10-Team PPR Fantasy Football Mock Draft from 10th Position | Building a Team Around Malik Nabers and De'Von Achane
Morgan conducts his second fantasy football draft of the year, selecting 10th in a 10-team standard setup.
After what I thought was a great fantasy football mock draft to kick off the year, I'm back with another mock draft today.
Last time, I picked first, and here, I'm moving to the 10th pick in a 10-team PPR setup. The roster includes: one QB, two RB, two WR, one TE, one RB/WR/TE and seven bench slots, with no defense/special teams or kickers.

Round 1 - Malik Nabers
The early picks went about as expected, so I went with the best player available (in my eyes) and took Nabers with the final pick of round 1.
He had a brilliant rookie season and has a better fantasy outlook for his sophomore season. The only thing I'm kind of worried about is a toe injury he said he will be managing throughout the season. His fantasy ceiling was higher than anyone else available, so I had no doubt on who I wanted.
Round 2 - De'Von Achane
After getting a wideout with the first pick, I felt I needed a back here - otherwise I wouldn't get one until the top-end guys were all gone.
Achane showed some promising things in his second season, and most importantly, showed he can stay healthy. He'll be a monster part of the Dolphins' offense again, and I think Achane will put up even better numbers in 2025.
Round 3 - James Cook
I was worried about running backs being gone by this pick, and Cook was my pick and the 14th back off draft boards already.
He's likely to regress after scoring 18 touchdowns last season, but maybe a bump in total yards can help offset less scores. Cook should still be heavily involved offensively for Buffalo, so he makes for a good starting back in a 10-team setup.
Round 4 - Jaxon Smith-Njigba
I debated taking a quarterback here, but landed on JSN instead.
He'll take over as the top receiver in Seattle, and on volume alone, Smith-Njigba should be a monster fantasy asset. He gave me a little more fantasy upside over a quarterback or tight end, third running back or a receiver who isn't a top option on his team.
Round 5 - DeVonta Smith
I really didn't like the options I had available near this pick, so I went with a proven playmaker instead of taking a gamble on someone.
Smith should bounce back from an injury-riddled 2024 season and go over 1,000 yards again. He's the No. 2 option in Philly, but has proven to be a reliable fantasy asset in that role over the years, so grabbing him as a flex starter is a smart choice in my eyes.
Round 6 - Sam LaPorta
This might be a bit of a reach, but if LaPorta can bounce back from a down sophomore season, this could turn into a major draft steal.
He still could be the third pass-catching option in Detroit, but that offense is talented enough to support at least three guys. This is the first real gamble I've taken, but I see it as a good gamble to take.
Round 7 - Zay Flowers
I contemplated drafting Flowers a couple picks ago, so when he was still available at this pick, I quickly chose him.
He's the top pass catcher in Baltimore, and although he might not ever emerge as an elite fantasy wideout, I think he's a great secondary option. If Flowers did step his production up, then he or another one of my wideouts could become trade bait.
Round 8 - Kaleb Johnson
Make is 2-for-2 in drafting Johnson in mock drafts for me. That might be a trend this year.
Johnson should be in a committee with Jaylen Warren, but I'd rather take a chance on him than grab a clear backup for another team. Johnson will be able to help when my other backs have their bye weeks, or can fill in during really favorable matchups as my flex.
If Johnson ever takes off, or he becomes the lead back, then that's when this fantasy team could go from average or good to great.
Round 9 - Kyler Murray
I feel like I needed a quarterback at this point, and I was thrilled to end up with Murray.
Dual-threat QBs are the name of the game, so to not have to spend an early pick on one sets me up to be a good fantasy team if Murray stays healthy and has a good season. He has great upside as a dual-threat guy, and is a value pick, even if he goes before I got him.
Round 10 - Brock Purdy
With all my starting spots filled, I could have gone anywhere with this pick. I didn't love my options, so I went with another QB.
Purdy is a bounceback candidate, along with the rest of the Niners' offense. He has weekly starting upside, and is a good trade chip, especially if Murray works out for me.
Round 11 - Rhamondre Stevenson
I had my pick of a few veteran backs here, but decided to go with the one who has a starting role, at least for now.
It's a low-risk pick, and one I wouldn't mind dropping if Stevenson fizzles out and TreVeyon Henderson takes over. He's a good option to have if I'm dealing with injuries early in the season, and simply adds more depth to my running back room.
Round 12 - Brandon Aiyuk
I'm shooting for the stars with this Aiyuk pick. He's coming off a major injury, but should be in line for a big role when he's cleared to play again.
As long as I'm not dealing with too many injuries, I can afford to stash Aiyuk for at least a couple weeks. It's another low risk, but high reward kind of pick that could take a good team over the top.
Round 13 - Emeka Egbuka
I'm taking another gamble here and hoping a rookie stands out as the season progresses.
Egbuka might already have a starting spot locked up, and could be really involved if Chris Godwin isn't fully ready to roll at the start of the season. Even with him and Mike Evans on the field, there will be room for Egbuka to carve out a role and help often.
Should Egbuka erupt as a rookie, my fantasy team should absolutely shine.
Round 14 - Isaac Guerendo
There's not much else I needed at this point, so I decided to get the backup to the oft-injured Christian McCaffrey.
If CMC is dinged up, Guerendo would likely be the lead back for the Niners. If he stays healthy, I just drop Guerendo and use this roster spot to stream a position I need help at.
Final Thoughts
I'm not as high on this mock draft as I was my first one, but I'd still feel really good if this was my real fantasy team.
I got graded as an A+ by our mock draft tool and don't feel I have any glaring weaknesses.
I have two more-than-capable fantasy QBs, who could be weekly starting options in time. My top-two backs are good, and I have enough depth in Johnson and Stevenson to feel confident in that quartet as the season moves along. If Guerendo ever is the Niners' lead back, then it's a position of strength.
My starting wideouts of Nabers and Smith-Njigba are a fun duo, and having Smith as a third option sets me up really well all season. Flowers, Aiyuk and Egbuka give me depth, and possible trade bait depending on who is performing and who isn't.
LaPorta is my lone tight end, which should show how confident I am in him bouncing back. I can always stream another TE, or trade for one if LaPorta underwhelms again.
I'd say this team is a playoff team as constructed, and could win it all if a few players hit. For not having super big names, I'm more than pleased with the result here.
