Orion Kerkering, Jacob Misiorowski and More Appear on Wednesday's Fantasy Baseball Pitcher Waiver Wire List
Looking at a few waiver wire pitchers to consider adding in fantasy baseball leagues.
Wednesday has arrived, so it's time to discuss our third set of fantasy baseball waiver wire options.
We'll kick things off with pitchers today, but not cover anyone who appeared in stories on Monday or Tuesday. Check back later for the waiver wire story on hitters.

Should You Add Orion Kerkering?
Kerkering got a 4.2% bump so far today, and is up to 21.14% overall.
The Phillies' reliever is on the rise after earning a save in his last appearance on Sunday. It was first first save of the season.
Kerkering is 5-2 with the save, four blown saves and 10 holds on the season. He's covered 28 1/3 innings, allowing 13 runs (eight earned) on 23 hits and 16 walks, while striking out 26 batters. Kerkering has a 2.54 earned run average.
Kerkering has been a late-inning reliever for Philadelphia, and might get a chance at the closer role now. Jose Alvarado served as the team's primary closer early in the season, but was suspended for 80 games. Jordan Romano then took over, but he's struggled of late and pitched in the seventh inning in the game Kerkering got the save.
One save isn't enough for me to immediately add Kerkering in all leagues though. I need to see him earn another save or two before really being on board with adding him.
He is worth adding in a few deeper leagues at the very least. Kerkering has pitched well this season and could be thrown into your lineup for a bit. If he holds on to the closer role, then just hang on to him, but if the team goes to a closer by committee, then Kerkering can be dropped. The Phillies are a good enough team where their closer is a good fantasy asset, so stashing Kerkering makes a lot of sense.
If he ends up picking up a couple more saves this week, then you can expect his own percentage to keep growing. Kerkering could be a standard league waiver option in standard leagues at this point next week, so this is something to keep a very close eye on.
We'll cover Kerkering, and the rest of the closer situations in the MLB, later this week too, so check back for that.
Should You Add Ryan Yarbrough?
Yarbrough is rostered in 30% of fantasy leagues right now.
He's a streaming option on Wednesday for his start against the Angels. He started against them on May 26, striking out seven batters over six strong innings. Yarbrough got the win after surrendering a run on two hits and a walk.
He's made seven starts over his 15 appearances for the Yankees this season. Yarbrough has a 3-1 record and 3.89 ERA over 34 2/3 innings in his starts. He's allowed 15 runs on 29 hits and 10 walks, while striking out 30 batters.
Yarbrough has had one bad start in that stretch, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over four innings against Boston on June 7. He bounced back by allowing just one run on four hits and three walks over 4 2/3 against Boston again on June 13.
The matchup against the Angels is favorable, and he already shut them down this season. That was arguably Yarbrough's best start so far.
I'm a fan of starting Yarbrough in deeper leagues today, but am not going to call him a must-start pitcher. He's an option in standard leagues too, but I also understand why a fantasy owner wouldn't want to stream him.
He could face the Reds after this, so this is a two-for-one streaming chance with Yarbrough. If he excels in today's start, I'd be more willing to start him in standard leagues against Cincy.
Should You Add Mitchell Parker?
Parker is rostered in just 19% of fantasy leagues right now.
He's another streaming option, as he'll take on the Rockies this evening. Parker has not faced Colorado this season, but it's a very favorable matchup, and isn't in Colorado, which makes it even more appealing.
Parker has made 14 starts this season, with the Nationals going 7-7 in those games. He's 4-7 with a 4.84 ERA over 74 1/3 innings. Parker has surrendered 44 runs (40 earned) on 69 hits and 31 walks, while striking out 50 batters.
He's coming off a rough start against the Marlins, who are another favorable matchup. Parker allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks in just 3 1/3 innings in that one.
Before that, Parker allowed two unearned runs on four hits and no walks over six innings against the Rangers. Parker allowed between three-seven runs in the seven outings before that.
His ERA for the season isn't great, and it knocks him down a couple pegs when discussing him as a streaming option. I love the matchup against the Rockies, but Parker is just a deep-league streaming option in my eyes.
He's not a must-start pitcher in deeper leagues today either. I just don't trust his season-long numbers enough.
This would be the time to stream him though, as his next probable start could come against a much better Padres' offense. He won't be a good fantasy option in any leagues for that contest.
Should You Add Justin Verlander?
Verlander is rostered in 26% of leagues right now.
He's coming off the injured list today and will make a start against the Guardians. Verlander hasn't faced Cleveland this season.
It will be Verlander's first start since May 18. He made 10 starts before that, with the Giants going 4-6 in those contests. Verlander is 0-3 with a 4.33 ERA over 52 innings so far.
He's allowed 27 runs (25 earned) on 52 hits and 21 walks. Verlander has struck out 41 batters along the way.
Verlander is a veteran pitcher, so he's a bit more trustworthy in his return to the mound than most guys. He's covered at least five innings in all but two starts this season, and he's topped out at 6 1/3 innings.
The veteran has allowed three or less runs in eight of his 10 starts, and has walked at least one batter in each outing. Verlander has five or more strikeouts in five appearances, but also four games with three or less punchouts.
He's not what he used to be, but Verlander can still earn you a few fantasy points. This matchup isn't that great though, so he's yet another deep-league option only in my eyes.
Feel free to stream him in deeper leagues, but he's not a must-start guy in those leagues, and I'd stay away from him in standard leagues.
Should You Add Jacob Misiorowski?
Misiorowski is way up to 82% owned now. He was below 15% just nine days ago.
He will make his second big league start on Wednesday against a dangerous Cubs' offense.
Misiorowski made his first start against the Cardinals. All he did was work five hitless innings and earn the win. Miz walked four batters, but struck out five to work out of trouble.
Control issues were the biggest issue for the flamethrower on his way to the big leagues, but the strikeout totals and big fastball are able to help him work out of trouble often.
He was removed from his first start with an injury, but he was cleared and is now ready to go for his second start. It's a great test for him, and depending on how he looks in this one, Misiorowski's own percentage will either stick near its current mark or skyrocket close to 100%.
After his first outing, I'm willing to start Misiorowski in any fantasy league today. He's not a must-start pitcher, but he's very close in my book. The Cubs are better than the Cardinals, but how could you not want to try Miz out after that first outing?
And like I said, if he excels in this start, he'll be added in all leagues, so be ready to pounce if that comes true.
