A.J. Ewing - New York Mets

Ewing has risen 4.54% and now sits at 38.89% rostered overall.

Ewing has five hits over his past three contests. He has two RBIs, five runs scored, three walks and stolen bases and two strikeouts in that short span.

The rookie has played in 68 games so far, getting 275 plate appearances. Ewing has a .273 batting average and .344 on-base percentage. He has 27 RBIs, 32 runs scored, 14 stolen bases, 27 walks and 72 strikeouts. Among his 66 total hits, Ewing has 12 doubles, seven home runs and a triple.

The primary outfielder has also appeared three times at second base - if he gains eligibility there too, his fantasy value would rise a bit. Right now, he's a pretty solid deep-league fantasy asset.

Add and utilize him when his bat is hot, like it is now. He's been a standard league option at times too, so be willing to stream him if he keeps hitting for a bit.

Willi Castro - Colorado Rockies

Castro is rostered in 42.31% of fantasy leagues right now, which is slightly up from the past several days.

He has a hit in three straight games, and two of those were home runs, so Castro is on the rise as a fantasy asset again. Castro has two RBIs, four runs scored, two walks and five strikeouts over that span.

Castro has put together close to a career season already with the Rockies. He has a .259 average and .330 OBP over 93 games and 364 plate appearances. Castro has 15 doubles and 11 home runs among his 85 total hits, plus 45 RBIs, 48 runs scored, 30 walks, seven stolen bases and 102 strikeouts.

He's played all over the diamond this season, and over his career, so see where he's eligible to play in your leagues. The more positions he's eligible at, the better his fantasy value becomes.

Castro is another good deep-league fantasy option. When he's hitting, he can be tried in standard leagues, so be ready to add him in those leagues if his bat stays hot for a while. Right now though, I only like trying him in deeper leagues.

Tommy Edman - Los Angeles Dodgers

Edman is rostered in 52.56% of leagues at the moment. He too is up a few percent from the past several days.

He went hitless on Wednesday, but had two two-hit games in a row before that. Edman had a double among the hits, plus an RBI, two runs scored and just one strikeout in those outings.

Edman has a .330 average and .403 OBP this season, but that's in just 33 games and 121 plate appearances. He has six doubles and two triples and home runs among his 35 total hits so far. Edman has 18 RBIs and runs scored, eight walks, three stolen bases and 23 strikeouts.

He too can play all over the field, so he's one to check into in terms of what positions he can play. Because he's eligible at a few spots, I like him as a deep-league fantasy asset.

If he continues to post that high of an average/OBP, Edman will work into standard leagues - he already has crept into a few. If you need a versatile defender, check into Edman's availability.

Kody Clemens - Minnesota Twins

Clemens sits at 57.26% today - he was at 50.66% just three days ago.

He has five hits over his past three ballgames. Clemens has a double and two triples among the hits, plus an RBI, three runs scored and no strikeouts.

Clemens is enjoying a career season in his first full season with Minnesota. He has played in 94 games, getting 378 plate appearances so far. Clemens has a .243 average and .301 OBP, plus 49 RBIs, 50 runs scored, 23 walks, seven stolen bases and 85 strikeouts.

He continues the theme of players who can play around the diamond. So he's another one to check into - the more spots he can play, the better a pickup he becomes.

He's a very solid deep-league fantasy option right now, and I'd urge the owners in those leagues to add Clemens if he's available. I also see some standard league appeal with Clemens, especially if you are just looking for some short-term help.
