Anthony Rizzo Out
Before the Chicago Cubs' home opener game was postponed, Anthony Rizzo was already not playing. Rizzo was scheduled to miss his fourth straight game with lower back tightness. The Cubs game against the Pittsburgh Pirates has been rescheduled until Tuesday.
There is a good chance that Rizzo will be held out of the lineup again tomorrow. He played through the lower back pain last week until Thursday, at which point he missed the rest of the series against Milwaukee. Rizzo has dealt with this discomfort in the past, but said this is the worst it has ever felt. The Cubs want to be cautious and make sure Rizzo doesn't miss a substantial amount of time. The cold weather in Chicago is the perfect way for him to aggravate his back even more.
Rizzo is off to a slow start this season with only 3 hits at 28 at bats. He is owned in 95% of leagues and is still considered a must start when healthy.
