Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Final Adds for the Week
Gary Payton II, Tobias Harris, and Ace Bailey headline the latest wave of pickups.
I have one final set of fantasy basketball waiver wire options for you this week.
Here are the waiver stories we did on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Gary Payton II: Consistently Delivering for Warriors
Payton is owned in about 30% of fantasy basketball leagues right now. He's up from 13% just two days ago.
The Warriors continue to play without Stephen Curry, and it's allowed several other players to step up. Payton has been of late, as he's scored in double figures in six straight.
Over that six-game stretch, Payton is averaging 14.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.2 steals and 0.3 blocks over 23.2 minutes a game. He hasn't started any of those contests, but he's been a reliable asset off the bench.
Curry isn't the only Warrior on the injury report, and the more guys continue to miss games, the better off Payton and his fantasy production will be. Right now, he's worth adding in more deeper leagues.
He might eventually work into standard leagues if he keeps posting enough numbers, but in a somewhat limited bench role, he's probably a better deep-league asset.
Taylor Hendricks: Doing More for Memphis
Hendricks was sitting at 18% rostered just two days ago - now he's at about 25%.
He's picked things up of late, scoring in double figures in three of the past four contests. Over that stretch, Hendricks has combined for 53 points, 20 rebounds, 11 steals, seven blocks and three assists, while averaging 24.8 minutes per game.
Hendricks has been a better fantasy asset since joining the Grizzlies near the trade deadline. It definitely helps his cause that so many Memphis players are on the injury report.
Take advantage of that and utilize Hendricks in deeper leagues until his production fades. I don't see Hendricks working into standard leagues, but if he takes and keeps a starting spot, it could be a possibility.
Tobias Harris: Poised for More Without Cunningham Around
Harris is up to about 85% rostered now. He sat at 77% yesterday.
Harris is coming off a down showing, at least compared to recently. I'm still discussing him today after Detroit announced that Cade Cunningham was going to miss some time with an injury.
The Pistons played on Thursday, but Harris only delivered seven points and rebounds, five assists and two blocks over 22 minutes in a start. Detroit won by a healthy margin, so that didn't help his cause.
Before that showing, Harris had scored 12, 21 and 15 points over the previous three contests. He accumulated 16 rebounds, 10 assists, two blocks and one steal in that stretch as well.
I think Harris will deliver more in that range with Cunningham out, so I'm still happy to add Harris in a lot of standard leagues today. He might not get to 100% owned until he delivers a better fantasy performance, but he's a possible standard league streaming asset for as long as Cunningham is out.
Definitely be rostering/playing Harris in deeper leagues.
Coby White: Back-to-Back Big Games
White has surged to 84% owned after sitting around 74% two days ago.
White has started to deliver more for the Hornets, after not producing as much as he had in his time with the Bulls earlier this year. White has 27 and 24 points over the past two contests, and scored 18 points in the game before that.
He has 10 assists, 10 rebounds, one steal and two blocks over those three games. White has come off the bench for all three of those contests, playing 23, 20 and 26 minutes.
White was probably a bit overrated in fantasy leagues because of what he did earlier this season, and in the past. He can be a good fantasy asset on his scoring alone, and if he plays enough, he can tack on enough stats to be a good fantasy asset.
He's definitely worth owning/utilizing in deeper fantasy leagues, and he's a standard league streamer for the time being. You could hold him in standard leagues until his production falls off too.
Ace Bailey: Coming Off Monster Outing
Bailey is up over 10% from yesterday, going from about 57% to nearly 68% right now.
Bailey recently missed a game, but has played in the past two contests for the Jazz. On Wednesday, Bailey posted 17 points, two rebounds and assists and one block over about 25 minutes of action. He erupted for 33 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block over 34 minutes on Thursday night.
That was probably the best performance the rookie has had across 61 games this season. I've been intrigued by what Bailey has done this season, and think he has a really bright future in the NBA.
He's worth adding and utilizing down the stretch of this season though.
Bailey is worth a roster spot in all deeper leagues right now. He could stick in those leagues the rest of the way.
He's also worth streaming in standard leagues, and holding until he's not playing or producing as much. Bailey could be a really good asset down the stretch, so take advantage of things while you can.
