Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters Heating Up: Lewis, Grisham and More

Trent Grisham - New York Yankees

Grisham is up 3.54% already today, and that brings his overall mark up to 42.59%.

Grisham popped two home runs and also doubled during Wednesday's game. He had four RBIs and three runs scored as well. Grisham has three multi-hit games in a row, and a four-game hitting streak overall. He has eight hits in that span, including a double in each game and an extra home run (on top of the two he hit yesterday).

Grisham has underwhelmed most of the season, but is definitely heating up of late. He has 77 hits and 48 walks over his 100 games played and 399 plate appearances on the year. Grisham has a .222 average and .314 on-base percentage, plus 50 RBIs, 59 runs scored, seven stolen bases and 67 strikeouts. The outfielder has 19 doubles, 15 home runs and two triples among his hits.

He is starting to figure some things out at the plate, and he's on the rise as a fantasy asset as a result. Grisham is a better deep-league fantasy add, especially looking at his season-long stats. If he stays hot at the plate for a bit longer though, he could work back into some standard leagues, so don't be afraid to make that move, especially if you need outfield help.

Chase Meidroth - Chicago White Sox

Meidroth is owned in 37.67% of fantasy baseball leagues right now. He's slightly on the rise today.

Meidroth is riding a four-game hitting streak right now. He has seven hits over that span - Meidroth has three home runs and a double among the knocks. He also has eight RBIs and three runs scored in that span.

He has played in 114 games this season, getting 479 plate appearances. Meidroth has 116 hits and 46 walks for a .276 average and .351 OBP. He has 12 homers, 21 doubles, 68 runs scored, 48 RBIs, two stolen bases and 109 strikeouts so far.

Meidroth is a solid fantasy asset, especially with him likely being eligible at second base and shortstop. He might not be super consistent, but in these hot stretches, he's worth more fantasy ownership. Meidroth is still probably just a deep-league fantasy asset, but those lacking middle infielders should consider adding him at least.

Royce Lewis - Minnesota Twins

Lewis is up to 69.44% rostered - he was at 29.31% back on August 2.

He has three two-hit games in a row. Lewis has two doubles among the hits, plus two RBIs, three runs scored and a walk.

Lewis has caught fire at the plate, and now owns a .245 average and .317 OBP over 87 games and 357 plate appearances for the season. He has 78 total hits, including 19 doubles, 13 homers and a triple, plus 43 RBIs, 44 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, 32 walks and 91 strikeouts.

Lewis is hitting well right now, and he's probably more valuable than you think, as he's likely eligible at first, second and third base now. He is worth adding/streaming until his bat cools off for a bit. He should be owned in all deeper leagues by now, and he's now working into more and more standard leagues - roll with him until the numbers say not to.

Steven Kwan - Cleveland Guardians 

Kwan is sitting at 70.37% right now. He was at 50.66% on July 22, and 41.96% on July 17.

Kwan has an 11-game hitting streak going right now. He has 20 hits in that span, but just two extra-base hits (a double and a homer). Kwan has four RBIs, nine runs scored, seven walks and just six strikeouts in that stretch.

The outfielder is now hitting .268 and getting on base at a .369 clip over 111 contests and 455 plate appearances this season. He has 103 total hits, including 14 doubles, two triples and two home runs. Kwan has 22 RBIs, 51 runs scored, 59 walks, eight stolen bases and 47 strikeouts.

He's underwhelmed a bit this season, but has turned things on of late and now is nearly matching his 2024 average, while being nearly 40 points better with his OBP. The lack of power, and being part of a loaded fantasy spot, keeps him out of more fantasy leagues, but he's a fine deep-league option, especially right now. He could even be streamed in standard leagues until his bat cools off a bit.
