Tight End Options
Should You Add Colston Loveland?
Loveland had a big game on Sunday night, going for 94 yards and a touchdown on six receptions and 10 targets. It was his second-best fantasy showing of the season.
He will face Detroit in week 18. Loveland had no catches on just one target against the Lions back in week 2. I think Loveland will fare better this time around, especially with several wideouts on the Bears' roster banged up.
It's a slightly above-average matchup on paper.
Should You Add Jake Tonges?
Tonges delivered with George Kittle out with an injury, grabbing seven of his nine targets for 60 yards and a score. If Kittle is out again in week 18, Tonges could be a sneaky-good fantasy option again.
He will be going up against the Seahawks, who he had 15 yards and a score against on three catches and targets way back in week 1.
The matchup is a pretty good one, so fire up Tonges if Kittle misses another game, and maybe even consider Tonges if Kittle plans to be out there.
Should You Add Michael Mayer?
Mayer stepped in for the injured Brock Bowers and delivered 89 yards on nine catches and 10 targets. It was his best fantasy outing of the year.
He will be taking on the Chiefs in week 18. He had a 10-yard catch across two targets against KC back in week 7.
Kansas City is a tougher matchup for a fantasy tight end, but down Bowers and with not many other notable pass catchers on the roster, Mayer could deliver big for a second straight week.
Should You Add Greg Dulcich?
Dulcich went for 58 yards and a score on five grabs and six targets in week 17. Fellow Miami tight end Darren Waller had a catch for no yards across three targets.
Dulcich has been somewhat involved since joining the Dolphins, but this week was easily his best showing.
He will be facing the Patriots in week 18. New England is a slightly above-average matchup for a tight end, so maybe Dulcich could surprise again next week.
Should You Add Chig Okonkwo?
Okonkwo tallied 55 yards and a score across three receptions and seven targets in week 17. It was his second-best outing of the season, only behind his week 16 showing, so Okonkwo is trending up as the season winds down.
Jacksonville is his week 18 matchup. Okonkwo went for 29 yards on four catches and five targets against the Jaguars back in week 13.
It's an above-average matchup, so definitely look into adding Okonkwo.
Should You Add Juwan Johnson?
Johnson had 95 yards on four receptions and targets in week 17. He was good in week 16 as well, and has been underrated most of the season.
He has the Falcons in week 18, who will be on a short week after playing on Monday. Johnson went for 46 yards on six grabs and seven targets in the team's last matchup in week 12.
It's a very tough fantasy matchup for a tight end.
Should You Add AJ Barner?
Barner finished with 43 yards and a touchdown across three receptions and targets. He had a similar statline in week 16.
He gets the 49ers in week 18. Barner had no catches across two targets against San Fran back in week 1. Barner did rush once for two yards in that game.
San Fran is an above-average matchup for tight ends, and just gave up a big game to Loveland, so don't forget about Barner for week 18.
Should You Add Mark Andrews or Isaiah Likely?
Andrews and Likely didn't do a ton in week 17, but a good week 18 matchup gets them a mention in today's article. Andrews went for 28 yards on four catches and targets, while Likely added 27 yards on three catches and targets.
Pittsburgh is the favorable matchup the Baltimore tight ends get in week 18.
Andrews had a nine-yard catch across five targets against the Steelers in week 14. Likely had 25 yards and a score on four receptions and six targets.
Quarterback Options
Should You Add Malik Willis?
Willis wasn't able to finish off a great outing in week 17, but he appears to be good to go for week 18, when he might make another start for the Packers.
Jordan Love didn't pass concussion protocol in time for this past week, but now with the Packers locked into the No. 7 seed, Love might not play in week 18 too. If Willis cannot go, Clayton Tune could get a start.
It's a tough matchup ahead against the Vikings, so I only like Love or Willis, not Tune.
Willis had 288 passing yards, a touchdown and no interceptions on 18-of-21 passing in week 17. He rushed for 60 yards and two scores on nine attempts, and was charged with a lost fumble.
Should You Add Jaxson Dart?
Dart finished with 207 passing yards and 48 rushing yards, plus two rushing scores in week 17. He was 22-of-30 as a passer, attempted nine rushes and didn't turn the ball over.
He ends his season with the best possible fantasy matchup a quarterback could get against Dallas. Dart was not starting the last time the teams met.
The favorable matchup makes the dual-threat Dart a good option for week 18.
Should You Add Bryce Young?
Young was 14-of-24 passing for just 54 yards in week 17. He had no touchdowns and a pick, but rushed for 27 yards and a touchdown on nine rushing attempts.
He gets mentioned going into a great matchup against the Buccaneers in week 18. Young was 21-of-32 passing for 191 yards, two scores and no picks in the team's matchup in week 16 - he rushed for 20 yards on four scrambles.
Young isn't the most confident fantasy starting option, but the matchup (and his last appearance against Tampa Bay) suggests that he's a decent option for week 18.
Should You Add Shedeur Sanders?
Sanders finished week 17 with 186 passing yards, a touchdown and two interceptions on 17-of-23 passing. He rushed for 20 yards on four attempts.
He ends the season against the Bengals, who are another great fantasy test for a QB. Sanders was not starting the last time the teams met.
Sanders is like Young, being a good fantasy starting option in week 18 because of the matchup. There's still better options out there, and I'll point them out later in the week in the rankings article I do.
Should You Add Tyler Huntley?
Huntley started for Lamar Jackson in week 17, and could start again in week 18 against the Steelers.
Huntley was 16-of-20 passing for 107 yards, a score and no interceptions. He rushed for 60 yards on eight attempts.
Pittsburgh is another pretty favorable fantasy matchup, so if Huntley starts again, he could be a sneaky-good fantasy starting option.
Should You Add Tyler Shough?
We'll end things by talking about Shough, who was 22-of-27 passing for 333 yards, two scores and no picks in week 17. He rushed for six yards on four carries.
He gets the Falcons to end his rookie season. Shough faced them in week 12, completing 30 of his 43 passes for 243 yards, but no scores and a pick. Shough had 22 rushing yards on seven attempts.
The matchup is pretty average, but with the roll Shough has been on down the stretch, I like the idea of starting him in some leagues in week 18.
