Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pitchers to Add Before Wednesday's Games

From emerging starters to late-inning relievers, these waiver wire options could provide a boost on Wednesday.

Let's start Wednesday by looking at some fantasy baseball pitching options on the waiver wire, or who are streaming options for the day.

Check back later for a writeup on waiver wire hitters.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

Gage Jump - Athletics

Jump has been added in 5.19% of fantasy baseball leagues as he prepares to make a start on Wednesday. He's owned in 67.64% of leagues overall now.

He will make a start against the Giants. San Fran has been a bit better of late, but is still an offense to target with streaming pitchers, especially guys the caliber of Jump.

Jump is coming off a seven-inning gem against the Angels - he did not allow a run, while giving up just one hit and three walks, and he struck out seven. Jump is 3-1 with a 2.37 earned run average over five starts and 30 1/3 innings so far, and he has 26 strikeouts along the way.

Jump is underrostered in fantasy leagues, in my opinion. He's a great streaming option for the day, and someone to hold on if he keeps pitching well.

Martin Perez - Atlanta Braves

Perez is sitting at 50% rostered after being picked up in 2.88% of leagues so far today.

He will take on the Padres today. Despite some big names in that lineup, San Diego has been a target to use streamers against this year.

Perez is coming off a good start as well - he allowed a run on six hits and two walks over six innings against the Brewers. He struck out five in that outing. Over 15 appearances (11 starts), Perez is 6-3 with a 2.78 ERA and 56 strikeouts over 68 innings.

I really like Perez as a fantasy option right now, and in this matchup, he could be utilized in all fantasy leagues.

Griffin Jax - Tampa Bay Rays

Jax is on the rise as he prepares for a Wednesday start. He's owned in roughly 47% of leagues right now.

He is slated to start against the Royals, who are another favorable streaming target.

Jax has done pretty well as a starter, especially of late, allowing two or less runs in three straight outings - he's topped out at five innings pitched in those games, and has at least four strikeouts in every outing.

Over 21 appearances (10 starts) this season, Jax has a 2-5 record, but a good 3.67 ERA over 49 innings. He's struck out 46 batters along the way.

I like the matchup, but Jax's fantasy ceiling is a bit lower if he only hits five innings again. He could still deliver an above-average fantasy score if he limits baserunners and runs, so at least consider him in deeper leagues today.

Alex Lange - Kansas City Royals

Lange is up 1.7% and sits at 29.14% rostered right now.

He is a reliever, and has been getting the save chances of late for KC. Lange started the month hot, with saves in four of his first five appearances. He then took a couple losses in a row before not earning a decision. Lange has bounced back with saves in his past two appearances.

Over 33 appearances overall, he's 0-4 with six saves and a hold - he has not blown a save. Lange has allowed 17 runs (15 earned) on 29 hits and 19 walks, while striking out 36 over 35 innings.

Lange is a decent fantasy relief option right now, even with KC not winning a ton this season. Consider him in some deeper leagues, especially if you are desperate for saves, or just a late-inning reliever.

Mitch Bratt - Arizona Diamondbacks

Bratt is set to make his MLB debut on Wednesday. He is rostered in 2.16% of leagues, and that's also how much he's risen today.

He is the team's No. 14 prospect. The 22-year-old lefty is graded as a 45-overall prospect, so pretty average. Bratt has pitched in parts of five minor league seasons, covering 424 2/3 innings.

He is 23-19 with a 3.22 ERA. Bratt has a 1.14 WHIP and 492 strikeouts in his time in the minor leagues. He had a 2.84 ERA over 44 1/3 innings at Triple-A this season, and he struck out 42 along the way.

Pratt will start against the Cardinals on Wednesday. It's a pretty solid matchup on paper, but it's always a bit risky to trust a pitcher making his MLB debut.

He's done good work in the minor leagues, so I'd at least entertain the idea of streaming him in deeper leagues today. If he pitches well and sticks in the rotation, then be ready to add Bratt in more deeper leagues, and maybe even some standard leagues down the line.

Clayton Beeter - Washington Nationals

Beeter sits at about 14% owned today and is trending up.

He was charged with a blown save in his last outing, but that was because he allowed three inherited runners to score. Beeter had saves in the two appearances he made before that.

In 23 games overall, he's 2-1 with six saves, three blown saves and three holds. Beeter has 26 strikeouts over 23 2/3 innings, while allowing nine runs on 15 hits and 16 walks.

He's just a deep-league fantasy option, but again, those desperate could get some value out of Beeter. Look into adding the Nationals' late-inning reliever.
