Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Daniss Jenkins Headlines Top Targets for Thursday
Jenkins, Oso Ighodaro, Christian Braun and Will Riley are the pickups we dive into today.
Another day, another fantasy basketball waiver wire/streaming article to go over.
Here are the stories we did on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Daniss Jenkins: Trending Up
Jenkins has jumped about 10% over the last day, and he should increase by even more by the end of the day. He's rostered in just 15% of leagues overall right now.
Jenkins has held a steady role for the Pistons over his past four appearances, playing between 20-22 minutes. He hasn't delivered consistently, but has posted a couple nice fantasy showings.
In his last outing, Jenkins had 15 points, seven assists, two assists and rebounds and one block. He's averaging 9.8 points, 5.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 0.5 blocks over 21 minutes a game in that four-game stretch.
Another reason Jenkins is on the rise is because of who the Pistons have on their injury report. Isaiah Stewart has missed a couple games, and will miss a few more with a calf injury. The bigger injury is to Cade Cunningham, who has a back injury that will keep him out for Thursday's games.
Cunningham's injury should allow Jenkins to step into a bigger role and deliver more. So while he could be on the rise for his play of late, he might be a bigger streaming add today. Give Jenkins some consideration in deeper leagues for sure, but there's probably better options out there in standard leagues to try.
Oso Ighodaro: Coming off Double-Double
From the start of the week, Ighodaro is up about 2%. He should keep increasing throughout the day, and currently sits at 32% owned.
Ighodaro's role has increased over the past two games as well. He played 33 minutes in one and 34 in the last contest. He'd been at or below 25 minutes in the few contests before that.
In his last outing, Ighodaro delivered, tallying 16 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals. He's averaging 6.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1 steal and 0.6 blocks over 21.4 minutes a game on the season.
The Suns are also dealing with several injuries, which helps Ighodaro's cause. Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale are questionable for the team's Thursday's game, and Mark Williams and Dillon Brooks are each out. If Allen and O'Neale miss Thursday's game, Ighodaro could put up huge numbers.
I like Ighodaro as a deep-league asset, even if Allen and O'Neale are out there. If both those guys miss Thursday's game, then Ighodaro could be utilized as a standard league streaming asset, so keep an eye on the injury report and react accordingly.
Christian Braun: Back-to-Back 20-Point Outings
Braun was sitting around 71% rostered at the beginning of the week - he's up to about 82% today, so he's trending up this week.
Braun has only logged 34 games this season, and has taken a step back in his production when he's been out there. It's been a disappointing season for his fantasy owners.
The past two games, Braun has caught fire though. In the first game, he tallied 22 points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal over 27 minutes. Braun played 41 minutes in the team's last game, posting 26 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.
That kind of production is more what fantasy owners were hoping for out of Braun this season. Maybe now that he's settling in a bit, he'll be a better fantasy asset down the stretch.
Peyton Watson remains out for the Nuggets, and Aaron Gordon missed Wednesday's game, which left more for Braun. Even with Gordon probably back for the next game, I like the idea of adding Braun today.
He should already be owned in all deeper leagues, and he'll be a good standard league streaming asset for the team's next game. If he delivers again, be ready to add and hold him.
Will Riley: 21 Points in Two Straight
Riley was owned in about 24% of fantasy leagues when this week started. He's now at 32% or so.
Riley has had a couple strong stretches of play as the season has winded down. He might be at the start of another big stretch after scoring 21 points in back-to-back games.
Along with his 42 points in those games, Riley had seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. He logged 39 minutes one night and 37 the next.
The injury list in Washington is very long, leaving a ton of production unaccounted for. Riley has picked up the slack of late, and should again on Thursday.
Among the Wizards out for Thursday's game is Trae Young, and Bilal Coulibaly and Alexandre Sarr are questionable. Kyshawn George and Anthony Davis are other bigger rotation pieces for Washington that have been out.
If Sarr and Coulibaly are each out on Thursday, Riley could really shine. Even if they play, I expect good things out of Riley after what he's done the past two contests.
Consider adding him in deeper leagues regardless of who else plays, and maybe consider him in standard leagues tonight if Sarr and Coulibaly are each out.
