Fantasy Football Week 4 Expert Picks: Tua Tagovailoa, T.J. Hockenson, and More
The experts at FantasySP answer five questions in advance of Week 4 of the NFL season.
It's often said that after a month of games, we can finally start taking things that we see seriously. So much happens in the small sample of a few games that it's hard to pick through and tell what's real and what's a mirage. With every team about to play their fourth game (close to 25% of their season), we can soon start picking out which trends have sustained and which have regressed to the mean.
The experts here at FantasySP are here to help you navigate those tricky waters. Morgan Rode and Daniel Hepner answered five questions pertaining to fantasy football in advance of Week 4 of the NFL season.

Give us a quarterback who can be used as a streamer this week for those owners who lost a starter to injury or have a bad matchup.
Morgan: I'll say Tua Tagovailoa. He's been unimpressive in two of the first three weeks, but he gets a solid matchup against the Jets, so I'm willing to give him a streaming start.
Daniel: Jordan Love is QB14 on the season and has finished outside the top 10 every week. He has maybe the best matchup of the week against the Cowboys, though. Dallas has allowed the most yards per pass attempt and the most fantasy points to quarterbacks, getting beat with both volume and efficiency.
How about a running back who could struggle to find success in Week 4?
Morgan: There are a number of top-end fantasy backs with tougher matchups this week, but I'll highlight Derrick Henry, who has already struggled in back-to-back weeks. He faces a tough matchup against the Chiefs in Week 4, so I see him struggling again.
Daniel: David Montgomery looks like a guy to leave on your bench this week. Owners aren't going to bench Jahmyr Gibbs; he touches the ball too much, particularly in the passing game. Detroit's other back is more vulnerable from a fantasy perspective, though, as Cleveland has allowed the fewest yards per rush attempt and second-fewest fantasy points to running backs. The Browns have looked stout defensively against tough competition.
Do you have a wide receiver or two who will make a splash this week?
Morgan: I see Ladd McConkey getting going in Week 4. He has a good matchup against the Giants, so it's a time for him to finally break out. I think the Chargers force feed him the ball early, and he'll end with a great fantasy score.
Daniel: The Bears and Raiders face off against each other, and they are both among the six worst teams in terms of yards per pass attempt allowed and fantasy points given up to wide receivers. For Chicago, that means D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze are full-go. For Las Vegas, Jakobi Meyers is a must-start player, and Tre Tucker (who had 145 yards and three touchdowns last week) is a great WR3/4/flex option who could keep rolling.
Is there a tight end who maybe hasn't lived up to expectations yet who might be set up for a good game in this one?
Morgan: I think David Njoku could really excel in Week 4. He has a favorable matchup against the Lions, and I see his best fantasy performance coming this week.
Daniel: T.J. Hockenson ranks around TE20 in both standard and PPR scoring. He is a former fantasy star who missed most of last season with a major knee injury, so it's worrying to see him struggle to make an impact. Pittsburgh has allowed the fourth-most yards per pass attempt and second-most fantasy points to tight ends, so if Hockenson is going to break out, this might be the week. He looked better in Week 3 with five receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown; maybe Carson Wentz being in the lineup will make a difference.
Who will be the fantasy MVP of Week 4?
Morgan: I really like James Cook this week. I have him as my No. 1 fantasy back as a result. With a very favorable test against the Saints, and in a game where Buffalo should be up big, I see Cook going off.
Daniel: I have been way off on this question the past two weeks when looking for a running back against a bad team. Cook would have been my answer by that same logic, so I'll switch up my thought process here and instead go with Justin Herbert. He started Week 4 with the most passing yards and tied for the fifth-most touchdowns of any quarterback, and his 8.0 yards per pass are tied for fifth among starters. With a good matchup against the Giants, I'm looking for Herbert to again excel in Week 4.
