues at the moment. He too will be making two starts on the mound this week, as long as he avoids injuries.
He is set to face the Twins and Marlins. On paper, those are both pretty solid matchups, so Mize could be in for a couple good outings.
In Mize's first start of 2026, he took a no decision despite striking out nine batters over six strong innings. He allowed one run on four hits and two walks.
I like his matchups this week, and how he pitched in his first start. That makes him someone to stream in deeper leagues for both matchups this week. I also wouldn't be opposed to streaming him in standard leagues for both starts.
