After looking over some fantasy football waiver wire options at quarterback for week 7, let's dive into some tight end options.

Keep checking back for even more waiver wire stories as week 6 winds down and week 7 nears.

Check out fantasy football waiver wire targets all season on FantasySP.

Should You Add Dallas Goedert?

Goedert has been a touchdown machine so far this season, and should be owned in all fantasy leagues already. If he's still available (and he is in 10% of leagues synced here at FSP), Goedert needs to be your top pickup.

He went for 110 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions and 11 targets in week 6. Goedert has scored a touchdown in four straight games, with five total scores in that span.

Goedert has 20 targets and 12 receptions over the past two weeks, so his usage has increased, which is always a positive. As the Eagles' offense looks to figure things out, I expect Goedert to remain heavily involved.

He will have a pretty average matchup against the Vikings in week 7, so he should be added in any leagues he's available in, and starting in just about every league until further notice.

Should You Add Michael Mayer?

Mayer broke out in week 6, catching five of his seven targets for 50 yards and a score.

He had just 47 receiving yards and no scores on six catches and seven targets coming into the week. Mayer was heavily involved with Brock Bowers out with his injury again.

Mayer's fantasy upside will be tied to the health of Bowers, but Mayer could also remain involved with Bowers back in the mix, especially if he never gets to 100% again this season. Mayer is at least worth adding in deeper leagues as a result.

If Bowers is out again for week 7, Mayer could be added and started in some standard leagues too. Unfortunately, Raiders' tight ends will have a tough challenge against the Chiefs this coming week, so that will hold a lot of fantasy owners back from starting Mayer in standard leagues.

Watch the status of Bowers throughout the week, and set your expectations for Mayer accordingly.

Should You Add Harold Fannin Jr.?

Fannin has been a pretty good pass catcher for a weak Browns' offense this season. He had his best game in week 6, catching seven of his 10 targets for 81 yards.

Fannin now is averaging 42.3 receiving yards per game, while catching 28 of his 38 targets - he's scored once (in week 5). So he's stacked a couple nice fantasy outings in a row.

Cleveland No. 1 tight end David Njoku hurt his knee on Sunday, so Fannin's fantasy outlook is even higher if Njoku cannot go in week 7 and beyond.

Fannin already looks like a good option against a Dolphins' defense that struggles to slow opposing tight ends. Even if Njoku plays, I'd trust Fannin with a starting spot in more than just deeper leagues.

Should You Add Tyler Higbee?

Higbee had his best game of the season on Sunday - he was one of the few Rams who did anything in their win over the Ravens.

Higbee caught all four of his targets for 40 yards and a touchdown. He had 52 yards on six catches and 11 targets coming into the game.

Add in that Puka Nacua got injured and could miss some time and Higbee is quickly looking like a pretty solid fantasy option for week 7. Davante Adams will be the top receiver if Nacua is out, but there's no proven guys after that.

Higbee could step into a larger role in week 7 against the Jaguars. Jacksonville is just below an average matchup, so many will be confident enough in Higbee to add and immediately start him.

I'd at least make that move in deeper leagues, and if Nacua is out, Higbee could draw some standard league starts this coming week.

Should You Add Jonnu Smith?

Smith had just 18 yards on three catches and four targets in week 6, while also rushing once for 10 yards.

The best fantasy matchup for a tight end against the Bengals is why Smith is listed again this week.

Smith is averaging just 17.8 receiving yards a game, and has 88 scrimmage yards total, so he'd be a very risky starting option in standard leagues. In this favorable matchup, he's worth some deep-league starts at least.

I don't think many will trust him enough for a standard league start in week 7. I wouldn't either.

Should You Add Mason Taylor?

Like the rest of the Jets' offense, Taylor disappointed in week 6. He caught his only target for two yards.

He had been trending up, with 132 receiving yards on 14 catches and 19 targets over the previous two games, so hopefully this was just a one-game blip for Mason and this Jets' offense.

I still think he's the second-best pass catcher the Jets have, and with Garrett Wilson now dealing with a knee injury, there's no chance I'm dropping Taylor after his down showing. At least hold him another week.

The week 7 matchup Taylor has against the Panthers is super favorable too, so I'd be willing to pick him up in all league types. I see a big bounceback week coming from Taylor, so don't read too much into his week 6 outing.

He'll be a good deep-league starting option, and I'd be happy to stream him in a standard league if I didn't like any other options.

Should You Add Chig Okonkwo?

Okonkwo went for 46 yards on six receptions and targets in week 6. He had 48 yards on four grabs and five targets in week 5, so he's been solid for two straight weeks.

He also has a favorable week 7 matchup, going up against the Patriots. With no locked-in top pass catchers, Okonkwo could continue to deliver at least solid PPR marks for fantasy owners.

There's the chance he finds the end zone in the favorable matchup too, so adding and starting him in all league types is on the table, even if I like him better in deeper leagues.

Should You Add Kyle Pitts Sr.?

Pitts will play on Monday night, so you'll need to watch, or tune into FantasySP's takeaway story in the morning, to see how the Atlanta tight end fared.

He was good in his last appearance in week 4, and has been solid so far this season. If Pitts is good again on Monday, he could reach 100% before he plays in week 7.

I already thought he should have been rostered in all leagues, so hopefully you'll be able to snag him before week 7.

He will have a pretty average clash coming against the Niners, so Pitts will likely rank in the middle of my week 7 TE rankings. If he stars on Monday night, Pitts could sit well within the top 10.

Should You Add Evan Engram?

Engram totaled 42 receiving yards on five catches and six targets, while rushing once for seven yards. That 49-yard showing was his best of the season, setting a new high mark for a third straight week.

He only has 144 total yards and one score on the season, which is why he was dropped early on and is so widely available now.

Engram has a below-average test in week 7 against the Giants, but with his upward trend in usage and production, adding and utilizing Engram makes plenty of sense, especially in deeper leagues, or where fantasy owners are looking for even a little bit of TE help.

He's still a better deep-league asset, but he's just one solid showing away from looking like the weekly starter fantasy owners expected him to be coming into the season.

Should You Add Cade Otton?

Otton had a second straight solid showing, and could remain involved with more injuries to Bucs' pass catchers. The tight end had 51 yards on five catches and six targets this week, after 81 yards on four grabs and five targets last week.

Otton barely accomplished anything prior to these most recent two games, but he's definitely trending up now. If Emeka Egbuka, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin all miss week 7, Otton could be the team's No. 1 pass catcher.

He has a pretty average matchup looming against the Lions, so I'd already be adding and utilizing him in more leagues in week 7. At least utilize him in deeper leagues, and if those wideouts are all out, Otton could be used in standard leagues.

Should You Add Oronde Gadsden?

Gadsden had his best game as a pro on Sunday, catching seven of his eight targets for 68 yards. He had just 76 yards over three games before that.

The Chargers were without wideout Quentin Johnston this week, so it's no surprise to see the rookie TE more involved. His role could revert back to its early-season marks if everyone is healthy.

Gadsden is at least worth an add in deeper leagues still though. There's a chance he remains pretty involved and could carve out a solid role and be a nice fantasy starting option.

I don't see him becoming a locked-in weekly standard league starter, but you just never know, so he's at least worth keeping an eye on.
