Top Hitters
Chicago Cubs’ Nico Hoerner and Seattle Mariners’ Julio Rodriguez led the MLB over the weekend with eight hits each.
Hoerner played in four games, with half of his hits being doubles. He also drove in three runs and scored three times, while striking out twice.
Rodriguez singled for all eight of his hits across three games. He drove in three runs, stole two bases and scored twice. Rodriguez struck out twice and was caught stealing once.
Boston Red Sox’s Wilyer Abreu ended the weekend with seven hits, including two doubles and a home run. He drove in four runs and scored three times. Abreu walked three times and struck out just once.
Seattle’s Cal Raleigh and Philadelphia Phillies’ Alec Bohm each homered twice among their six total hits this weekend.
Raleigh drove in five runs and scored three times. He also had a sacrifice hit, one walk and three strikeouts.
Bohm also doubled this weekend while driving in seven runs. He scored four times and struck out once.
Philadelphia’s Trea Turner doubled twice among his six hits and went on to score five times. He drove in three runs, stole a base, walked once and struck out just once.
Arizona’s Diamondbacks’ Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had a double among his six hits. He drove in a run and scored once, while striking out once.
Detroit Tigers’ Kerry Carpenter doubled among his six total hits and drove in four runs. Carpenter scored once, was hit by a pitch and struck out three times.
Baltimore Orioles’ Adley Rutschman was the last hitter to tally six total hits, with one being a homer. Rutschman drove in five, scored two times and struck out on two occasions.
Along with Raleigh and Bohm each homering twice this weekend, Cincinnati Reds’ Tyler Stephenson, Cleveland Guardians’ Josh Naylor, Miami Marlins’ Bryan De La Cruz and Oakland Athletics’ Brent Rooker also belted two homers.
Stephenson drove in five runs this weekend, with the homers being his only hits. He scored three runs, walked three times and struck out three times as well.
Naylor had four total hits, including a double. He drove in seven runs and scored twice, while striking out a pair of times.
De La Cruz had a single aside from his two homers across four games played. He drove in four, scored twice, walked two times and was a strikeout victim eight times.
Rooker’s only hits were the two home runs - each were solo shots. He struck out five times and walked once this weekend.
Naylor and Bohm led the league with their seven RBIs. New York Mets’ Starling Marte and Arizona’s Blaze Alexander each drove in six runs.
Marte doubled and homered among his four total hits, scored four runs and stole two bases. He didn’t draw a walk and struck out three times.
Alexander had three doubles and a homer for his four weekend hits. He scored three runs, walked once and struck out two times.
Arizona’s Eugenio Suarez led the MLB with six runs scored. He had a pair of hits - both singles - walked three times and was hit by two pitches. Suarez drove in a run and struck out three times.
Milwaukee Brewers’ Blake Perkins finished with five runs scored. He doubled three times among his five hits, walked once and was hit by a pitch. Perkins was a strikeout victim twice.
Washington Nationals’ CJ Abrams also scored five times this weekend. He hit for the cycle among his four weekend hits, drove in a run and stole a base. Abrams walked once and struck out twice.
Detroit’s Riley Greene was another player with five runs scored. He walked four times and had a single for his lone weekend hit. Greene struck out two times.
Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani walked five times this weekend, while also posting four hits, including a double and home run. He scored four times, drove in three runs, stole a base and was a strikeout victim three times.
Cincinnati’s Elly De La Cruz also drew five walks and posted four hits, with one being a homer. De La Cruz drove in four, scored four times, stole three bases, was caught stealing once and struck out just once.
