Fantasy Football Week 15 Start Decisions Involving Falcons: Tyler Allgeier, Kyle Pitts and More
Looking over some fantasy football start/sit decisions involving Falcons.
Week 15 of the NFL regular season gets underway tonight with an NFC South clash between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons. Let's take a look at trending decisions involving players from both teams.
We will go over the Falcons first. Check back in a bit for the Buccaneers' story.
Spoiler alert: there are not many Atlanta players in trending decisions, but we'll be sure to discuss all notable fantasy players anyways.
Having trouble deciding who to start? Let the FantasySP start/sit tool help you make a decision.
Tyler Allgeier Start Decisions
Allgeier is one Falcon who is part of a trending decision right now. He's only in one decision too, and it's against Los Angeles Rams' Blake Corum.
Neither back is part of my top-30 fantasy running back rankings.
Allgeier has an above-average matchup coming against the Buccaneers tonight. Corum has the toughest fantasy challenge for a back against the Lions.
Corum has been the better fantasy back of late, so it makes this an interesting decision. Let's dive into the numbers a bit.
Allgeier is starting over Corum every single time, with both backs also starting together in 15% of leagues. I hope that those numbers where both are starting are in deeper fantasy setups, because if you are starting both in a standard league, you likely aren't competing for anything meaningful in week 15.
I too like Allgeier over Corum this week, but would only consider both guys in deeper leagues. There has to be better options out there in standard leagues.
Kyle Pitts Sr. Start Decisions
Pitts is the other Atlanta player in a trending decision, and he too is part of just one. He's in that trending decision with Indianapolis' Tyler Warren.
Warren is my No. 4 fantasy tight end for week 15, while Pitts ranks 15th. An injury is what had Pitts lower than usual.
Pitts is officially questionable tonight. If he ends up playing, I like his outlook, as star wideout Drake London is out again. Pitts' matchup against Tampa Bay is just below average, but nothing too daunting.
Warren has a favorable matchup ahead against the Seahawks. His outlook is hampered though after Daniel Jones was lost for the season. I think Warren has a chance to be the Colts' top fantasy player the rest of the season, as defenses stack the box to slow Jonathan Taylor. What better way for the new QB to pass then to look the tight end's way.
Anyways, back to the Pitts, Warren matchup. Fantasy owners are starting Warren over Pitts, while starting both tight ends 45% of the time.
I also like Warren over Pitts by a wide margin. If Pitts ends up playing, he is a flex-level option in standard leagues. Use the FantasySP start/sit tool to help with those decisions.
Other Starting Options
At quarterback, Kirk Cousins will be making another start for the Falcons. He's been up and down since taking over as the team's starter, but has yet to post an average fantasy score.
I have him ranked 26th for this week, so he's just a deep-league option in my eyes. He's a sneaky good option in those leagues though, because Tampa Bay is a top-five fantasy matchup for quarterbacks. We'll see if Cousins can take advantage of things.
Also at running back is Bijan Robinson, who I have ranked third for week 15. Again, the matchup for the Falcons' backs is above average, so I like Robinson's outlook.
You are starting him no matter what every single week, and you should expect big things from him in a pretty nice matchup, and with London out and Pitts at least dinged up.
London was my 11th-ranked receiver for week 15, although I didn't expect him to play again. No other Falcon wideout made my top-30 list.
It's another above-average matchup, so the fill-in wideouts have a chance to score some fantasy points tonight. David Sills V, Darnell Mooney and Dylan Drummond have been playing the most snaps at wide receiver. There really hasn't been a wideout from that group that's stood out, so none of them are standard league options, even in a pretty nice matchup.
I like Mooney, then Sills, then Drummond, but again, just in deeper leagues. I don't see any of them standing out, and the top fantasy asset of the three could be the one who scores.
I like Pitts to be the top pass catcher for Atlanta tonight, if he's active. If he isn't out there, then Charlie Woerner and Teagan Quitoriano will likely fill the void.
Woerner has played more, but I don't see either faring super well tonight. It's a slightly below-average matchup for the tight ends, and that makes those two just deep-league options, and really just desperation plays.
So if Pitts is active, I'd be a bit skeptical of playing him, but happy to start him given the other pass catchers Atlanta has available. If Pitts is out, the only standard league option for the offense is Robinson, and then Allgeier might be a bit more involved.
Robinson seems like the only legit fantasy asset from Atlanta tonight. I think it could be a long day for the offense, even though the matchups are pretty favorable across the board.
Fire up some Falcons in deeper leagues, but not many are going to make standard league lineups tonight.
