It's time to discuss some fantasy baseball waiver wire hitting options as we hit the All-Star break.

We just went over pitchers, and will have more fantasy baseball articles before MLB regular season action resumes, so keep checking back to FantasySP!

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

Esmerlyn Valdez - Pittsburgh Pirates

Valdez continues to rise as a fantasy asset - he sits at 79.84% rostered right now.

He was red hot before the break hit, collecting six hits over the final four games. Four of those hits were homers, and he had 10 RBIs and six runs scored in that short span.

Valdez has now played in 28 games, getting 105 plate appearances. He has a .309 average and .371 on-base percentage, plus 27 RBIs, 21 runs scored, 10 walks and 38 strikeouts. He has 10 homers, six doubles and a triple among his 29 total hits.

Valdez is due to regress a bit from those numbers, but even a little regression could mean he's a really good fantasy hitter. Add him if you still can today.

Curtis Mead - Washington Nationals

Mead is up to 45.2% overall.

Mead posted four hits over the past three games he played in. He had two homers in that span, plus two RBIs and runs scored.

He has a .247 average and .341 OBP over 80 games and 296 plate appearances this season. Mead has 17 homers, 13 doubles and one triple among his 64 total hits. He also has 44 RBIs, 42 runs scored, five stolen bases, 33 walks and 55 strikeouts.

Mead gets more fantasy appeal being eligible at first, second and third base. It makes him a sneaky-good fantasy hitter, especially when he's hitting well. Mead is a good deep-league asset, and can be streamed in standard leagues if you need infield help.

JJ Bleday - Cincinnati Reds

Bleday is owned in 47.58% of leagues right now.

He had at least one hit in each of the final six games before the break. Bleday had three homers in that stretch, plus six RBIs and five runs scored.

Bleday has played in 67 games, getting 284 plate appearances. He has 11 doubles, 16 home runs and a triple among his 58 total hits, plus 43 RBIs, 35 runs scored, four stolen bases, 39 walks and 56 strikeouts.

The outfielder has been a fantasy surprise since getting into the lineup regularly for the Reds. He started red hot and was owned in most leagues, so he's been a standard league asset already, and could be coming out of the break if he stays hot. Bleday is a better deep-league asset, and could be added in more of those leagues today.

Kyle Karros - Colorado Rockies

Karros is rostered in 45.6% of fantasy leagues at this time.

He went hitless in the final game before the break, but had four hits in the two games before that. Karros had a homer among the hits, plus three RBIs and a run scored.

Karros owns a .263 average and .359 OBP over 323 plate appearances. He's played in 93 games and also has 34 RBIs, 47 runs scored, three stolen bases, 40 walks and 68 strikeouts. Karros has 73 total hits, including 18 doubles, nine homers and two triples.

The third baseman has performed much better in his second big league season, and is owned in most deeper leagues now. He's worth adding in all deeper leagues, and he could be at least a short-term option at third base (or the infield) in standard leagues, so give him some consideration at least.

Ezequiel Duran - Texas Rangers

Duran checks in at 52% rostered at the start of the All-Star break.

He went hitless in the final game before the break, but walked twice and scored a run. Over his past four games combined, Duran had four hits, including three home runs. Duran added five RBIs and four runs scored in that short span.

He has now played in 87 games this season, getting 325 plate appearances. Duran has 80 hits, including 15 doubles and 10 home runs - he's also tripled twice. He has 50 RBIs, 40 runs scored, seven stolen bases, 24 walks and 74 strikeouts as well.

Duran can play all over the field, so check into what fantasy positions he could play for you - the more, the higher his fantasy value is. He's a good deep-league fantasy asset, so consider adding him in those leagues if you can. He's a better short-term option in standard leagues, but his position versatility makes him a bit more appealing, so consider him in those leagues too.
