Ride the Hot Streak: 4 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters to Target

Looking for offense? These four under-rostered hitters are trending up and could provide a short-term fantasy boost.

Let's go over our third round of fantasy baseball waiver wire hitting options of the week here!

Here are the waiver articles from Monday and Tuesday, plus Wednesday's starting pitcher streaming article.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

Chase Meidroth - Chicago White Sox

Meidroth checks in at 27.83% owned right now. He has been hovering around 25% owned, so he's slightly up from the past few days.

He is riding a three-game hitting streak right now. Meidroth has two homers and a double for his hits in that short span, plus four RBIs, three runs scored and a walk.

Meidroth has been good most of the season, sitting with a .276 average and .345 on-base percentage over 103 games and 431 plate appearances so far. He has 19 doubles and nine home runs among his 105 total hits, plus 40 RBIs, 60 runs scored, 39 walks, two stolen bases and 101 strikeouts.

He has played enough at second base and shortstop the past two years to be eligible at both spots, which bumps his fantasy value up a little bit. Meidroth has only appeared in three games at third base, but if he has or gains eligibility there, he'd be an even bigger fantasy asset.

He's a better deep-league fantasy asset overall, but in times where he's hot at the plate, he could be streamed in standard leagues, especially if you need some infield help. Meidroth is heating up, so he's a guy to keep tabs on, at the very least.

Jackson Holliday - Baltimore Orioles

Holliday is up 3.14% today and now is rostered in 29.57% of leagues overall.

He has six hits over his past two appearances, and eight hits spanning his past four games. He hasn't added a ton else in that timeframe, but it's good to see him heating up at the plate.

Holliday has now played in 56 games this season, getting 181 plate appearances so far. He has five doubles and home runs, plus a triple, among his 38 total hits. Holliday also has 17 RBIs, 22 runs scored, 27 walks, four stolen bases and 43 strikeouts.

He primarily plays second base, but could also have eligibility at third base or shortstop. Even if he's just eligible at second base, Holliday is a solid fantasy asset.

Holliday is a better deep-league fantasy asset though. He's one to add today as he heats up at the plate. Standard league owners need to keep tabs on him in case he stays hot, as he'd be worth some adds in those leagues as well then.

Dominic Canzone - Seattle Mariners

Canzone is sitting at 26.96% rostered right now. He dipped below 25% a couple days ago, but is back on the rise now.

Canzone has six hits over his past three ballgames. He has three homers and a double among the hits, plus seven RBIs and three runs scored.

He now boasts a .263 average and .333 OBP over 93 games and 297 plate appearances for the season. Canzone has 18 home runs, 15 doubles and a triple among his 70 total hits, plus 49 RBIs, 37 runs scored, 26 walks, a stolen base and 61 strikeouts.

The outfielder is a sneaky-good fantasy asset this season, and is worth streaming in more leagues when he's hot at the plate, like he is now. Give Canzone some consideration, especially if you could use some outfield help in deeper leagues.

I don't see him staying hot enough to add in standard leagues eventually, but he could at least be streamed for a short period, so be thinking about that move a bit.

Dylan Crews - Washington Nationals

Crews is rostered in 31.74% of fantasy leagues right now. He was below 20% on July 18, so he's risen a good deal since then.

He has five hits over his past three games played. Crews has a homer and two doubles among the hits, plus an RBI, three runs scored and a walk. The only downside is he has struck out four times over that short span.

Crews owns a .229 average and .311 OBP over 57 games played and 235 plate appearances this season. He has nine homers and eight doubles among his 48 hits, plus 24 RBIs, 34 runs scored, 18 walks, six stolen bases and 53 strikeouts.

The former No. 2 overall pick still isn't living up to the lofty expectations that come from that draft status, but at least he's trending up a bit. Crews could be worth some deep-league adds today as a result of his improved hitting of late.

He could work into standard leagues down the line, but he'd need to remain hot at the dish for a while. Be watching him closely, as fantasy owners are going to be quick to pounce on Crews if he keeps producing offensively.
