We have another fantasy basketball add and drop combined article for you here during the first week of the NBA regular season!

In time, we'll settle into separating adds and drops, but for a little while, it's best to combine these articles. Here are stories we did on Wednesday and Thursday.

Fantasy basketball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP! Explore the best in-season tool to manage lineup/start decisions including waiver pickups, projections, trade suggestions, trade value charts, rest-of-season rankings, power rankings, and tons more with Fantasy Assistant.

Adds

Dennis Schroder - Charlotte Hornets

Schroder is rostered in 23.68% of fantasy leagues right now. He sat at just 8.25% three days ago.

He is rising quickly after starting and playing 34 minutes in the team's first game. Charlotte is without a couple of guards, so the veteran Schroder has a chance at more playing time early on. He posted 19 points, six assists and four rebounds in his first game.

Schroder is a streaming option for as long as the Hornets are missing Coby White and Kon Knueppel. Schroder is a better deep-league option, but he could also be considered in standard leagues if you have an open roster spot due to an injury.

Keep close tabs on things, as Schroder will likely fall into a reserve role when the Hornets are healthier.

Bilal Coulibaly - Washington Wizards

Coulibaly is owned in 19.31% of leagues at the moment, which is up from 9.24% two days ago.

He started and played nearly 29 minutes in the team's season-opening win over Milwaukee. Coulibaly tallied 11 points, four steals, two blocks and rebounds and one assist while on the court.

Coulibaly was expected to be a reserve this season after the team drafted AJ Dybantsa, but the rookie missed the first game and is set to miss at least one more. So Coulibaly is another streaming option.

He too is a better deep-league option, but based on what he did in the first game, he could be considered for standard leagues too.

Brook Lopez - Los Angeles Clippers

Lopez is currently rostered in 32.71% of leagues - he was at 26.73% two days ago.

Lopez came off the bench in the team's first game, but he played 27 minutes and delivered a big fantasy showing. He posted 17 points, 11 rebounds and one block, assist and steal.

He's not normally a double-double threat, despite his height and build, but he's capable of those outings here and there. The bigger deal was his hot shooting and minutes played.

If he sticks in a reserve role, it will be tough for Lopez to deliver consistent fantasy results. That makes him a better deep-league option, unless he eventually gets starts and consistent minutes. He's a big man to keep tabs on.

Drops

Cameron Johnson - Denver Nuggets

Johnson sits at 53.89% owned right now. He was at 56.15% just yesterday.

He played 11 minutes in the team's first game and didn't return after suffering an ankle injury. Johnson tallied five points, two rebounds and an assist while on the court.

Johnson is an oft-injured player, and his 2026-27 season has gotten off to a poor start. He hasn't played over 58 games in any of the past four years.

He can be a decent fantasy asset when healthy, but his injury woes are annoying to fantasy owners, and it makes him a better deep-league option. Johnson is worth streaming in standard leagues when he's playing consistently and is in a groove, but we aren't at that point now, so skip Johnson until he proves himself.

Jaylon Tyson - Cleveland Cavaliers

Tyson is rostered in 25.55% of leagues right now, after being at 28.39% yesterday.

He came off the bench and logged about 24 minutes of playing time, which is enough to be a decent fantasy asset. However, Tyson tallied just three points on 1-of-6 shooting. He added six rebounds, two blocks and assists and one steal to make up for a poor shooting night.

Tyson is another deep-league option, and he'll be an up-and-down fantasy asset if he's always coming off the bench. Better days are ahead, but I understand dropping him after just one game, especially with other players performing better to start the year.

Keep tabs on Tyson, but don't ever expect him to be a very consistent option for you.

Aday Mara - Oklahoma City Thunder

Mara is owned in 32.71% of leagues right now. He was at 34.14% when the regular season opened.

The 7-foot-2 center has come off the bench in both OKC games so far, and appears to be settling into a role. He logged 11 minutes, 43 seconds in the opener, then 12 minutes, 41 seconds in Thursday's game.

He has nine points, five rebounds, two blocks and one assist and steal combined so far. That's just not enough to warrant holding him in most redraft leagues right now.

I like his upside, so he's a better option in dynasty leagues and hopefully will eventually become a fantasy force. Right now though, he's not much of an asset in this reserve role.

That could change if Isaiah Hartenstein, Jaylin Williams or Chet Holmgren were to miss extended time, so don't write him completely off.
