Taylor Clarke serves as a reliable setup bridge for the second-place Diamondbacks

Clarke has been a workhorse for the Arizona bullpen lately, appearing in four games over the last two weeks. While he navigated a rough patch with a 6.43 ERA and 2.14 WHIP in that span, he recently earned two wins and a hold, maintaining his status as the primary setup option in front of closer Paul Sewald. He remains a vital cog for a Diamondbacks team that holds a 51-48 record and sits second in the NL West, especially with the pitching staff currently missing key starters Zac Gallen and Michael Soroka due to injury.

Under the hood, Clarke is putting together a career-best campaign, currently sporting a 2.76 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP through 44 appearances. This production is significantly better than our season projection of a 4.43 ERA, though his strikeout rate has dropped to a career-low 5.52 K/9. While his low walk rate suggests he can continue to limit damage, some regression is likely if he continues to allow hits at his recent 14-day pace, though he remains a stable source of holds for fantasy managers in deep formats.

Arizona faces a full seven-game schedule this week, including a home series against the Athletics and road trips to St. Louis and Washington. The early-week matchups are particularly enticing, as the Diamondbacks face high-ERA starters like Jeffrey Springs and Jack Perkins, which should provide Clarke with several late-inning leads to protect. Even with a more difficult weekend matchup against Foster Griffin, the sheer volume of games makes Clarke a high-priority roster piece in leagues that value holds. Hold.
