Looking at Chase Petty, Noah Cameron and A.J. Blubaugh as they prepare to make their MLB debuts on Wednesday.

I already went over some fantasy baseball waiver wire options for Wednesday, but wanted to create a separate story on some pitching prospects getting called up.

We'll break each player down individually. We'll talk about Houston's A.J. Blubaugh, Cincinnati's Chase Petty and Kansas City's Noah Cameron.

Check out the top fantasy baseball waiver wire options everyday on FantasySP.

Blubaugh's Fantasy Outlook

Blubaugh has a start against the Tigers on Wednesday. He's barely rostered in any leagues synced through FantasySP at the time of publication.

He's the No. 10 prospect for the Astros. Blubaugh was a seventh-round draft pick in 2022, throws from the right side and is 24 years old.

He has average (50 grades) marks for his fastball, curveball, slider and cutter, with a 55-grade changeup. He's got a 50 for control, yet a 45 overall mark.

Blubaugh has pitched in parts of four minor league seasons now and spent almost all of 2024 in Triple-A. Overall, Blubaugh has a 22-10 record with a 4.02 earned run average. Over 268 1/3 innings, he's got 297 strikeouts, 112 walks and a .241 average against him.

Nothing really stands out with those numbers, and he's been just average so far in AAA this season. In 21 innings, he's allowed 19 hits and 10 walks, while striking out 28 batters and posting a 2-2 record and 3.86 ERA.

He isn't getting a ton of buzz because he isn't a top-end pitching prospect. The Astros seem to like something with the youngster to have him rise to the big leagues as quick as he did though.

Blubaugh has the most fantasy value in dynasty/keeper leagues with his young age. He's a deep-league streaming option in redraft leagues at the start of his big league career.

The matchup against the Tigers isn't too bad, and Blubaugh could deliver decent numbers. He'll be opposing Jackson Jobe, so it's a day for young-and-upcoming pitchers in Houston. I don't love the idea of starting Blubaugh today, but he's a decent option for some really deep-league owners out there.

He might only make one start before being sent back to the minor leagues. If Blubaugh pitches well though, he could retain a spot on the big league team. He's worth keeping tabs on at the very least, but he's a ways away from being a decent fantasy asset.

Petty's Fantasy Outlook

Petty will face the Cardinals in his first-ever MLB start. He's currently rostered in about 5% of fantasy leagues.

He's the team's No. 6 prospect, and is also the No. 99 prospect overall. Petty is 22 years old, was drafted in the first round of the 2021 MLB draft and is a right-handed pitcher.

He has 60 grades for his fastball, slider and cutter, while having a 45-grade changeup. Petty has a 50 mark in control and has an overall mark of 55.

Petty has pitched in parts of five minor league seasons, making 72 starts over 78 appearances. In 331 1/3 innings, Petty has a 12-15 record and 3.45 ERA. He's struck out 325 batters, walked 115 and has a .241 average against him.

He briefly appeared in Triple-A to end last season, and has 23 innings at that level this season. Petty is 0-2 in his starts, but with a solid 3.52 ERA. He's struck out 27 batters, walked nine and has a .233 average against him.

The clash against the Cardinals is a pretty nice one for Petty's fantasy outlook. He's not a must-start pitcher, but being a highly-regarded prospect, Petty is definitely worth some starts.

I'd only consider starting the youngster in deep redraft leagues. He's worth tracking for standard league owners in case he excels in his first taste of the big leagues. He's most valuable in dynasty/keeper leagues right now.

The Reds are playing a doubleheader on Wednesday, so Petty could be sent down immediately after his start. He'll be back up later in the season if he does get sent right back down though, so he's worth watching in this start for possible streaming slots when he returns to the big leagues.

Cameron's Fantasy Outlook

Cameron will make his MLB debut against the Rays on Wednesday evening. He's owned in 2% of fantasy leagues at the time of publication.

He's the Royals' No. 5 prospect. Cameron is a left-handed pitcher who was drafted in the seventh round of the 2021 draft. He's 25 years old.

Cameron has a 60-grade changeup, along with a 55 mark for his curveball and control. He's got a 50-grade fastball and cutter, while also being graded a 50 overall.

He's played in parts of four minor league seasons since being drafted. Cameron has a 16-21 record and 3.92 ERA across 324 innings. He's struck out 407 batters, walked just 95 and has a .247 average against him.

He split his season between AA and AAA in 2024, and has logged 22 1/3 innings in Triple-A to kick off 2025. Cameron is 2-0 with a 3.22 ERA this season. This season, he has 27 strikeouts, eight walks and just a .188 average against him.

Cameron is making a spot start for Cole Ragans, so he too might get sent back down, regardless of how he fares today. The Rays are a favorable matchup for pitchers, so streaming Cameron in some deeper leagues makes sense. It'd have to be a pretty deep league for me to really want to stream him though.

He's got more value in dynasty/keeper leagues as well. Cameron would have to pitch well to not only keep his MLB rotation spot, but also become a fantasy asset. He's worth keeping tabs on at the very least.
