6 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pitching and Hitting Targets to Add Monday

Elmer Rodriguez - New York Yankees

Rodriguez is up 6.77% today, which brings his overall mark to 10.42%.

He will start against the Angels on Monday. That's a really good matchup on paper, so he's a highly-added streaming option for the day.

Rodriguez has made five big league appearances in 2026. Across the five starts, he's 0-1 with a 4.70 earned run average - he's got 16 strikeouts over 12 innings, and hasn't allowed more than three runs in any outing. Rodriguez's fantasy value is hampered as he's reached five innings just once - his last start with a six-inning outing though.

So Rodriguez is trending up, and heading into a good matchup, I like the idea of adding/streaming him today. He's worth holding in some more deeper leagues, especially if he keeps pitching longer, and still faring well. He's just a deep-league option in my eyes, but he could be tried in some standard leagues today, especially on a short day of MLB action.

Coby Mayo - Baltimore Orioles

Mayo has been added in 2.6% of leagues and he now sits at 13.54% overall.

He has a five-game hitting streak going, and has produced six knocks over that span. Mayo has two homers among the hits, plus eight RBIs, six runs scored, a stolen base and walk and seven punchouts.

Mayo is hitting just .218 and getting on base at a .282 clip over 109 games and 362 plate appearances this season, so he's definitely fared better of late. He has 19 homers, 13 doubles and three triples among his 72 total knocks, plus 55 RBIs, 52 runs scored, 25 walks, three stolen bases and 118 strikeouts.

The first/third baseman is another player who is trending up of late, so he's worth adding in more fantasy leagues. Mayo is just a deep-league asset, but in the most critical juncture of the fantasy season, he could also be streamed in some standard leagues if options are thin at those two positions he plays.

Gage Jump - Athletics

Jump has been picked up in 4.96% of leagues - he's at 25.27% overall now.

He gets a start tonight against the Rangers, who are another team you should be targeting with streaming pitchers.

Jump is coming off a strong start, in which he struck out nine batters over 6 1/3 innings. He's 6-8 with a 4.69 ERA over 17 starts and 88 1/3 innings this year - Jump has 97 strikeouts to help offset a lower ERA.

Jump is a solid option for the day, and could be tried in any fantasy leagues, especially on a shorter day of MLB action. I like him best in deeper leagues though, but think he could keep producing well in a good matchup.

Heriberto Hernandez - Miami Marlins

Hernandez is rostered in 32.8% of leagues after a 6.24% increase today.

He went hitless on Sunday, but has produced daily most of this month. Dating back to August 8, Hernandez has 18 hits and 11 walks over 84 plate appearances. He has six homers and two doubles among his hits, plus 15 RBIs, nine runs scored, 11 walks, two stolen bases and 26 strikeouts.

Hernandez now has a .232 average and .312 OBP over 105 contests and 391 plate appearances this season. He has 14 doubles, 22 homers and a triple among his 81 total hits, plus 58 RBIs, 40 runs scored, 39 walks, 10 stolen bases and 107 strikeouts.

The outfielder can be a sneaky-good fantasy asset, and he's been just that most of this month. He's worth deep-league adds, or consideration at the very least. I'd think there are better standard league options out there, but he's one to again consider.

Bryce Elder - Atlanta Braves

Elder is owned in 64.4% of leagues as he gets ready to make a start on Monday.

He will get a start against the Giants, who are a pretty good streaming target. Elder is trending up a bit too, so that helps his cause today. He's allowed just four runs over his past two starts, which have spanned 12 innings.

Elder is 8-7 with a 3.95 ERA over 25 starts this season. He has 118 strikeouts over 143 2/3 innings, so the lack of strikeouts holds him back a bit.

Elder is a really solid deep-league option for today, and most times. He's not as trustworthy in standard leagues, but in this matchup tonight, I wouldn't mind trying Elder out.

Hector Rodriguez - Cincinnati Reds

Rodriguez is rostered in 10.22% of leagues and is rising as the new week begins.

The 22-year-old rookie has started to figure things out a bit more of late. Rodriguez has 11 hits and three walks over his past 34 plate appearances. He also has posted seven RBIs, eight runs scored and seven strikeouts in that stretch, while popping four homers and a double.

Rodriguez has 68 plate appearances over 19 games overall. He sits with a .230 average and .309 OBP, plus nine RBIs and runs scored, six walks and 15 strikeouts so far. He has four homers and two doubles among his 14 total knocks.

The outfielder is one to definitely be rostering/stashing in dynasty/keeper leagues. He's trending up as a redraft asset as well, but is another who is a better deep-league guy right now. Rodriguez is worth some standard league consideration with the pop he's shown of late though.
