Should You Drop These 5 Fantasy Baseball Players?

Daylen Lile - Washington Nationals

Lile is rostered in about 81% of fantasy baseball leagues right now. He was closer to 90% for the second half of May, but is trending down now.

He's gone hitless over his past two games, and has just two hits over his past six outings. Lile has four strikeouts over that span.

Lile has a .249 average and .303 on-base percentage over 59 games and 261 plate appearances this season. He has 15 doubles, seven homers and a triple among 59 total hits. Lile has 28 RBIs, 35 runs scored, four stolen bases, 19 walks and 48 strikeouts.

He showed out in 91 games in 2025, his debut MLB season. Lile hasn't been able to replicate those numbers so far in 2026, but he's still worth watching. Lile is at a stacked fantasy position, so it's surprising he hasn't been dropped in more leagues. He's worth holding in some standard leagues, but less than he's currently rostered in - keep rostering him in all deeper leagues.

Michael Wacha - Kansas City Royals

Wacha was at 94% owned before his most recent start. It ended poorly, so he's being dropped today.

He allowed six runs on eight hits and four walks over five innings. Wacha struck out five in that outing.

That was one of his worst starts of the season. He is 4-3 over his 12 starts so far, and he sports a 3.23 earned run average over 75 1/3 innings. Wacha has allowed 28 runs (27 earned) on 58 hits and 26 walks, while striking out 65 batters.

Wacha is still a pretty good fantasy asset, but he's trending toward being a better standard league streaming option. Keep holding him in all deeper leagues, but don't be afraid to move on from him in standard leagues. Treat him as a standard league streamer for the time being.

George Springer - Toronto Blue Jays

Springer is rostered in 86% of leagues right now. He was at 93% a month ago, and was owned in most leagues earlier this season.

He has a hit in three straight games. He also has three strikeouts over that span, and hasn't really produced a ton this season.

Springer has a .212 average and .289 OBP over 40 games and 175 plate appearances. He has eight doubles and five homers among his 33 total knocks, plus 14 RBIs, 16 runs scored, three stolen bases, 15 walks and 334 strikeouts.

Springer only has appeared as a designated hitter this season, but he should be eligible in the outfield from past years. He hasn't delivered a ton this season, but is a trusted veteran who could get going at any point. Feel free to move on from him in some standard leagues today, but keep tabs on him in case he breaks out moving forward.

Robbie Ray - San Francisco Giants

Ray sits at 76% rostered. He rose recently for a start, but had been over 90% up until May 19.

He allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks, but over just four innings. Ray did strike out six batters.

Ray has allowed three or more runs in four straight starts, which is a bigger reason he's trending down. He is 3-6 with a 4.45 ERA over 12 starts and 62 2/3 innings this year. Ray has allowed 35 runs (31 earned) on 57 hits and 31 walks, while striking out 59 batters.

Ray is trending down of late, and he's a better standard league streaming option right now. Keep holding him in deeper leagues, but more struggles going forward will make him droppable in those leagues too.

Chase DeLauter - Cleveland Guardians

DeLauter is owned in roughly 90% of leagues right now. He's sat around that mark for most of the past month.

He had three hits in his last game, and has seven hits over his past four games. DeLauter is still trending down in fantasy leagues.

DeLauter has a .268 average and .345 OBP over 56 games and 232 plate appearances. He has 55 total hits, including 11 doubles, seven homers and a triple. DeLauter has 32 RBIs, 22 runs scored, two stolen bases, 25 walks and 25 strikeouts as well.

DeLauter has some decent stats in his first MLB regular season, but there's been some inconsistency issues. He is a good deep-league asset, but being an outfielder, there could be better fantasy assets out there in standard leagues. Don't be afraid to move on from DeLauter if you see a better waiver wire option out there.
