Dodgers right-hander Kenta Maeda won on Sunday after allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits (two homers) and one walk with eight strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings against San Diego.
Spin: Maeda (11-4, 3.76 ERA) is now 7-1 with a 2.44 ERA over his last nine starts. He made two relief appearances in mid-June when the Dodgers starting rotation was overcrowded, but he's since re-established as a starter in the ensuing weeks. Maeda had struggled with home runs earlier in the season and did allow two on Sunday, but he's given up just five homers in his last 10 games for a 0.9 HR/9 ratio. Maeda should be trusted by fantasy owners each time out going forward, and he'll start next on Aug. 20 at Detroit.
