Best Fantasy Baseball Pitching Streamers and Pickups for Monday

From emerging starters to trending relievers, here are the pitchers worth considering before Monday's games begin.

After taking a look into some possible fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming pickups for the week, let's continue discussing more options in more traditional waiver wire/streaming stories.

Here, we'll look into some fantasy baseball pitchers to possibly add on Monday, June. 1. Check back in a bit for a writeup on hitters.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

David Sandlin - Chicago White Sox

Sandlin is up 9.72% today as he prepares for a start. He is rostered in 25.42% of leagues overall.

Sandlin is slated to start against Minnesota on Monday evening. He will oppose Joe Ryan, but already has looked good against the Twins this season.

In his MLB debut on May 27, he worked six strong innings against Minnesota. He allowed a leadoff homer, then got the next 18 batters out. Sandlin earned the win after allowing the lone run on one hit and no walks - he struck out four along the way.

After that outing, Sandlin got fantasy owner's attention. Things could be different in try No. 2 against Minnesota, but he's at least worth streaming in some deeper leagues today. I think Sandlin is even worth considering for standard leagues, so give him some consideration.

Griffin Jax - Tampa Bay Rays

Jax has been added in 2.85% of leagues, which brings his overall mark to 37.2%.

He will start against the Tigers on Monday evening. Jax has not faced them this season, but it's a pretty good matchup on paper.

Jax left his last start after being hit by a line drive, but he's been cleared to start today. He's made six straight appearances as a starter, and has a 1.71 earned run average over 21 innings pitched in those outings.

He has a bit lower fantasy ceiling as he's topped out at five innings, but the matchup is solid enough to expect big things from him today. Jax is a solid deep-league streaming option for the day, but I'd probably look elsewhere for help in standard leagues because of his limited ceiling, and coming off a shorter start.

Shane Drohan - Milwaukee Brewers

Drohan is rostered in just 6.1% of leagues after a 3.03% increase today.

Drohan will start against the Giants on Monday evening. That's a pretty good matchup on paper.

He's mostly worked as a reliever this season, but a bulk reliever, so he should be able to cover a few innings, at least. Drohan is 2-1 with a save and two holds over 11 appearances so far. In 27 1/3 innings, he's allowed 11 runs (eight earned) on 22 hits and eight walks, while also striking out 28 batters.

The matchup is good enough to try Drohan in some deeper leagues. With a lower ceiling, I'd stop short of saying he's a must-start deep-league option, and I'd try to avoid him in standard leagues, unless your options are really limited.

Clayton Beeter - Washington Nationals

Beeter is rostered in 7% of leagues right now. He's been around 4% over the past week, so he's slightly up today.

The reliever has four saves on the season, and back-to-back saves over the past two games. Beeter also has two blown saves, two holds and a 1-0 record over 15 total appearances.

Beeter has allowed four runs on seven hits and 12 walks, while striking out 15 over 15 2/3 innings.

He's trending up as a fantasy asset, but is still just a deep-league fantasy option. Washington hasn't won enough to support a fantasy closer. Beeter is one to keep tabs on, but he's just a deep-league waiver wire option in my eyes today.

Michael McGreevy - St. Louis Cardinals

McGreevy is sitting at 54% right now as he prepares for a start on Monday.

McGreevy will oppose Jacob deGrom and the Rangers on Monday evening. Texas is a solid streaming target, but his matchup against deGrom knocks McGreevy down a peg or two.

In 11 starts so far, McGreevy is 3-4 with a 2.98 ERA over 60 1/3 innings. He has allowed 20 runs on 51 hits and 15 walks. McGreevy has 43 strikeouts to his name.

His ERA is good, but there's some stats that also hold his ceiling down a bit. I like his matchup tonight, and wouldn't mind trying McGreevy in deeper leagues. He's a streaming option in standard leagues, but that depends on your other available options for the day.

Ty Madden - Detroit Tigers

Madden is slated to be activated from the injured list today. He's rostered in just 2% of fantasy leagues.

Madden will be on the mound opposite Jax tonight. Tampa Bay isn't a big-name offense, but they've been good this season, so they aren't usually one to target.

Madden has made three appearances this season, pitching in relief in each outing. He covered 11 innings in the first two games before getting just one out and leaving with an injury in his last game pitched on May 15. Madden has allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks over 11 1/3 innings so far, while striking out 12 along the way.

I don't mind considering him in some deeper leagues, but the matchup and a few other facts are holding Madden back from even being a guy to start in all deeper leagues. Keep him in mind going forward, but be a bit skeptical of him today.
