No. 10: William Nylander - Toronto Maple Leafs
If you're surprised to see Willy here, you shouldn't be. While yes, it's obvious that franchise superstar Auston Matthews of the Maple Leafs will be on this list, Nylander has something that Papi doesn't. Consistency.
Regular season and playoffs alike, Nylander has been the most consistent Maple Leaf, who shows up for big games, puts the team on his back, and isn't streaky either. Some whined about his contract, which now looks like a steal at only $11.5M AAV.
Over the last four seasons, Nylander has put up 80, 87, 98, and 84 points, respectively, while missing only one game. He is nearly a career regular season and playoff point a game player, who without Mitch Marner is likely going to see an increase in ice time and responsibility. He will also likely be playing alongside Papi now too, with Marner's departure.
Nylander had 45 goals, 39 assists, and 30 powerplay points in 82 games as a forward. He also had 253 shots on goal, 14 hits, and 27 blocked shots.
No. 9 Jake Oettinger - Dallas Stars
For those of you taking goaltenders in your draft strategy, Oettinger is going to see a boatload of starts this year again. Despite not having the greatest defense in front of him, he has shown critics his elite skill and calmness in net giving consistent statistics year over year.
While the Stars are hindered by an aging roster, let's not forget that Mikko Rantanen has now joined the roster, and we are seeing the emergence of young defenseman Thomas Harley, who will be guarding the blueline.
However well the Stars were supposed to do last year, they have gotten better and will be doing everything they can to make a playoff push for aging captain Jamie Benn. I would look to see Oettinger have another 60-ish starts this year with comparable or better stats than last year. An absolute must pickup if given the opportunity.
Oettinger had 36 wins in 58 games started as a goaltender. He also had a .909 save percentage, 2.59 goals against average, and two shutouts.
No. 8: Nikita Kucherov - Tampa Bay Lightning
Kuch is an absolute points machine. While he may lack peripherals, when you are putting up 100+-point seasons every year - who cares? A points league top-five pick every day of the week, this player has had a hot stick for years.
His last three seasons saw him put up 113 points, then a league leading 144, and 121 points, respectively.
The guy shows zero signs of slowing down, having 994 points in 803 games played and even without former captain Steven Stamkos on the roster, has a slew of talent around him that make the Lightning a threat all season long.
We have him coming in at number eight, accounting for all league formats, but if your league only counts points, then I would easily take him top five.
Kucherov had 37 goals, 84 assists, and 46 powerplay points in 78 games as a forward. He also had 265 shots on goal, 23 hits, and 33 blocked shots.
No. 7: Leon Draisaitl - Edmonton Oilers
The right hand of the world's best player, Connor McDavid, there is no doubt that Draisaitl is a franchise player himself. If this duo could get some help, they would literally be unstoppable.
The only downside to Leon is that he is on the Oilers.
That said, if you are in a keepers league, you are keeping Draisaitl all day every day. His offensive prowess and consistency is beyond measure. In seven of his last eight seasons, Leon put up over 100 points. The odd one out? 2021, where there were only 56 games played, and he still put up 84 points that season.
Leon also has McDavid just barely edged out in goals scored, and has proven he can stand on his own without Connor as he has had to lead the Oilers alone when McDavid has battled injury.
Draisaitl had 52 goals, 54 assists, and 33 powerplay points in 71 games as a forward. He also had 240 shots on goal, 22 hits, and 27 blocked shots.
No. 6: David Pastrnak - Boston Bruins
Coming in at No. six on our list is Pasta. Not bad for a 25th overall selection, eh? I hate to say, but Pasta might have been the only thing Bruins' fans had to cheer for last year.
Boston's bruiser squad had a misstep that nobody saw coming last year, with Jeremy Swayman missing training camp and coming out of the gate colder than a zamboni.
What do the Titanic and the 2025 Bruins have in common? They were both at the bottom of the Atlantic last year.
Yet somehow Pasta turned heads and had another monster season. His third consecutive season with 100+ points, on one of the worst teams in the league last year.
I know I made jokes, but there is absolutely no way the Bruins have a repeat this year, which will only boast well for Pasta's performance. Especially once the whole roster is healthy (looking at you Charlie McAvoy) and Swayman starts the year on a better foot having gone through all of training camp before being thrown in the blue paint.
Pastrnak had 43 goals, 63 assists, and 23 powerplay points in 81 games as a forward. He also had 319 shots on goal, 58 hits, and 24 blocked shots.
