Fantasy Football Week 11 Running Back Start/Sit: Kimani Vidal, Rachaad White, Kenneth Walker and More
Morgan breaks down some of the toughest running back start/sit decisions in Week 11.
We just took a look at some fantasy football start/sit decisions for wide receivers, and are now going to go over some decisions at the running back spot.
Also check out our quarterback start/sit decisions, and keep checking back for more start/sit content as week 11 games near.
All of the backs we are about to discuss in this article appeared in my top-30 running backs for week 11, but that doesn't mean I'd love starting each guy. Let's break it all down.

Running Backs to Start in Week 11
Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers
Vidal ranked 18th for me in my week 11 rankings.
Vidal is still the Chargers' top running back, and until Omarion Hampton is back in the picture, Vidal has a pretty good fantasy outlook. Last week, he went for 95 rushing yards and a score on 25 attempts, while adding in a 13-yard reception.
He has alternated great and below-average fantasy outings over the past six weeks, so if the trend continues, he'll drop back down this week.
Even in a tougher test against the Jaguars, I like Vidal to deliver a good fantasy score this week though, so I like starting him. Matchups really haven't dictated how he performs, and I want to take a chance on the back after what he did against a tougher defense last week.
I expect the Chargers to control this game and Vidal to deliver a big fantasy score as a result.
Woody Marks, Houston Texans
Marks was a spot behind Vidal, sitting at 19th for the week.
Marks is coming off one of his best fantasy outings of the season. He rushed for 63 yards and a score on 14 carries, while catching two of his three targets for an additional 18 yards.
He's been splitting the backfield with Nick Chubb, but maybe emerged as the true RB1 last week. Going into a favorable matchup against the Titans in week 11, I love the idea of starting Marks.
These teams have already met this season, and all Marks did was deliver his best fantasy showing of his young career. He went for 69 rushing yards and a score on 17 carries, while adding 50 receiving yards and a score on four receptions and five targets.
I debated ranking Marks way higher this week, but not knowing if the backfield will be more split again this week, the No. 19 spot is where he ended up.
Honestly, both Marks and Chubb could be good fantasy assets in week 11, but I think Marks leads the way and delivers a top-20 fantasy RB score by the end of the week. Get him in those starting lineups, regardless of what type of league you are in.
Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
White ranks 22nd for me, but I'm still in favor of starting him more often than not in week 11.
White has been the top Tampa Bay back while Bucky Irving has been out with injuries. Irving is back at practice, but is still expected to miss week 11. I'd still consider White if Irving did end up playing, but that'd just be for deep-league usage.
White hasn't taken advantage of the extra opportunities since Irving has gone out, but things could turn in his favor for his last start as RB1 for Tampa Bay.
Buffalo struggles to slow opposing backs, and in a game where Tampa Bay needs to slow a high-powered Buffalo offense, controlling the ball and clock would benefit them, so White could be a workhorse in this one.
I'd have ranked him a lot higher if not for some lackluster showings of late. This matchup is better, so I'd fire White up if he's the lead back again.
Running Backs to Sit in Week 11
Kenneth Walker, Seattle Seahawks
Walker is my 26th-ranked running back, but I'm leaning toward sitting him if I can.
Walker hasn't been in double figures as a fantasy asset since week 4. He hasn't found the end zone since week 3, and it's made him a below-average fantasy asset, despite playing for a really good offense.
He's losing work to Zach Charbonnet, who has stolen a couple touchdowns too. It's left Walker as a low-end standard league option, and most weeks, he even underwhelms in deeper leagues.
Walker is still the Seattle back I like starting, but between his lackluster outings and a brutal test against the Rams this week, I'd try to shy away from him in standard leagues if I could. LA is the toughest fantasy test for running backs.
Walker can still start in deeper leagues, but if you can skip him in standard leagues, that's what I would suggest you do, as tough as that might be.
Tyrone Tracy, New York Giants
Tracy was the final back in my top 30, and he's another back I'd skip if I could.
Tracy emerged as the lead back for the Giants in week 10, but without a trip to the end zone, his fantasy score was still underwhelming. Devin Singletary led the team's backfield in week 9, so it's not a given that Tracy will lead the way in week 11.
Throw in that the Giants' fired Brian Daboll and have an interim head coach now and things are even more up in the air. Oh, and Jaxson Dart is out and Jameis Winston will be starting, so that probably works against the Giants' running backs too.
Want more reasons to avoid Tracy? He has a brutal test against the Packers, who might be struggling on offense, but have been stellar on defense.
I get wanting to start Tracy as he's the team's lead back, but there's a lot of factors working against him this week. If I could, I would avoid starting Tracy in standard leagues.
You can fire him up in deeper leagues, but don't be surprised if his fantasy score is lacking by the end of the week.
Tyjae Spears or Tony Pollard, Tennessee Titans
Spears made my top 30 at No. 27, but both he and Pollard are guys I'd prefer to sit in standard leagues if I could.
Spears and Pollard have been splitting the Titans' backfield over the past several weeks. It's made this a fantasy football owner's nightmare, as both players being around make them both below-average options most weeks.
Playing for a poor offense doesn't help either. With the Titans usually playing catch up, both Spears and Pollard are not utilized a whole lot.
I have Spears as the top fantasy option after he got 10 touches and went for 62 total yards last week. Pollard had 68 total yards on 11 touches.
Despite Pollard having a bit better day, it's Spears who averages 1.1 more yards per carry for the season. Pollard has done more as a pass catcher, but Spears has been the more steady pass-catching performer over the past couple weeks.
They have a tough matchup against Houston in week 11, so that's a big reason why I don't like starting either back in a standard league this week. Having two backs pretty much split the workload down the middle definitely works against them too.
Sure, one of them might find the end zone and deliver an average-or-better fantasy score, but I think there's several better fantasy RB options in standard leagues, and definitely some higher upside players to consider over them at a flex spot.
Even with no Spears around the last time the Titans faced the Texans, Pollard only had 76 total yards on 17 touches. That might be each back's fantasy ceiling (if they cannot find the end zone), and split evenly, I just don't like the idea of starting either Tennessee back.
