Week 17 Sunday DFS Lineups: Trey McBride, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ashton Jeanty and More
Morgan puts together DFS lineups for the week 17 Sunday afternoon games.
With five games being played on either Thursday or Saturday, the fantasy football options for Sunday are a bit limited. I look at it as a chance for some better chances at finding success in DFS contests, so let's put together a couple lineups.
Each lineup will consist of the first two rounds of games on Sunday, so skipping the Sunday night game and also the Monday night contest.
Each lineup has a $50,000 budget and has nine spots to fill. Let's see what we can come up with!

Lineup 1
Quarterback - Jacoby Brissett ($5,700)
I opened this DFS lineup up by taking Brissett.
He is coming off his worst fantasy showing since taking over as the Arizona starting quarterback. Brissett tallied 11.6 fantasy points last week, but had at least 20 fantasy points in every other start.
A good matchup against the Bengals is a chance for Brissett to not only bounce back, but to deliver a high-end fantasy score. Him getting to that level would put this lineup in a great spot.
Running Back - Ashton Jeanty ($6,100)
Jeanty is coming off one of his better fantasy showings of his rookie season.
He scored 34.8 fantasy points last week in a tougher matchup. Jeanty now gets a super favorable matchup against the Giants, so he could star and maybe post his best fantasy score of the season.
Jeanty is averaging 15.4 fantasy points per game on the season. I see him going way over that in week 17.
Running Back - Kenneth Walker ($5,800)
Walker is my second choice at running back for this DFS lineup.
He is averaging 11.5 fantasy points per contest for the season. Walker scored 28.4 fantasy points last week, which was his best performance of the year.
A great matchup against the Panthers is a chance for Walker to keep rolling. I still am not super confident in Walker with the presence of Zach Charbonnet, but hopefully Walker can deliver enough, and replicate last week's showing.
Wide Receiver - Jakobi Meyers ($5,300)
Meyers is the first wide receiver I decided to take.
He is averaging 11.3 fantasy points per game on the season, but scored just 8.6 last week. Meyers had 12.1, 14.8, 21.3 and 15 in the four games before that, so I'm expecting something in that range this week.
A favorable test against the Colts should help Meyers deliver. He tallied 14.8 fantasy points in his last matchup against Indianapolis.
Wide Receiver - Tetairoa McMillan ($5,900)
McMillan is my second choice at wide receiver.
He is averaging 13.7 fantasy points per game on the season. McMillan scored 19.3 points last week, so I'm hoping for another outing like that.
McMillan has a slightly below-average matchup coming against the Seahawks, but as the top (and really only proven) pass catcher in Carolina, I expect McMillan to deliver a big fantasy score.
Wide Receiver - Jaylen Waddle ($6,100)
Waddle is the third wide receiver pick for me in this lineup.
He is averaging 13.1 fantasy points per game on the season, and scored 12.2 last week, in what was Quinn Ewers' first start.
Ewers should be a bit more settled this week, so I could see Waddle doing more. The wide receiver has a pretty average test coming against the Buccaneers, so I expect Waddle to be at his season average, or higher.
Tight End - Trey McBride ($7,500)
McBride was my big splash with this first DFS lineup.
He is averaging 19.2 fantasy points per contest on the season. McBride only scored 6.7 points last week, but had 40.4 in the week before that.
I see something like that 40.4-point outing coming, because he has the best fantasy matchup possible against the Bengals. McBride is going to be a popular DFS pick as a result, and I decided to make him the focal point of this team.
Flex - Rashid Shaheed ($4,300)
I decided on Shaheed for my flex spot.
He is averaging 9.8 fantasy points on the season, and had 9.1 last week. Shaheed was at 12.1 and 16.7 points in the two games before that.
A slightly below-average matchup against the Panthers doesn't scare me off him. I think he will put up a solid fantasy score this week, and ideally, he scores a time or two.
DST - Steelers DST ($3,300)
I went with the Steelers DST for this lineup.
They are averaging 7.7 fantasy points per game on the season. They scored five last week and seven the week before that.
A super favorable matchup against the Browns is why I chose them this week. The last time the teams met, the DST tallied 10 fantasy points. I see another double-digit outing coming in week 17.
Lineup 2
Quarterback - Geno Smith ($4,400)
I saved at quarterback with this lineup by taking Smith.
Smith is averaging 13.3 fantasy points per game on the season, but tallied 15 last week in a tough test against the Texans.
He has a very favorable test on Sunday against the Giants, so I could see Smith scoring more than last week, and maybe putting up a season-high in points.
Running Back - Bucky Irving ($6,200)
Irving is my first choice at running back.
He is averaging 15.4 fantasy points per game so far this season. Irving only has scored 7.1 and 8.1 fantasy points over the past two weeks though.
A favorable test against the Dolphins is a chance for Irving to get back on track in a must-win game for Tampa Bay. Irving's usage has been good of late, and I think he puts up a good fantasy score in a good matchup, so I'm willing to fire him up here.
Running Back - Michael Carter ($5,200)
Carter was another way to save a little money with this lineup.
He is averaging 7.8 fantasy points per game for the season. Carter scored 6.5 last week, but had 13.4 in the game before that.
An extremely favorable matchup against the Bengals is why I chose Carter for this DFS lineup. Even on 15 or so touches, he could deliver big, especially for his salary.
Wide Receiver - Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($8,600)
Smith-Njigba was my big splash with this fantasy lineup.
He is averaging 23.8 fantasy points per game on the season. JSN scored 23.6 last week, and has 21.3 or more in three straight. There hasn't been many times he has underwhelmed this season.
A slightly below-average matchup against the Panthers isn't one that scares me, so I expect Smith-Njigba to deliver big yet again. If he finds the end zone even once, I could see him at 30 or more fantasy points.
Wide Receiver - Wan'Dale Robinson ($5,700)
Robinson is the second wide receiver for this lineup.
He is averaging 13.4 fantasy points per game on the season, but scored just 5.2 last week.
Robinson has a good matchup this Sunday against the Raiders, so I like him to bounce back. If he excels and powers the Giants' offense, this DFS lineup could contend for the top spot.
Wide Receiver - Stefon Diggs ($5,800)
Diggs is the third and final wideout for this lineup.
He is averaging 12.9 fantasy points per game on the season. Diggs broke out of a funk by tallying 25.8 fantasy points last week - he had 5.6 or less in three straight before that.
I see him shining again on Sunday in a pretty average matchup against the Jets.
Tight End - Harold Fannin ($5,000)
Fannin is another fantasy TE I really like this week.
He is averaging 12 fantasy points per game on the season, and has reached that mark in four straight. Fannin had 19.5 points last week, and scored 28.4 points three weeks ago.
In a favorable matchup against the Steelers, I could see Fannin over 20 fantasy points yet again. He had 15.1 points against Pittsburgh earlier this season.
Flex - Brian Thomas ($5,200)
Thomas is my flex player in this lineup.
He is averaging 10.2 fantasy points on the season. Thomas only scored 3.8 points last week, but he had 17.1 and 11.7 in the two weeks before that.
Thomas has a very favorable test coming against the Colts, who he scored 11.7 points against a couple weeks ago.
DST - Patriots DST ($3,900)
I kept picking on the Jets by taking the Patriots DST to cap this lineup.
The DST is averaging 7.2 fantasy points per game on the season, and scored five last week.
The last time the Patriots and Jets met, the DST scored five fantasy points as well. I see the DST faring better this time around, with a double-digit outing very possible.
