Let's take a look at a second round of fantasy baseball waiver wire targets for the week!

Here is Monday's waiver wire writeup, plus Tuesday's starting pitcher streaming article

We will hit on some recently traded MLB players in this article. You can read all the fantasy baseball trade breakdowns on FantasySP's fantasy baseball page.

George Lombard Jr. - New York Yankees

Lombard is up 5.58% today, and that's likely to keep going up as he's reportedly getting called up today. He sits at 16.28% overall.

He is set to replace Anthony Volpe, who was optioned to Triple-A on Monday night. Lombard is the No. 20 prospect in the game, so he has some high expectations as he kicks off his big league career.

The 21-year-old was a first-round pick back in 2023, and wasn't expected to debut until 2027, so he's impressing enough to get a crack at the big leagues now. Over 333 minor league games, Lombard has a .248 average and .372 on-base percentage.

Lombard has a .284 average and .411 OBP over 78 games across three minor league levels this season. He's shown more pop this year, and can impact the game in several areas.

He's worth adding immediately in a lot of deeper leagues. If Lombard delivers early, he could be scooped up in all those leagues in a hurry. He also could be added in standard leagues soon, so be ready to make that move if he excels early on.

Hector Rodriguez - Cincinnati Reds

Rodriguez has been added in 6.56% of leagues, which brings his overall mark to 9.35%.

Rodriguez is another prospect getting called up. He's the team's No. 3 prospect, and has enjoyed some success across 570 minor league games since 2021. He has a combined .286 average and .339 OBP.

The 22-year-old outfielder was signed back in 2021, and is another hitter who can impact the game in several areas. Rodriguez is showing plenty of pop this season, and could be a big league force right away.

He's not as highly touted as Lombard, but Rodriguez is worth some deep-league adds today as well. If he produces early on, he could be added in any leagues, so again, be ready to pounce.

Luke Weaver - Pittsburgh Pirates

Weaver sits at 39.53% owned after a 4.65% increase today.

Weaver has a chance to close games with the Pirates after being traded there on Monday. Across 42 appearances and 44 innings pitched with the Mets this season, Weaver had 45 strikeouts and a 1.45 earned run average.

Weaver was 2-1 with one save, two blown saves and 15 holds. Those are great numbers, and now that he's on a better team, Weaver has the chance to be a bigger fantasy asset.

He's worth adding in some deeper leagues today. If he starts closing games for Pittsburgh, scoop him up in standard leagues too.

Jeff Hoffman - Minnesota Twins

Hoffman is up to 45.33% rostered today - that's up 1.14% from yesterday.

Hoffman could close games after being traded to the Twins on Monday. Across 51 games and 48 innings with Toronto this season, Hoffman was 6-7 with a 3.94 ERA and 75 strikeouts to his name.

Hoffman earned five saves while with Toronto. He had four blown saves and 12 holds as well.

He was a solid reliever there, and now could be earning some saves in Minnesota, so his fantasy value rises. He's worth adding in deeper leagues now, and could become a standard league pickup if he starts claiming some saves for Minnesota.

Jackson Jobe - Detroit Tigers

Jobe is trending up as he nears a return to the big league mound. He's sitting at 17.67% owned today.

He is working back from Tommy John surgery. Jobe worked four innings in his last rehab outing, and got to 69 pitches. He's maybe one more rehab start away from getting activated.

Detroit will likely play things safely with him the remainder of the season, but he still could be a fantasy force, even in five-inning outings. Jobe has made 12 appearances (10 starts) across two MLB seasons, and posted a 3.91 ERA over 53 innings, while striking out 41 along the way.

He's worth some deep-league fantasy adds today as he prepares to be activated. Beat the crowd and do that move now. He could be a good streaming option from day 1, so be ready to pounce when he's activated.
