Looking at several NFL injuries that occurred on Sunday in week 12 of the regular season.

Another week of NFL action, another round of fantasy football injuries to deal with.

Let's go over some of the more notable injuries to offensive players.

Check out fantasy football injury news all season on FantasySP.

Quarterbacks

Baker Mayfield was the only quarterback to leave a game on Sunday. He left with a left arm injury, returned, and then left after chucking a deep ball on the final play of the first half.

It's being classified as a left shoulder sprain, and he will have an MRI on Monday.

With the game being lopsided at the time, it wasn't surprising to see him out for the remainder of the game, but the MRI could determine how severe the injury is, and if it will keep him out at all.

If Mayfield cannot go in a future game, it will likely be Teddy Bridgewater who gets the start. That's an obvious downgrade, and would knock the fantasy outlooks of any Bucs' offensive player.

Mayfield would be a risky fantasy starting option if he's cleared to play, as the chance of re-injury is there. That means we will likely dock him in rankings and start/sit articles for a bit.

Running Backs

There were several running backs who got injured, with the most notable fantasy player being Alvin Kamara.

He left with a knee injury in the second half of the team's game against the Falcons. The severity of the injury isn't known, so he's another one to keep tabs on as he gets his MRI results.

If Kamara cannot go, it will likely be Devin Neal powering the New Orleans backfield. No other Saints' back logged an offensive snap on Sunday, but if Kamara were out, someone would certainly get the backup snaps/touches.

With the state of the Saints' offense, adding Neal (if Kamara were out) isn't a slam dunk action. He's a worthwhile pickup in deeper leagues for sure, and would be a streaming option for standard league owners.

There's no bye weeks in week 13, so Neal probably wouldn't start in most standard leagues, if Kamara were to miss that game. There's four teams on byes in week 14, so that's when Neal could be a standard league option.

Audric Estime is another running back on the active roster. I'd guess that Taysom Hill would get a lot of the snaps/touches in the backfield, if he wouldn't lead the way, and then have Neal act as a secondary back.

So Hill might really be the better fantasy add over Neal. Hill got 10 rushing attempts on Sunday (plus threw two passes), while Neal got seven rushing attempts and caught five of his seven targets.

With those numbers in mind, both might just be deep-league fantasy options for week 13, if Kamara isn't able to suit up. We'll track the injury and report back when we know more.

Wide Receivers

Tee Higgins was the big-name wide receiver who left with an injury this week. He suffered a concussion.

The Bengals play on Thursday night, so the chances of Higgins playing in that game seem extremely low.

That means Ja'Marr Chase will really be the stud wideout for that contest, and he'll be fresh after sitting this week due to a suspension. Andrei Iosivas will stick as a decent fantasy option and WR2 for the Bengals if Higgins misses week 13.

Iosivas had 61 yards on four catches and seven targets, while rushing once for five yards. He's worth adding in deeper leagues for a week 13 start, but with every other NFL team playing, I think he will fall outside the starting line in most standard fantasy leagues.

Joe Burrow could also return for week 13, so that will boost the fantasy outlooks for every Bengals' offensive player. Check back later in the week to see which players FantasySP experts like starting.

Tight Ends

Michael Mayer suffered an ankle injury and was ruled out in game this week.

Mayer is TE2 for Las Vegas behind Brock Bowers, but after the Jakobi Meyers trade a couple weeks ago, there's a need for pass catchers, and if Mayer is out, that's one less option for the Raiders' offense.

Tre Tucker is WR1, and will be an even better option if Mayer is out for week 13. Tyler Lockett, Dont'e Thornton and Jack Bech are some other receivers who might be asked to do more if Mayer is out.

Ian Thomas played 44 snaps (56% of the team's total) after Mayer was ruled out, so he's an option too, but just in deeper leagues. Thomas had 36 yards on four catches and targets this week.
