Grab These Sunday Fantasy Baseball Pitching Streamers Now: Kodai Senga is Must-Start
Five starting pitchers with good matchups on Sunday who are widely available in fantasy leagues.
Happy Easter! There aren't many major holidays in the spring, and Easter is really the big one that carries us through until Memorial Day, which many see as the unofficial start of summer (depending on which state you live in).
We're only 10 days into the baseball season, so even the numbers we have don't tell us a great story, but at least it's something. Those teams at the top of their respective divisions can hold onto the early hope that hot stretches bring, particularly when there is nothing else to go on.
Moving to fantasy baseball, let's look at five starting pitchers in action on Sunday who have good matchups and are widely available in fantasy leagues. Most stats are from MLB.com, as are the probable pitchers. The full streamer rankings are listed at the bottom.
Use FantasySP's injury report to keep up with the players who are missing time with various maladies.
Braxton Ashcraft, Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Baltimore Orioles
Chris Bassitt, Baltimore Orioles @ Pittsburgh Pirates
We'll start with a game in which we can target both teams, as the Pirates were expectedly bad last season, but the Orioles were a surprise bottom-10 team that we kept waiting on to improve, something that never happened. Both teams are middling or better in most offensive box stats so far in 2026, but we'll keep targeting them for now until we get more information on everyone.
Ashcraft made his debut last season, throwing 69 2/3 innings with average-or-better walk and strikeout rates and an ERA of just 2.71. In his first start this year, he went six innings with four hits, two runs, four walks, and three strikeouts. Ashcraft did decent strikeout work in the minors, so we can expect him to find some success, though it likely won't be as good as his abbreviated 2025 numbers.
The 37-year-old Bassitt has generally been average or better with both walks and strikeouts in his career, and he has allowed fewer than one hit per inning with a career ERA of 3.65, showing plenty of sustained success up to and including last season. In his first start this year, he gave up six hits and four runs in 4 1/3 innings with four walks and three strikeouts, a bit of a rough outing in which he picked up the loss against Texas.
Both Ashcraft and Bassitt are low-to-mid-level streamers today with some upside. They both have previous success to different degrees, but it's worth noting that the Pirates and Orioles look at least decent early in the season.
Eric Lauer, Toronto Blue Jays @ Chicago White Sox
Lauer was slated to start yesterday but got bumped one day because he was dealing with an illness. He has been successful throughout his career, including last year, when he gave up just 90 hits in 104 2/3 innings with a 3.18 ERA and better-than-average walk and strikeout rates (after a 2024 split between AAA and the Korean league). Lauer picked up the win in his first start against the Athletics, striking out nine batters in 5 1/3 innings.
The White Sox entered the season as one of our top streaming targets. They have been below average in most offensive areas in 2026, showing some home run power but also striking out a ton. They remain a top target.
Lauer is a mid-to-high-level streamer. His recent success combined with the great matchup sets him up for a possible big game here.
Roki Sasaki, Los Angeles Dodgers @ Washington Nationals
Washington ranks in the top 10 in most offensive box stats, showing offensive prowess so far. Despite their poor 2025 numbers, there was intrigue heading into the season because the Nationals have a lot of young, highly-regarded offensive players. So far, they have been able to put together a strong performance, maybe leading to them falling off our target list soon.
Sasaki entered the league last season to much fanfare, and while he showed promise, he also struggled at times and missed over four months with injury before returning to work out of the bullpen in the playoffs. After a rough Spring, Sasaki was OK in his first start, allowing four hits and one run in four innings with two walks and four strikeouts.
Sasaki is a low-level streamer. His performance in MLB has been uneven, and with the matchup possibly being a bad one, it's probably best to skip him this time around.
Kodai Senga, New York Mets @ San Francisco Giants
Senga has thrown 291 career innings, doing very well limiting hits (227) and homers (one every 9.7 innings). He also has a very good strikeouts rate, though he has walked too many guys. Senga is owned in about 50% of leagues and might not stay on the streaming list long if he keeps finding success; he had nine Ks with two runs allowed in six innings in his first start.
After getting shut out yesterday for the third time this season, the Giants are now averaging just 2.7 runs per game. Last year's lowest-scoring team, the Pirates, averaged 3.6 runs per game. San Francisco is one of the best targets early in 2026 and a team we will continue going after whenever possible, particularly when they play at home.
Senga is a high-level streamer here. He has shown success in the past (along with a few shaky stretches), and the matchup couldn't be much better based on 2026 numbers. Senga should be in a lineup in every league today.
