Fantasy managers searching for pitching help should check out these waiver wire targets.

Let's open Thursday by taking a look at some fantasy baseball pitching options. The focus will be on starting pitcher streamers.

Check back in a bit for a writeup on waiver wire hitters.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

Braxton Garrett - Miami Marlins

Garrett is rostered in 13.2% of fantasy baseball leagues after being added in 6.6% so far today.

Garrett is slated to start against the Twins today, which is a pretty good matchup on paper. Garrett is replacing the injured Robby Snelling in the rotation, and could stick if he pitches well.

Today will be Garrett's first MLB action since 2024. He had a 5.35 earned run average over seven starts that season. Garrett has a 4.03 ERA over 65 games (63 starts) over his five-year big league career. He has a 1.19 WHIP and 320 strikeouts over 326 1/3 innings pitched.

The matchup is solid, so Garrett is a pretty good option for the day. In his first MLB action in two years, I only like trying Garrett in deeper leagues today. Good results on the bump could get him into standard leagues in time.

Michael McGreevy - St. Louis Cardinals

McGreevy is up to 62% owned as he prepares for a start on Thursday.

He will make a start against the Athletics on Thursday afternoon. That's another pretty good matchup on paper.

McGreevy has appeared in eight games so far, and is 3-2 with a 2.18 ERA over 45 1/3 innings pitched. He's allowed only 11 runs on 29 hits and 10 walks. McGreevy has 33 strikeouts so far.

He's tossed scoreless six-inning outings in his past two starts, and is coming off a nine-strikeout game, so he's a bit better asset than he might appear at first glance. I like him in deeper leagues for sure, and think he could be streamed in some standard leagues as well.

Keider Montero - Detroit Tigers

Montero has been added in 3.44% of leagues, which brings his overall mark to 28.19%.

Montero will be starting against the Mets on Thursday. That's a good matchup on paper, despite some bigger names in the New York lineup.

He has seven starts under his belt in 2026, and is 2-2 with a 3.18 ERA so far. Over 39 2/3 innings, Montero has allowed 15 runs (14 earned) on 30 hits and eight walks. He's struck out 29 batters.

He's another pretty solid deep-league option today, and I think he could be considered for standard leagues too. Montero could surprise today, so look into adding him if you are looking for a streaming option.

Mike Burrows - Houston Astros

Burrows is rostered in 21% of leagues now as he prepares for a start on Thursday.

He will be facing off against the Mariners on Thursday. Seattle has been a solid matchup to attack so far, and for a day game, the lineup could be missing some notable hitters, which works in Burrow's favor.

Burrows has started eight games this season. He's 2-4 with a 5.04 ERA, but is coming off a seven-inning shutout effort his last time out. Burrows has allowed three or fewer runs in three straight starts.

He's trending up as a fantasy asset, and in this matchup, is a solid deep-league option. Burrows could be considered in standard leagues, but I'm far more comfortable streaming him in deeper leagues.

Zebby Matthews - Minnesota Twins

Matthews is only owned in about 2% of leagues right now, but that should rise before he starts on Thursday.

Matthews is set to oppose Garrett in the Marlins, Twins game today. Miami is another favorable offense to target with streaming pitchers.

Matthews will be making his MLB season debut today. He made 25 starts over the past two seasons, posting a 5.92 ERA and 1.54 WHIP, while striking out 131 batters in 117 innings of work.

Matthews is a risky streaming option as a result of those numbers, even in a nice matchup today. I only like trying him in deeper leagues today, and he's not one to even try in all those leagues.

Caleb Kilian - San Francisco Giants

Kilian is up 2.31% today and is rostered in 10.89% of leagues overall now.

His last appearance out of the bullpen was a four-out save against the Dodgers on Tuesday. Kilian earned his second save of the season in that one, and also has a 1-1 record and two holds.

Over 18 appearances overall, Killian has worked 19 1/3 innings, striking out 19 along the way. He's allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits and 12 walks.

He's just a deep-league option with a few saves under his belt, but his fantasy value could grow in time if he keeps serving as the team's closer. Keep tabs on Kilian in case he emerges as the long-term closer in San Fran.
