Hey folks. Today, we're diving into the most important waiver wire stretch of the entire fantasy season, where one smart add can be the difference between winning it all or coming up just short. With schedules tightening and every category mattering more than ever, finding players who are producing right now - and still have games left to give - is everything.

We're focusing on two teams with a quiet but meaningful edge this week and into next, including a schedule advantage that could extend into some championship matchups. These players are trending up, seeing opportunity, and stacking points at exactly the right time.

Lastly, we aren't focusing on long-term projections, or sexy highlight reel names. We're tuning into players who can help you down the stretch and offer value based on schedule and deployment. It's the end of the season here folks, so buckle in because this is likely to be the last waiver wire piece of the year. Let's dive in!

Alexander Wennberg - San Jose Sharks

Wennberg is one of those sneaky adds that doesn't jump off the page at first glance, but the recent production tells a completely different story. He's currently riding a seven-game point streak where he's put up nine points, and that kind of momentum this late in the season is exactly what fantasy managers should be chasing. He's not just chipping in either - he's actively driving offense right now.

The role is what really seals this as a high-priority add. He's locked into a top six spot alongside newly added winger Kiefer Sherwood and another hot hand we'll get to next, and more importantly, he's centering the top powerplay unit. That combination of even strength opportunity and powerplay exposure gives him multiple paths to production in every game, which is exactly what you want in a finals matchup.

The schedule is the final piece that pushes this over the top. San Jose has a favourable setup the rest of this week and carries extra value into next week with three more games - a huge edge in leagues where the championship matchup stretches across both weeks. When you combine current form, elevated usage, and schedule advantage, Wennberg checks every box as a must consider add right now.

Wennberg has 18 goals, 35 assists, and 15 powerplay points in 75 games played as a forward. He also has 90 shots on goal, 28 hits, and 87 blocked shots.

William Eklund - San Jose Sharks

Eklund is the other half of this Sharks stack, and he fits perfectly alongside Wennberg as a complementary add with just as much upside. While Wennberg is driving the recent surge, Eklund has been quietly producing at a steady clip and continues to see strong offensive usage in a top six role.

What makes this pairing especially valuable is the shared deployment. Eklund is skating on the same line, which gives you exposure to the same offensive surge, and he's also heavily involved on the powerplay. That kind of overlap is ideal in a finals matchup - when one produces, there's a strong chance the other is in on it, allowing you to double dip on points.

Like Wennberg, Eklund benefits from the same schedule advantage that makes San Jose such an appealing target right now. With games remaining this week and a three-game slate next week, he gives you both immediate help and extended value if your matchup carries over. He may not have the same streak headline, but the role, opportunity, and team context make him just as strong of a play. That said, he has a couple multi-point games in his last few games that is noteworthy.

Eklund has 14 goals, 34 assists, and 14 powerplay points in 72 games played as a forward. He also has 165 shots on goal, 64 hits, and 50 blocked shots.

Connor McMichael - Washington Capitals

McMichael hasn't quite matched the level of production he showed last season, but there's still value here, especially in deeper formats or for managers looking to round out their lineup in the finals. He's holding down a middle six role and continuing to see steady usage, which keeps him relevant even without a headline scoring surge.

What helps his case is the all-around contribution. He's working on the second powerplay unit and brings a bit of category coverage with him, including some physicality and shot blocking. That kind of peripheral production can quietly swing categories in a tight matchup, especially when you're trying to squeeze value out of every roster spot.

There's also a bit of added appeal when you factor in his current linemate, who we'll get to next. For now, McMichael profiles as a short-term depth add - someone you plug in for the rest of the week to stabilize your lineup, add some secondary assists, and chip in across categories while you chase down a championship.

McMichael has 12 goals, 30 assists, and five powerplay points in 75 games played as a forward. He also has 138 shots on goal, 44 hits, and 44 blocked shots.

Pierre-Luc Dubois - Washington Capitals

PLD rounds out this group as a slightly more volatile option, but one that carries real upside if things break right. Like McMichael, he's working in a middle six role and shares that same even strength deployment, which gives you some built in correlation if you decide to use both.

Where PLD separates himself is on the powerplay. Despite a frustrating overall season, he's seeing time on the top unit, and that's exactly the kind of opportunity you chase at this stage. Powerplay usage can quickly override even strength struggles, especially in a short window where a single multi-point night can swing a matchup.

This is less about trusting the season-long production and more about leaning into deployment and schedule. Washington still has games left this week, and if you're looking to maximize every remaining opportunity, Dubois fits as a calculated gamble. He's not the safest play on the board, but the role gives him a path to deliver when it matters most.

Dubois has five goals, 12 assists, and six powerplay points in 27 games played as a forward. He also has 39 shots on goal, 22 hits, and 12 blocked shots.
