Week 9 Fantasy WR Start/Sit Advice: Eight Players to Consider, Including Diggs and McConkey
Several wide receivers have intriguing matchups in Week 9, but which ones should you actually trust in your fantasy football lineups?
Let's finish off the Week 9 fantasy football start/sit series by looking into some wide receivers!
We've gone over quarterbacks, running backs and tight ends already in separate stories. We will look at starting percentages to determine several wideouts worth discussing here, so let's jump right into things!

Should You Start Stefon Diggs?
Diggs is owned in all fantasy leagues, but is starting in just 64% of those.
He is the most prominent wideout in Washington after the injury to Terry McLaurin, but others have stepped up in his absence. Diggs had 38 yards and a score across three receptions and six targets in Week 8.
He's projected for 12.53 PPR points against the Rams in Week 9. Los Angeles is a pretty tough fantasy matchup, but in a game where Washington could throw a lot to keep up, I like Diggs' outlook.
Diggs ranks 21st for me in my Week 9 fantasy WR rankings. I see him as a pretty good option in all leagues, but as a more confident starting option in deeper leagues. He's worth considering in a flex spot in standard leagues.

Should You Start Malik Washington?
Washington is owned in roughly 70% of fantasy leagues, and is starting in just 31% of those.
He's had some solid fantasy outings this season, but scored for the first time in Week 8. Washington has scored in double figures in four of his seven appearances, so he's been a decent fantasy option.
His Week 9 matchup against the Lions is super favorable, although Detroit has been better of late. Washington is projected for 12.22 PPR points in the matchup.
Washington got the last spot in my rankings, so again, we have a receiver who is a better deep-league starting option, but who is also worth considering in some standard leagues. The favorable matchup should ease any concerns you have if you need to start Washington in any leagues this week.
Should You Start Josh Downs?
Downs is rostered in 76% of leagues and is starting in just 20% of those.
It's been an underwhelming season for Downs, and he recently requested a trade out of Indy. He had one of his better showings in Week 8, although a touchdown really helped his fantasy score.
His Week 9 matchup against the Cowboys is pretty favorable. Downs is projected for 12.16 PPR points in that contest.
I don't have him ranked in my top-30 wideouts, and I actually have his teammate Keenan Allen ranked at No. 29. I still think Downs could score several fantasy points in this contest, so he's not a bad fantasy option. I like him best in deeper leagues, and would do my best to avoid him in standard leagues, although he's a streaming option in a pinch.
Should You Start Ladd McConkey?
McConkey is rostered in 96% of leagues, but he's only starting in 54% of those.
Like the Chargers overall, McConkey's fantasy season has been underwhelming. He had one of his better showings in Week 8, when he posted four receptions for 86 yards across six targets.
He has a very favorable matchup coming against the Texans in Week 9. McConkey is projected for 11.25 PPR points.
I have McConkey ranked 24th this week, so I'm a bit higher on him than most. I like his matchup, and after what he did last week, he's a more confident starting option. I like starting McConkey in deeper leagues, and think he's startable in a lot of standard leagues as well.
Should You Start Jaylen Waddle?
Waddle is rostered in 97% of leagues, but is starting in just 53% of those.
He hasn't done as much as expected in his first season with Denver, but he is coming off one of his better showings. Waddle only had 39 yards and three receptions across six targets, but he scored a touchdown (just his second of the season).
He's projected for 11.2 PPR points against the Panthers, who are a below-average matchup on paper. The game should stay close, so Waddle's outlook is solid.
Waddle isn't in my top-30 fantasy wideouts for Week 9, but he's certainly a starting option in a good number of leagues. I like him best in deeper leagues, but for teams lacking wideouts, he could be an option in standard leagues too.
Should You Start Jalen Coker?
Coker is owned in all leagues, but is starting in just 60% of those.
A touchdown saved an otherwise down showing for him in Week 8. Coker had a couple big fantasy outings to kick off the season, but then has just two games in double figures since.
His matchup against Denver is tough, so it's a below-average outlook for him. Coker is set for 10.93 PPR fantasy points.
Coker is ranked 22nd for me this week, so I'm higher on him than the projections are. He is a more confident starting option in deeper leagues, but can still be tried in a good number of standard leagues if you need some starters.
Should You Start D.J. Moore?
Moore has a shoulder injury he's working through, which complicates his start/sit decision. He's owned in all leagues, but is starting in just 59% of those.
He got back on the field last week, and immediately delivered big, catching four of his seven targets for 82 yards and a touchdown. He has three big showings this season, despite playing in just five games - he got injured in two of those, so he's delivered when he's played full games.
Moore has a brutal matchup coming against the Vikings in Week 9. He's projected for 10.64 PPR points at the moment, but that could improve if he's cleared with no restrictions.
I ranked him 20th, but that's if he is cleared and isn't on a snap count limit. He's the top pass catcher for Buffalo and should be starting in most fantasy leagues for any games he's healthy at this point.
Should You Start Denzel Boston?
Boston is down to 92% rostered now. He's starting in only 43% of leagues at the moment.
He's had some solid fantasy outings this season, but has failed to reach double digits in three straight games. Boston just missed last week after hauling in six of his 11 targets for 37 yards.
I liked his usage last week, and think he's set up pretty well for Week 9. Boston is projected for 10.6 PPR points against the Saints, who are a slightly below-average matchup on paper.
Boston ranks 27th for me among wideouts, so I see him as a standard league flex-level option still. He's definitely worth deep-league starts. Depending on your other options though, Boston could be startable in standard leagues.
