Week 4 Fantasy Football Projections and Waiver Wire Options: Brenton Strange, Ollie Gordon and More

Taking a look at week 4 fantasy football projections to identify some possible waiver wire options.

Week 4 of the NFL regular season will be here before you know it.

With that in mind, let's look over some of the top-projected players for the upcoming week, and point out any players with an own percentage under 90.

Wide Receivers

Rashid Shaheed and Josh Downs are two receivers projected for 12 PPR fantasy points in week 4. 

Shaheed is rostered in 80% of leagues and has a matchup against the Bills this coming week. He has 127 receiving yards and a touchdown on 14 catches and 20 targets through three weeks. 

Downs is owned in just 60% of leagues right now and faces the Rams this week. He's gone for 97 yards on 10 receptions and 14 targets through three games.

Romeo Doubs, Khalil Shakir, Adam Thielen and Marquise Brown are all projected for 10 PPR points in week 4.

Doubs is rostered in about 53% of leagues right now and has a matchup against the Cowboys in week 4. Through three games, Doubs has 121 yards and a score across seven receptions and 11 targets.

Shakir will take on the Saints this week and is owned in 85% of leagues. He has 121 yards and a touchdown on 11 catches and 15 targets so far.

Thielen is at just 28% rostered and faces off against the Steelers in week 4. He has just 26 yards across two catches and six targets in the first three games of the season.

Brown is at nearly 84% rostered and will go against the Ravens this coming week. He's sitting with 171 receiving yards on 19 catches and 27 targets through three games.

Tight Ends

Kyle Pitts Sr. is projected for 12 PPR points against the Commanders in week 4. He's rostered in 86% of leagues right now.

Pitts has 135 receiving yards on 15 receptions and 19 targets through three games.

Mark Andrews, Dallas Goedert and Brenton Strange are all projected for 10 points in week 4.

Andrews is rostered in 86% of leagues and faces the Chiefs in week 4. After a big Monday night showing, Andrews has 98 yards and two scores across eight receptions and 10 targets this season.

Goedert sits at 81% rostered and faces the Buccaneers this coming week. He has 77 yards and a score across eight catches and nine targets through two games - he missed week 2 with an injury.

Strange is rostered in 34% of leagues right now and will go up against the Niners in week 4. Strange is up to 137 yards on 13 receptions and 16 targets through the first three games.

Running Backs

There's not many widely-available backs who are projected for big weeks. There are a few names worth mentioning though.

Zach Charbonnet, Ollie Gordon and Trey Benson are all projected for eight PPR points.

Charbonnet is owned in 87% of leagues and plays the Cardinals this week. He has played in two games, rushing for 57 yards and a score on 27 attempts and not being targeted in the passing game yet.

Gordon plays the Jets and is rostered in 33% of leagues. In the first three games, the rookie has 50 rushing yards and a score on 12 carries and four receiving yards across two catches and targets.

Benson is owned in 78% of leagues and will take on the Seahawks. He's the new Arizona lead back after the season-ending injury to James Conner. Benson has 125 rushing yards on 21 carries and an additional 45 yards and a score on eight catches and 11 targets through three games.

Quarterbacks

Brock Purdy and Justin Fields are projected for 20 fantasy points each (if they both play).

Purdy faces the Jaguars and is owned in 82% of leagues right now. In his only game this season, Purdy threw for 277 yards, two scores and two interceptions, while rushing five times for 17 yards.

Fields is rostered in 83% of leagues and gets the Dolphins in week 4. He has 245 passing yards, a touchdown and no picks, plus 97 rushing yards and two scores on 17 rushing attempts in a game-plus of action.

Tua Tagovailoa is one of the quarterbacks projected for 19 fantasy points. He gets a clash against the Jets in week 4 and is owned in 30% of leagues. Tagovailoa has 575 passing yards, five touchdowns and four picks, along with 17 rushing yards on three attempts through three weeks.

Sam Darnold and Bryce Young are each projected for 17 fantasy points in week 4.

Darnold is rostered in 18% of leagues and takes on the Cardinals this week. He's thrown for 663 yards, four scores and two interceptions, while rushing for 14 yards on two scrambles through three games.

Young has the Patriots in week 4, and is rostered in 17% of leagues. He has passed for 603 yards, four touchdowns and three picks, while rushing for 50 yards and a score on nine attempts across three games.
