Fantasy football waiver wire transactions run on Wednesday in most leagues, but you can still land some useful pickups later in the week.

Let's take a look at some options as the weekend slate of week 6 games nears. We'll break things down by position - this week, it's just running backs, tight ends and quarterbacks who are listed.

Fantasy football waiver options can be found daily on FantasySP!

Running Backs

Hassan Haskins, Kareem Hunt, Kimani Vidal and Kyle Monangai are the running backs listed on the waiver wire list this morning.

Haskins and Vidal are both Chargers expected to take on larger roles after the injury to Omarion Hampton. Najee Harris is out for the season, so Haskins and Vidal will get the first crack at replacing Hampton.

Haskins is up nearly 34%, and is now rostered in 80.73% of leagues overall. Most are expecting him to take over the lead role in the backfield. Vidal is up 2.42% and is rostered in 47.21% of leagues.

I too think Haskins is going to be the lead back for the Chargers. I think he should get close to 100% owned before the game kicks off. That doesn't mean you need to start him, but at least add-and-stash him to see if he's indeed the lead back.

Vidal is worth an add in all deeper leagues, so he's getting close to that. If he ends up being the lead back this week, he'll be the big-time waiver pickup going into week 7, but I wouldn't make that move until after this week finishes.

Hunt is up 5.56% and sits at 59.94% overall. He's on the injury report, but has been practicing in full.

He's been the best fantasy back for the Chiefs, so it makes sense to see him being added in more leagues. Hunt still has to deal with Isiah Pacheco and Brashard Smith, but Hunt has been the back used in the red zone, so on touchdown value alone, he's worth adding and utilizing in more fantasy leagues.

I have Hunt as a better deep-league asset, but for someone desperate for running back help in a standard league, he's not a bad option to try.

I'm not seeing a reason why Monangai should be added in fantasy leagues right now, yet he's up 1.36% and sits at 10.68% overall.

He didn't practice on Thursday with a thigh injury, so that's even more reason not to add him. Unless deep-league owners are stashing a back, or have a crystal ball and know an injury to D'Andre Swift is coming, I don't get this add.

Tight Ends

Mason Taylor, David Njoku, AJ Barner and Kyle Pitts Sr. are all on the waiver wire list at the tight end position.

Taylor was a good waiver wire option this week, but he's really gained value as the week has gone on. He's up 17.17% and sits at 58.16% overall now.

Over the past two games, he has 14 catches over 19 targets for 132 total yards. That's more than enough reason to add the tight end, especially with how the position has struggled overall.

He's the Jets' No. 2 option in the passing game, so I'd be happy to add him in all league types. Taylor should be starting in all deeper leagues already, and he's a pretty good standard league option too. I think he's underowned, but that will change if he delivers again in week 6 - beat the crowd and add-and-stash him now.

Njoku has been added in 6.13% of leagues and is now owned in 92.58% overall.

He's coming off his best showing of the season, which was Dillon Gabriel's first start. I'm surprised Njoku didn't jump back to 100%, but he could get there by the time he hits the field for week 6.

He's been a fantasy stud in the past, so I'd be more than happy to add, and play, him in week 6. Maybe week 5 was the start of his 2025 breakout.

Barner is owned in 19.55% of leagues after a 2.5% increase. I'm surprised it wasn't higher after his week 5 performance.

He had 53 yards and two scores on seven catches and targets last week. Barner went for 32 yards and a score on three grabs and targets in week 4, and had a touchdown grab back in week 2, so it's not like he's been irrelevant until last week.

Barner is the top Seattle tight end right now, and with that offense performing better than expected, I'd be happy to add and play him in deeper leagues this week. He could work his way into standard leagues with another big performance in week 6, so keep an eye on Barner's game log.

Pitts has been added in 1.4% of leagues, bringing his overall mark up to 80.12%.

Again, I'm surprised that the mark isn't higher. The last time we saw Pitts, he had 70 yards and a score on five receptions and targets.

He has been at 37 or more yards in his four games this season. Pitts has at least five targets in every game, but his last touchdown was his first of the year.

There's still enough in those early-season numbers, especially coming off his best game, to add and play Pitts in all league types. He needs to be starting in deeper leagues, and he's not a bad standard league asset for week 6.

He'll jump to 100% owned if he delivers again in week 6.

Quarterbacks

Sam Darnold, Bryce Young and Joe Flacco are all on the rise as the weekend hits.

Darnold is the one leading the Seattle offensive surge. He's rostered in 43.85% of leagues after a 1.52% increase.

He's coming off his best fantasy showing of the season, and had been average in the three weeks before that. I just don't get why he's not more rostered and utilized for week 6.

Darnold should at least be utilized in deeper leagues, and I'd consider him pretty heavily in standard leagues too.

Young is up 1.45% and is owned in 27.65% of leagues overall.

He has the most favorable fantasy matchup a quarterback could have in week 6, as he takes on the Cowboys. Young hasn't delivered a ton this season, or in his career, but how can you not want to take advantage of this matchup in deeper leagues at least?

I'd have expected his own percentage to be in the 40s, or maybe even 50s. Instead, he's available in most leagues, so if you are still looking for a week 6 starting quarterback, look Young's way and try to take advantage of the super favorable matchup he has.

Flacco was traded to the Bengals this week, so it's fair to see him rising in a better fantasy situation. He's rostered in just 10.68% of leagues synced here after a 1.38% increase.

He has a tough matchup against the Packers in week 6, which actually was his only win with the Browns. Flacco didn't deliver much in that outing, but with a better team around him, some fantasy owners are hoping the aging quarterback has some more magic in him.

He's worth a start in some deep fantasy setups, but most are going to want to see how he looks with his new team being feeling really confident starting him. Keep an eye on his performance this week, as Flacco could be a big waiver add with a good showing this weekend.
