Fantasy Football Week 11 Start Decisions Involving Patriots: TreVeyon Henderson, Hunter Henry, Stefon Diggs and More
Looking over some fantasy football start/sit decisions involving Patriots' players.
We just went over the Jets' fantasy football options (or lack thereof) for Thursday night's game, and now will discuss the options for the Patriots.
We will pull the trending decisions off the start/sit tool here at FantasySP. Let's get right to it!
Having trouble deciding who to start? Let the FantasySP start/sit tool help you make a decision.
TreVeyon Henderson Start Decisions
Henderson is part of the most trending start/sit decisions, so we'll kick things off talking about him.
Henderson has been cleared to play and will lead the backfield with Rhamondre Stevenson out with his toe injury again. Without Stevenson around last week, Henderson went for 147 rushing yards and two scores on 15 carries, while adding in a three-yard catch.
I have Henderson ranked 23rd this week, and I'd be willing to move him up a bit now that Stevenson isn't around and Henderson doesn't have an injury designation at all.
Henderson is part of trending start/sit decisions with Chase Brown, Rico Dowdle, Breece Hall, Javonte Williams, Quinshon Judkins and Kyren Williams.
Dowdle ranks seventh among RBs for me, while Javonte Williams is 10th. I have Kyren Williams in 11th, Judkins in 14th, Brown in 17th and Hall 21st, so I prefer the non-Patriot each time.
Fantasy owners like Henderson over Brown, but are starting both guys 49% of the time. While I prefer Brown this week, I wouldn't mind starting both guys this week, as both lead backs could have nice fantasy showings.
Dowdle is preferred over Henderson, with both backs starting 72% of the time. This one is an easy choice in my eyes, but again, I'd be fine starting both.
Hall is preferred over Henderson between the two Thursday night backs - both are starting 73% of the time. It's a toss up really if you have both backs and can only start one - I'd be fine starting both for week 11.
Henderson is barely preferred over Javonte Williams, with both guys starting 63% of the time. I disagree with fantasy owners on this one, and believe Williams is the clear better choice here.
Judkins is barely preferred over Henderson - it's so close that it could flip before I even publish this story. Both backs are being started 46% of the time. I like Judkins a bit more, but understand why it's a tight decision.
Kyren Williams is preferred over Henderson, but both running backs are starting 68% of the time. This is another easy decision if you have to choose between the two, but I'd be OK starting both if your roster sets up that way.
Hunter Henry Start Decisions
Henry is a bit of a surprising name among the trending decisions. I have him ranked 13th for the week, so he's close enough to the top 10 to make him a worthwhile starting asset in standard leagues.
He's in trending decisions with Mark Andrews, Theo Johnson, Colston Loveland and Dalton Schultz. I have Schultz way up at No. 8 this week, while Johnson is 12th. I have Henry over Andrews (15th) and Loveland (19th).
Fantasy owners like Henry over Andrews, and are starting both guys 24% of the time. I like Henry to start over Andrews, and would prefer to only start one of them in standard leagues.
Johnson is preferred over Henry, with both starting just 9% of the time. Again I agree with fantasy owners, and would try to skip Henry if I had both these guys in a standard league, instead trying another flex option.
Henry is preferred over Loveland, with both starting 21% of the time. I think Henry is the much safer play, and would only start both guys in deep fantasy setups.
Henry is the preferred choice over Schultz for week 11, with both starting 23% of the time. Here, I disagree with most fantasy owners, and would skip Henry if I rostered both these guys in a standard league - of course, it all depends on who else you could turn to instead of a second tight end.
Drake Maye Start Decisions
Maye has had a stellar season and is in the MVP hunt right now. I have him ranked way up at No. 4 this week, and only behind Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.
Maye is in trending decisions with Jalen Hurts, Jackson, Dak Prescott, Mahomes and Matthew Stafford. In my rankings, Stafford is fifth, Hurts sixth and Prescott 11th.
In two-QB leagues, I'd love starting all these quarterbacks, but if needing to make a choice between them, it's close, and tough.
Fantasy owners list Maye over Hurts, but barely. Maye has been more trustworthy this season, so that's why I like him more this week.
Jackson is starting over Maye most of the time, and I agree with that, although it's closer than you think. As long as Jackson isn't limited by his injury, I think his dual-threat ability gives him the edge over Maye.
Maye is easily preferred over Prescott, and fantasy owners definitely got that right. Prescott is capable of matching or outperforming Maye, but the Pats' QB is way more trustworthy right now.
Maye is surprisingly easily the favorite over Mahomes. I think it should be a closer decision, and I prefer the veteran more, despite him having a tougher matchup.
Maye is also easily preferred over Stafford - again, I think more should be starting Stafford, even though I like Maye a bit more.
You really can't go wrong with most of those decisions, outside the Maye/Prescott one.
Stefon Diggs Start Decisions
Diggs is also part of some trending decisions right now. He is up to No. 18 in my weekly rankings.
He's part of trending decisions with Tez Johnson, Courtland Sutton and Zay Flowers. Johnson isn't ranked in my top 30, while Sutton is 17th and Flowers is 20th.
Fantasy owners easily prefer Diggs over Johnson, as should be the case. However, 39% of fantasy owners are starting both guys, and I'd only do that in deeper leagues. I only have Diggs as a standard league option, and would only start Johnson in some deeper leagues.
Diggs is preferred over Sutton, with both starting 41% of the time. While I like Sutton a bit more, it's really a toss up between the two. I'm expecting a bounceback outing from Sutton, so I get starting Diggs over him. I'm good starting both guys in standard leagues, and definitely am starting both in deeper setups.
Flowers is preferred over Diggs, with both starting 63% of the time. While I prefer Diggs in this decision, it's again very close, so I'm also OK taking Flowers over him. Both are good standard league options, while being even better deep-league assets.
Other Patriot Starting Options
We have covered my favorite fantasy options from the Patriots already, but there's a few others who could be decent options as well.
Mack Hollins is coming off a surprisingly big performance and is a deep-league starting option. He hasn't done a ton this season, but with Kayshon Boutte out again with an injury, there's room for another pass catcher or two to emerge aside Diggs and Henry.
Kyle Williams is another deep-league option to consider with Boutte out. He too was good in week 10. If deciding between the two, I like Hollins over Williams because of how many snaps they each played last week.
DeMario Douglas is another deep-league option capable of delivering a good fantasy score, but after last week's dud, I like Hollins and Williams over him.
I like Diggs as the top Patriots' pass catcher tonight, followed by Henry, Hollins, Williams and Douglas.
I think Henderson took over the backfield last week. Terrell Jennings could factor in a bit if he plays, but a knee injury would make me cautious of trying him in deeper formats. If Jennings doesn't play, maybe D'Ernest Johnson would be worth some deep-league consideration.
