Looking at several fantasy baseball drop candidates near the end of the week.

After checking in on some fantasy baseball waiver wire hitters and pitchers, along with some more streaming pitchers, it's time to go over some drop candidates.

We won't cover anyone who appeared in drop articles on Monday and Wednesday.

More droppable player data can be located on the waiver wire trends most dropped tab, which can be found on any fantasy baseball page here at FantasySP.

Should You Drop Kristian Campbell?

Campbell is down 1.9% today and sits at 37% overall.

He was sent back to the minor leagues after struggling at the plate over the past several weeks. Campbell started the season strong, but faded fast.

Over 67 games and 263 plate appearances, Campbell has a .223 average and .319 on-base percentage. He has 10 doubles and six homers among his 51 total knocks, along with 21 RBIs, 24 runs scored, two stolen bases, 29 walks and 72 strikeouts.

If he's not playing in the big leagues, Campbell doesn't have much fantasy value in redraft leagues. He should have already been dropped in all deeper leagues, and outside the deepest redraft leagues, Campbell should be dropped in most redraft setups.

He's likely to be called back up later this season, at which point his own percentage will soar again. Campbell will need to prove himself before he gets back in standard leagues though.

Of course, you should still keep rostering Campbell in dynasty/keeper leagues. He's just 22 years old (nearly 23) and has a very bright future ahead of him yet. Hopefully he's able to figure things out in Triple-A and be a big-time fantasy asset when he's called back up.

Should You Drop Evan Carter?

Carter is at 47% rostered right now - he was at 50% two days ago.

Carter has gone hitless over his past three games and has just one hit over his last six games and 15 plate appearances. He has a walk and run scored in that span, but no RBIs and two punchouts.

He was red hot before that stretch, but everyone should have known he was going to cool off. Unfortunately, Carter's cold stretches often look like this - even having three or four hits in that stretch would result in him not being dropped.

Carter is a better deep-league option for the time being, and that might not change this season. I'd do my best to roster him in those leagues, but understand if you have to drop him in order to get production of that roster spot.

He's a standard league streaming option when he's right at the plate, but he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a short-term add in those cases.

Should You Drop Jameson Taillon?

Taillon is down 2.1% and sits at 91% overall.

He was rocked by the Brewers on Thursday, taking a loss after working just four innings. He allowed five runs on eight hits and a walk, while striking out just two.

It was one of his worst starts of the season, and put a damper on what's been a strong stretch of pitching, and good season overall. Taillon is 7-4 with a 3.84 ERA over 86 2/3 innings. He's allowed 38 runs (37 earned) on 73 hits and 17 walks, while striking out 67 batters.

He excelled to a 3.27 ERA last season, so fantasy owners were hoping he could stick near his ERA (it was 3.48 before Thursday's start). He's closer to his 3.89 career mark now, which is where I'd expect Taillon to finish this season.

Taillon does OK strikeout work, and his WHIP could regress a bit from his current 1.04 mark to his career mark of 1.20 over time. That likely means his own percentage will drop somewhere in the 70s or low 80s.

So I think Taillon should be dropped in a few more standard leagues. I'd look into trading him first, because he's got enough value to at least get you a solid player in return. Keep rostering Taillon in deeper leagues for sure, but now could be a time to sell high.

Should You Drop Abraham Toro?

Toro is down to 28% rostered. He was near 40% just five days ago.

He has two hits over his past five games and 19 plate appearances. Toro singled for both hits, while also tallying an RBI, no runs scored, one walk and five strikeouts in that span.

Toro has started four straight games for Boston, and hit fifth against a lefty and second against three righties. Those are favorable fantasy spots for a hitter to be in, but if Toro isn't producing at the plate, then it's a mute point.

He might have some position versatility that boosts his fantasy value a bit yet, and helps him be rostered in as many leagues as he is. If you need fantasy help now though, you might need to move on from Toro in deeper leagues.

His .297 average and .331 OBP across 32 games and 118 plate appearances this season are still strong numbers, but he's not that great of a fantasy asset and is someone you should have no issues replacing. Toro is worth keeping an eye on in case he heats back up at some point, but for now, he's droppable in most deeper leagues.

Should You Drop Roman Anthony?

I'm sorry to keep picking on the Red Sox, but Anthony is trending down. He's at 70% rostered after topping out at 77% on June 12.

He has just two hits over his first 31 big league plate appearances. Anthony's last hit was a homer, which is when he got a nice boost in his own percentage.

Anthony had a double for his other hit, and that came in his second game on June 10. He has four RBIs, a run scored and stolen base, three walks and eight strikeouts as well this season.

He's the No. 1 prospect in baseball, but he's struggled to get rolling in his first taste of the big leagues. He needs to produce more in order to get more fantasy love.

Anthony probably shouldn't be rostered in standard leagues. If you have high hopes for the youngster, then stashing him still makes some sense. Bench him until he heats up, but make sure you don't need him to be productive in order to have immediate fantasy success.

He's worth rostering still in deeper redraft leagues, and dynasty/keeper leagues of course. Anthony probably should be benched in most of the leagues he's owned in though.

Hopefully his bat heats up soon, otherwise he might join Campbell back in Triple-A.

Should You Drop Taj Bradley?

Bradley is down to 59% rostered after being let go in 7.6% of leagues today.

He had a favorable matchup on Wednesday against the Orioles, but was battered for seven runs (six earned) on six hits and a walk over 1 1/3 innings. Bradley struck out two batters and needed 47 pitches to get the four outs.

He's in a rough stretch of outings, allowing at least five runs in three straight outings. Over just 9 1/3 innings, he's allowed 19 runs (13 earned) on 16 hits and seven walks, while striking out nine batters.

Bradley has made 15 starts this season. He sits with a 4-5 record and 4.95 ERA over 80 innings. Bradley's 73 strikeouts are saving him from being a much worse fantasy option.

I was high on Bradley before the season, but he's been really underwhelming and taken a big step back. Of course, he was about on pace with his numbers from last season before these past three starts.

Hopefully, Bradley is able to snap out of this funk soon, but he's not a player you can be confident in right now. His next starts against the Royals and Orioles are favorable on paper, but after his recent results, I would only consider him in deeper leagues.

He's lost trade value in standard leagues, and should probably be dropped in all those leagues for now, especially if you need immediate fantasy help. I'd keep rostering Bradley in deeper leagues, but another couple poor outings might lead to him being dropped in those leagues.

We'll keep a close eye on him in his next couple starts. Hopefully he becomes a waiver wire option again and gets off the list of the most-dropped players.
