Wednesday Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Adds: 4 Hitters on the Rise

Looking for late-season fantasy baseball help? These four waiver wire hitters are worth a look.

Let's look at another round of fantasy baseball hitting waiver wire/streaming options!

Here's the story we did on hitters yesterday, plus Wednesday's starting pitcher streaming article.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP! The Fantasy Sports Assistant now can answer questions you have after doing team breakdowns or waiver wire analysis!

Teoscar Hernandez - Los Angeles Dodgers

Hernandez continues to rise as a fantasy asset, and is currently owned in 71.34% of leagues overall. He was close to 60% earlier this month.

He is riding a nine-game hitting streak right now. Hernandez has two homers, three doubles and a triple among his 16 total knocks in that span. He's also posted 12 RBIs, five runs scored, two stolen bases and six walks and strikeouts in that stretch.

It's mostly been a disappointing season for Hernandez, but he's catching fire at a perfect time for fantasy owners. He's up to a .266 average and .333 on-base percentage over 109 contests and 426 plate appearances this season. Hernandez has 17 doubles, 13 homers, two triples, 102 total hits, 56 RBIs and runs scored, 37 walks, four stolen bases and 115 strikeouts as well.

The outfielder is worth more fantasy ownership/utilization while his bat is hot. Hernandez could stick in leagues for the remainder of the season, so if you need outfield help, I'd heavily consider adding him. He's definitely worth roster spots in deeper leagues, and right now, he's also a very good standard league option.

Shea Langeliers - Athletics

Langeliers is getting re-added in fantasy leagues as he now has a chance to return to the field this season. He's sitting at 59.76% owned at the moment.

Most people, including me, expected him to be out for the remainder of the season after tearing his meniscus in his right knee back on July 24. Well, he's nearing a return and is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment soon. If he gets through that OK, he is expected to serve as the team's designated hitter down the stretch of the season.

It was a bummer when he got hurt, as he was excelling at the plate this season. Langeliers has a .263 average and .332 OBP over 93 games and 416 plate appearances. He has 51 RBIs, 55 runs scored, 34 walks, two stolen bases and 96 strikeouts as well. Across his 99 total hits, Langeliers has 23 home runs and 19 doubles.

The catcher is worth re-adding in most leagues, just in case he returns to the big leagues and delivers big down the stretch. If you can stash him at the end of your bench, I'd be all over the idea of adding him, especially if you need some help at catcher.

Don't make the move if you cannot afford to stash a player, because it might be a bit before he's playing big league games again, and it's the fantasy playoffs, so owners cannot afford to have players not active. Those on byes this week could get a major boost by adding Langeliers.

TJ Rumfield - Colorado Rockies

Rumfield is rostered in 74.23% of leagues, which is up from 66.47% three days ago and 63.54% back on September 3.

He has a 12-game hitting streak going right now, with that dating back to August 26. Rumfield has 18 hits over that stretch, plus seven RBIs, eight runs scored, 13 walks and only five strikeouts. He has three doubles, two homers and a triple among the knocks.

Rumfield has been a sneaky-good fantasy asset most of the season, as his .299 average and .390 OBP over 140 games and 569 plate appearances show. He has 67 RBIs, 62 runs scored, 66 walks and 79 strikeouts this season. Rumfield has 15 home runs, 28 doubles and three triples among his 147 total hits.

The primary first baseman is at a loaded fantasy spot, but has also delivered among the league leaders, so it's really shocking that he's not already owned in more leagues. At such a critical juncture of the season, it's an even better time to be rostering/utilizing the best fantasy hitters, and Rumfield has been just that of late. Add and utilize him in any leagues if you can.

Bryce Eldridge - San Francisco Giants

Eldridge is sitting at 35.37% owned right now. He was at 20.5% in late August, so it's been a pretty steady climb for him.

He has at least one hit in five straight games. In his six total knocks in that span, Eldridge has a home run and three doubles, plus four RBIs, three runs scored, four walks and seven strikeouts.

Eldridge has played in 100 games this season, getting 416 plate appearances so far. He's got a .265 average and .361 OBP, plus 49 RBIs, 47 runs scored, 55 walks, a stolen base and 110 strikeouts. Eldridge has 16 homers and 21 doubles among his 95 total knocks.

He's another option at first base, otherwise earning starts as the Giants' designated hitter. Eldridge has put together pretty good numbers, and is worth adding in a bunch of fantasy leagues right now. Roll with him until his bat cools off.
