Fantasy Baseball Risers: Top Hitters Over the Last Two Weeks

Yesterday, we looked at fantasy baseball hitters and pitchers who were struggling over the past couple weeks. Today, let's get into pitchers and hitters who are excelling.

Ketel Marte - Arizona Diamondbacks

Marte is heating up at the plate, and has 25 hits over the timeframe we are using. 

He has seven doubles and four home runs among the hits. Marte has 17 RBIs, 15 runs scored, five walks and just four strikeouts. 

Marte was a high-end fantasy asset at the start of the season, but started pretty slowly. He's back on the rise now, and has gained back value.

Marte is a sell-high trade candidate after his recent heat up, especially if you don't envision him remaining a high-end player the remainder of the season.

Juan Soto - New York Mets

Soto has popped a league-high seven home runs over the timeframe we are using.

He has 17 hits total in that span, with all his other hits being singles. Soto has 13 runs scored and RBIs, plus seven walks, four stolen bases and nine strikeouts.

Soto started his season slow as well, and he also dealt with an injury. He is starting to gain back value now, and is a high-end fantasy asset again.

If you have enough outfielders and have needs elsewhere, then trading Soto away could make some sense. If that's not the case, just hold Soto and hope he keeps producing big the rest of the way.

Spencer Steer - Cincinnati Reds

Steer is tied with Marte for most runs scored (15) over the timeframe we are using.

He has 16 hits, including four doubles, plus six walks. Steer has eight RBIs, a stolen base and six strikeouts over that span.

Steer is up to 65% rostered after the big two-week stretch he's had. So he's more a standard league waiver wire option than a trade asset.

He could be a trade option in deeper leagues though. He won't cost a ton, so if you need some help in the outfield or at first base, Steer could be a pretty affordable trade acquisition.

Nick Kurtz - Athletics

Kurtz is tied with Marte at 17 RBIs over the timeframe we are using.

He has 17 hits in that span, including four doubles and three home runs. Kurtz has 12 runs scored, 14 walks, a stolen base and 19 strikeouts.

Kurtz is a high-end fantasy asset, and he's delivering like one in 2026. He is one of the better fantasy players in the game, so expect to give up a lot if you want to acquire him.

If you roster Kurtz and need some help elsewhere, selling Kurtz high is an option. I'd need a king's ransom in return if I were giving him up, but it's worth considering the move in some situations.

Corbin Carroll - Arizona Diamondbacks

Carroll has a .404 average over the past couple weeks, which only trails Marte.

He has 21 knocks in that span, including four doubles and triples and two home runs. Carroll has 11 runs scored, eight RBIs, three stolen bases and 10 strikeouts in that span.

Carroll was a high-end fantasy asset coming into the season, and has delivered like one of late. You could look to sell him high, but most fantasy owners are going to ride the wave with Carroll all season.

Again, only deal him away for a big return, because that's how good of a fantasy asset that Carroll is.

Gavin Sheets - San Diego Padres

Sheets has a .385 average over the past couple weeks - that's third in the league.

Sheets has 15 hits over that span, including four home runs and one double. He has 10 RBIs and walks, eight runs scored, a stolen base and nine strikeouts.

Sheets' own percentage has shot up to 56% after his recent hot streak. So he's another waiver wire option in standard leagues, not a trade asset.

Sheets could be traded in deeper leagues, but as a first baseman and outfielder, Sheets' trade value isn't super high. I'd still look to sell Sheets high, and some could benefit from acquiring him, so that makes Sheets a fantasy option to go after.

Jake Burger - Texas Rangers

Burger has 16 hits over the past couple weeks - he also has seven walks in that span.

He has four home runs and three doubles among the hits. Burger has 11 runs scored, 15 RBIs, a stolen base and 13 strikeouts.

Burger is up to 42% rostered, so he's another waiver wire option if you want him in standard leagues. He's even an option in some deeper leagues.

He's just a trade option in deeper leagues. Selling him high is a decent idea, but don't expect a monster return. See what offers float in for him, and move him if you get a decent offer.
