As week 5 wraps up, let's start turning our attention a bit to week 6 and fantasy football waiver wire targets.

Here, we'll go over waiver options at tight end. Check back for writeups on quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers.

Check out fantasy football waiver wire targets all season on FantasySP.

Should You Add Darren Waller?

Waller was expected to see his playing time and usage increase in his second game of the season, and that's exactly what happened in week 5.

He played 32 offensive snaps, which was double as many as he played in week 4. Waller still only played 58.2% of the team's offensive snaps, but he went for 78 yards and a score on five catches and targets.

There's more out there for Waller as the Dolphins' offense adjusts to life without Tyreek Hill. I liked the idea of picking Waller up last week, and love the idea of adding Waller if he's still available today.

Get him on your team before it's too late. He has a tougher test against the Chargers in week 6, but with how he's looked so far, I'd still be happy to fire up Waller for next week.

Should You Add Kyle Pitts Sr.?

Pitts didn't play in week 5, as the Falcons were on a bye. He should have been added in more leagues after his week 4 showing.

Pitts had 70 yards and a score on five receptions and five targets. That was his best performance of the season to this point.

He has at least four catches and five targets in every game, so he's been pretty involved. Pitts has at least 37 yards in every game. He has the one touchdown and two games over 50 yards.

Nothing really jumps off the page with Pitts, but he's been steadily involved, which is more than a lot of fantasy tight ends can say. At a weak position overall, Pitts is a bit safer option, albeit not a high-end option every week.

I like what he's done so far this season, and see him continuing at this pace all season. Pitts gets a very tough test against the Bills on Monday night in week 6, but given the lack of other offensive weapons in Atlanta, I think he's worth an add.

Should You Add Evan Engram?

Engram still has yet to deliver a big fantasy score, but he did find the end zone on Sunday to turn in his best fantasy showing of the season.

He had 33 yards and a score on four catches and six targets in week 5. Engram had four receptions and seven targets in week 4, although he only tallied 29 yards. I at least like his involvement the past couple weeks.

Engram is a bit better fantasy asset going into week 6 than he has been the past couple weeks. He's still probably a better deep-league asset, but he's maybe a touch more trustworthy than a few of the other names we are going to get into soon.

He gets the Jets in week 6, which is a fantastic fantasy matchup for a tight end. If there were ever a week to stream Engram, this might be the best one.

Should You Add Mason Taylor?

Taylor delivered a second straight good performance, and is still pretty overlooked in my eyes.

He had nine catches for 67 yards on 12 targets in week 5. Taylor went for 65 yards on five grabs and seven targets in week 4.

He has at least six targets in each of his past three games now, and his playing time has increased over the past couple weeks.

On a Jets' team with just one proven pass catcher (Garrett Wilson), Taylor is starting to emerge as the No. 2 guy. Despite the team's struggles, it's a decent fantasy spot for Taylor, especially as the Jets look like they'll be playing from behind most weeks.

Taylor's test against the Broncos is one of the tougher fantasy tests for a tight end. With how the rookie has looked the past two weeks though, I'd have no issues firing him up in week 6.

Should You Add Theo Johnson?

Johnson only had 33 yards in week 5, but he also scored twice among his six receptions and seven targets to deliver a big fantasy score.

He had 17 yards and a score on three catches and five targets in week 4, so he and Jaxson Dart appear to have a connection building. With the absence of Malik Nabers now, there's a chance Johnson remains pretty heavily involved the rest of the season, so it makes sense to add him in fantasy leagues.

I still see him as a better deep-league asset, but he's close enough to standard league ownership to at least consider him. In weeks where less teams play, he'll be a decent streaming option.

A week 6 test against the Eagles is probably not the matchup you want to stream him in, as Philly has been one of the best in the league at slowing opposing tight ends. Keep him in mind for future weeks though.

Should You Add AJ Barner?

Barner is fantasy TE1 in week 5 going into the Monday night game. He had 53 yards and two touchdowns across seven receptions and targets.

Barner has four touchdowns over the past four games now, but week 5 was his first time over 35 receiving yards.

He's played over 80% of the team's snaps the past two weeks, which is a major positive. So far, he's been able to hold off second-round rookie Elijah Arroyo.

I don't see Barner as a long-term fantasy starting tight end, but I do at least see him as a worthwhile pickup in deeper leagues. With only two teams on byes next week, Barner won't be added in nearly as many leagues as he could have been if four or more teams were on byes.

Still, I think Barner is at least worth some adds in deeper leagues. Maybe he'll continue to find the end zone, and is starting to really connect as Sam Darnold's No. 2 or 3 options.

Should You Add David Njoku and Harold Fannin?

Njoku cannot seem to escape Fannin.

Njoku was good in week 5, catching six of his nine targets for 67 yards and a score. However, Fannin caught all four of his targets for 13 yards and a score to remain somewhat relevant.

Njoku played 96% of the team's offensive snaps, while Fannin was at 79%. So it appears as if both tight ends are going to play a ton in the absence of Cedric Tillman. That means both are waiver/streaming options moving forward.

The tight end duo has a great matchup against the Steelers in week 6. Pittsburgh has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends so far, so both guys will be quality starting options for the upcoming week.

Should You Add Jake Tonges?

Tonges was more involved back on Thursday night because the Niners were missing a couple wideouts. Unsurprisingly, he had his best fantasy outing of the season.

Tonges had 41 yards and a score on seven receptions and 11 targets. He has a touchdown in two straight games, and has 99 yards over the past two weeks.

If Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings miss another game, Tonges could be a sneaky good fantasy asset in all leagues again. If they are both back, or even one returns, Tonges is probably a better deep-league asset.

He'll have a favorable matchup against the Buccaneers in week 6. It could be Tonges' last time as the starter, as George Kittle is getting closer to returning, and could be back after this coming week.

Should You Add Cade Otton?

Otton finally delivered in week 5, catching four of his five targets for 81 yards. He had a good matchup and took advantage of it.

He has at least four targets in three of the past four games now, but wasn't targeted in the other game. Otton had just 34 yards in the first four games combined, so he'll be a low-level pickup this week.

Otton's matchup against the Niners is pretty solid for week 6, so I wouldn't mind starting him in some deeper leagues. He'll be worth watching in case this past week was the start of his breakout.

Should You Add Dalton Schultz?

Schultz went for 60 yards on five receptions and six targets in week 5. That was his best showing of the season, and he delivered in a favorable matchup.

He had at least three catches in every game coming into the week, but hadn't gone over 40 yards yet. We'll see if week 5 was the start of his breakout.

Unfortunately, he's on his bye week now, so the next time he'll play is week 7. He's one to keep in mind for a possible week 7 waiver wire pickup though.
