5 Fantasy Baseball Players You Can Drop Right Now
With roster percentages trending down, these fantasy baseball players are becoming easier to replace on the waiver wire.
I have another set of fantasy baseball drop candidates to go over before we hit the weekend.
Here are drop articles we did on Monday and Thursday.
More droppable player data can be located on the waiver wire trends most dropped tab, which can be found on any fantasy baseball page here at FantasySP.

Bryson Stott - Philadelphia Phillies
Stott is rostered in 54% of fantasy baseball leagues right now. He was over 80% owned at the start of the regular season.
Stott has started the 2026 season slowly. He's hitting .167 and getting on base at a .211 clip over 10 games and 38 plate appearances. Stott has six hits, with just one extra-base hit among them. He has two RBIs, one run scored, two stolen bases, two walks and seven strikeouts.
Add in that he's not starting against most left-handed starting pitchers, and that means Stott shouldn't be in standard leagues any longer. He'll heat up a bit at least as time passes, but he might be a better deep-league fantasy asset in 2026.
Watch him in case he gets hot, at which point he could be a standard league option for a short stretch. He's at a weaker fantasy position (second base), so that's why he's a bit more rostered than one might expect with those stats.
Heliot Ramos - San Francisco Giants
Ramos is owned in just 40% of leagues right now. He was at about 70% to kick off the regular season.
Ramos has just a .191 average and .224 OBP over 12 games and 49 plate appearances so far this season. He has a double among his nine knocks, plus three RBIs, four runs scored, two walks and a whopping 20 strikeouts already.
He's still hitting between the 3-5 slots in the lineup, so his fantasy outlook is still good. Ramos needs to deliver more to be trustworthy as a fantasy asset. He's an outfielder, which is a loaded fantasy spot, and that makes Ramos droppable today.
Ramos should be let go in all standard leagues, and even some deeper leagues. He's just not doing enough right now, and the strikeouts mean he's leaving you with negative fantasy points some nights. Keep tabs on him for when he heats back up, but he's replaceable for the time being.
Jack Flaherty - Detroit Tigers
Flaherty is down to 80% rostered right now. He was over 90% at the start of the season, so he's fallen a bit.
He has made three starts this season, and things haven't gone very well. Flaherty's best start came on Thursday, when he allowed a run on five hits and three walks, while striking out six. He has allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 12 hits and 11 walks, while striking out 14 over 14 innings in three total starts.
That's simply not good enough for that high of an own percentage. Flaherty's last start was a positive one, but it still wasn't anything spectacular.
For the time being, he's more of a standard league streaming asset than a must-own pitcher. If you see a waiver wire player you like more, I'd be fine dropping Flaherty. He still should be streamed in most leagues when he starts, so don't lose track of him.
Jorge Polanco - New York Mets
Polanco sits around 54% rostered right now. He was at about 75% when the regular season started.
Over 10 games and 45 plate appearances, Polanco has a .200 average and .289 OBP. He has three doubles among his eight hits, along with one RBI, two runs scored, five walks and six punchouts.
He's dealing with an Achilles injury, and that could lead to an injured list stint. If that happens, Polanco will be dropped in a bunch of leagues.
Polanco has hit in the heart of the Mets' order early on, and that gives him a great fantasy outlook. He hadn't delivered when healthy, so he was already trending down, and the injury only makes things worse. Keep tabs on him in case he ever heats up, but unless you can stash him at the end of your bench or on an IR spot, Polanco is droppable in a lot of leagues.
Spencer Torkelson - Detroit Tigers
Torkelson is rostered in 64% of fantasy leagues today. He was at nearly 90% at the start of the season.
Torkelson has a .184 average and .354 OBP over 12 games and 48 plate appearances. He has two doubles among his seven hits, along with three RBIs, four runs scored, nine walks and 13 strikeouts.
The OBP is really good, but he simply hasn't produced enough hits, or other stats. Seeing as he's still getting on base at a good clip, I'd be more inclined to hold out hope on Torkelson, but because he's at a loaded first base spot, I also get dropping him now.
His bat should get going eventually, and that paired with a good OBP should make him an appealing fantasy asset in a bunch of leagues. Keep tabs on Torkelson, but move off of him if he was a backup option at first base for you.
