4 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters to Target on Tuesday: Saggese, Gelof and More

These four hitters are producing at the plate and could provide a boost to fantasy teams down the stretch.

Let's continue looking into fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming options on Tuesday by going over some hitters here.

Here's the starting pitcher streaming article for the day.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP! The Fantasy Sports Assistant now can answer questions you have after doing team breakdowns or waiver wire analysis!

Thomas Saggese - St. Louis Cardinals

Saggese is sitting at 50.6% rostered in fantasy baseball leagues right now. He was barely owned back on September 2, so it's been a quick and steady climb for him.

He returned to the big leagues in late August, and has at least one hit in all but one game since. Saggese has a .536 average and .559 on-base percentage over that time.

He has 15 total hits over his last eight games, while also walking four times among his 34 plate appearances. Saggese has three home runs and three doubles among his hits, plus eight RBIs, 11 runs scored, two stolen bases and five strikeouts.

Saggese can play all over the field, so that ups his fantasy value some more. At the most critical juncture of the fantasy season now, it's all about rostering/utilizing the best fantasy players, and Saggese is among the top hitters of late.

You'll need to keep close tabs on him, but until his bat cools off, I'd be happy to utilize/stream him in more fantasy leagues. I really like him in deeper leagues, and believe he could even be tried in standard leagues.

Henry Bolte and Zack Gelof - Athletics

Bolte is now owned in 28.74% of leagues, after being at 21.18% back on September 6. Gelof sits at 68.05%, after being owned in just 47.75% of leagues on September 4.

Bolte has a hit in three straight games, including a home run on Monday. He has two RBIs, three walks, three runs scored, four stolen bases and four strikeouts over that stretch.

He is hitting .275 and getting on base at a .358 clip over his 102 games and 399 plate appearances for the season. Bolte has 13 doubles, nine homers and a triple among his 96 total hits, plus 32 RBIs, 46 runs scored, 33 walks, 19 stolen bases and 109 strikeouts.

The outfielder has been producing better of late, but the strikeouts are still a bit too high, so that holds him back a bit. I like Bolte best in deeper leagues, especially with so many fantasy outfielders available, so you likely have better options out there in standard leagues.

Gelof doubled, drove in two runs, stole two bases and scored twice in Monday's game. He has a .300 average, .344 OBP, six RBIs, 11 runs scored, four stolen bases, two walks and seven strikeouts over seven games and 32 plate appearances this month. Among his nine hits, Gelof has three homers, two doubles and a triple.

Gelof sits with a .257 average and .320 OBP on the season, which spans 94 games and 365 plate appearances so far. He has 17 home runs, 15 doubles and two triples, plus 44 RBIs, 65 runs scored, 14 stolen bases, 26 walks and 91 strikeouts.

He can play all over the field as well, so he's a better fantasy asset than he might appear at first glance. Gelof has been up and down as a fantasy asset this season, but he's trending up at a great time, and is worth more fantasy ownership/usage as a result.

I like him best in deeper leagues, but the position versatility makes him a streaming option in standard leagues right now. Roll with him until he cools off a bit.

Javier Sanoja - Miami Marlins

Sanoja is rostered in 40.59% of leagues at this time. He was at just 33.15% three days ago.

Sanoja is riding an eight-game hitting streak, and has 14 knocks over that span. He's homered twice, doubled once and also tripled over that stretch, plus has five RBIs, seven runs scored, two walks and just one strikeout.

In 127 games and over 417 plate appearances on the year, Sanoja has a .292 average and .332 OBP, by far his best numbers since debuting in 2024. He has 114 total hits, including 29 doubles, eight home runs and three triples. Sanoja has 56 RBIs, 41 runs scored, 24 walks, nine stolen bases and 33 strikeouts.

He's another guy who plays all over the field, so he's a sneaky-good fantasy asset too. Sanoja is worth adding/streaming for the time being, and that could be for any leagues - he's hitting that well. He makes up for a lack of power with low strikeout totals, so he could stick as a good fantasy asset down the stretch, especially if you need a versatile defender.
