Looking at a few waiver wire pitchers and hitters to consider adding in fantasy baseball leagues.

I have another fantasy baseball waiver wire story for you today.

Let's look at three pitchers and two hitters.

Check out the top fantasy baseball waiver wire options everyday on FantasySP.

Should You Add Sean Burke?

Burke is up 4.94% and is rostered in 19.75% of fantasy leagues right now.

Burke is a streaming option on Sunday. He'll be facing the Angels in an afternoon tilt. He faced them back in his first appearance of the season, earning a win after working six scoreless innings - he allowed three hits and no walks, while striking out three batters.

He has a 4-8 record over 21 appearances this season. Burke has a 4.17 earned run average over 105 2/3 innings. He's allowed 59 runs (49 earned) on 101 hits and 48 walks, while striking out 93 batters.

Over his five appearances in July, he allowed two or less runs on four occasions. He was tagged for six runs in the other outing. Burke had at least five strikeouts in all but one of those starts (the six-run outing). So while he's mostly been good of late, his blowup outings can really be rough.

The matchup today is a good one on paper. He excelled in a start against LA, but that was also months ago, and a lot has changed since then. I'm not expecting that good of a start, but he's a popular option for the day and should deliver solid numbers.

Burke is a good deep-league streaming option today, but not a must-start pitcher. He also could get some standard league streams if there's not many other options out there that you like.

Should You Add Jordan Beck?

Beck has been trending up a bit of late and sits at 30% rostered now.

He had two hits, including a homer, on Saturday. He has six hits over his past five contests, with two homers among the knocks. Beck has five RBIs, four runs scored, five walks and five strikeouts in that stretch.

Over 98 games and 362 plate appearances this season, Beck has a .276 average and .336 on-base percentage. He has 100 total hits, including 19 doubles, 13 homers and five triples. Beck also has 40 RBIs, 49 runs scored, 30 walks, 12 stolen bases and 110 strikeouts.

The outfielder has seen his own percentage rise and fall as he goes in and out of hot/cold stretches this season. He's heating up at the plate a bit of late, so it's fair to see him being added. If you are about adding the hottest hitters, Beck is a solid waiver target in deeper leagues.

He's at a stacked fantasy position, so there's also plenty of options to go around. If you are looking for a long-term option, then I'd suggest skipping Beck and looking elsewhere. We know about where he tops out, and that's been a deep-league player so far.

So while he's fine to add in some deeper leagues if you need the outfield help, I'd actually prefer to grab someone else with higher upside. Maybe that hitter hasn't delivered as often as Beck, but they could have a higher ceiling in the long run.

Should You Add Colin Rea?

Rea has been added in 4.12% of leagues and is owned in 34.16% overall now.

He's making a start against the depleted Orioles today. This will be his first start against Baltimore this season.

Rea has an 8-5 record and one save over 106 innings this season. He's made 18 starts over 22 appearances and has a 4.25 ERA so far. Rea has allowed 52 runs (50 earned) on 112 hits and 28 walks, while striking out 75 batters.

Rea allowed four runs over four innings against the Brewers his last time out. He also took a loss against the Royals before that, allowing six runs (five earned) over five innings.

Rea allowed one or two runs in the previous four appearances before that. He has between 2-5 strikeouts in his past six outings.

So it's again another pretty favorable matchup on paper, but a streaming pitcher who hasn't pitched all that well, especially of late. That makes him an OK deep-league fantasy asset, but not a must-start pitcher.

He's been trending down of late, so I'm more skeptical of streaming Rea today. Rea could still deliver solid numbers, which is why he's a heavily-sought after streaming target today, but I'd really try to avoid him in leagues deeper than standard setups.

Should You Add Trevor Story?

Story is trending back up again and currently sits at 70%.

He is riding a four-game hitting streak, and has seven hits over that span. Story has three homers and four doubles for the hits, so he's been an extra-base machine. He also has seven RBIs, six runs scored, two walks and five strikeouts in that stretch, while also stealing a base.

Story has played in 108 games and gotten 414 plate appearances this season. He has a .254 average and .297 OBP, along with 68 RBIs, 58 runs scored, 22 walks, 18 stolen bases and 126 strikeouts. Story has 19 doubles and 18 home runs among his 105 total hits.

The shortstop has had some red-hot stretches this season, and might be at the start of another one of those. His cold stretches have been brutal at times, which explains why his own percentage is where it is overall.

Story has been a solid fantasy asset most of the season though. He's closer to SS20 than SS10, so his own percentage makes a lot of sense.

I'm a fan of streaming Story in standard leagues when he's hot at the plate. Now is one of those times, so add him and utilize him until his bat cools back off.

Story should remain rostered in deeper leagues for the rest of the season, unless he gets injured or goes into an extremely cold stretch again.

Should You Add Joey Cantillo?

Cantillo got a 3.29% boost today, bringing his overall mark up to 13.58%.

He will be another streaming option today, taking on the dismantled Twins in an afternoon matchup. This will be Cantillo's third appearance against Minnesota this season.

He worked 2 1/3 innings in one appearance against the Twins, not allowing a hit or run, while walking two and striking out four. Cantillo got two outs in the other appearances, while allowing a hit and walk and striking out one.

Cantillo has worked up to a starter of late, and has worked at least four innings in four straight outings. He's allowed one run once, going five innings against the Orioles in that appearance. He allowed two hits and four walks, but struck out five.

Cantillo allowed three or four runs in the other three appearances in that stretch. He struck out four batters his last time out, but had six and seven strikeouts in the other outings in that stretch.

Overall, Cantillo has a 2-1 record, a save and a hold over 26 appearances and five starts. He's covered 50 innings and sits with a 4.14 ERA, allowing 28 runs (23 earned) on 44 hits and 28 walks. Cantillo has struck out 63 batters so far.

The matchup is favorable today, so I see why he's a streaming option. He's pitched OK of late, but has a little strikeout upside. Cantillo's fantasy ceiling is also capped, so he's not a must-start option even in deeper leagues.

I'm fine giving him a start in deeper or standard setups, but prefer to only start him in deeper leagues. He could turn in decent results today, but with a limited ceiling, he's not worth the risk in most standard leagues.
