Which tight ends should you start in Week 8? Here's how the top options, sleepers and streaming candidates stack up.
Let's keep ranking fantasy football players for Week 8 by going over the tight end position!
We already covered quarterbacks, and will be going over running backs and wide receivers on Thursday, so check back for those articles!
Week 8 fantasy football tight end projections are live on FantasySP! Use the start/sit tool for all your lineup decisions!
1. Trey McBride
McBride lands the No. 1 ranking again in Week 8.
He has a slightly below-average matchup, but he can be trusted in all matchups nowadays. Start him every week he's healthy with confidence.

2. Brock Bowers
Bowers is the No. 2 fantasy TE again, with a tougher test against the Jets holding him back from being No. 1.
Again, Bowers is a fantasy tight end you need to trust every week, regardless of the matchup.
Hockenson is probably a major surprise this high, but he shouldn't be.
He's been pretty good this season, and has the best possible fantasy matchup a tight end could have against Detroit, so he's primed for a monster outing.
Goedert gets a very favorable matchup against the Commanders - it's the second-best overall.
He's been a big part of the team's offense, and that should stick in Week 8, so start Goedert in all leagues.
Loveland is starting to look like the fantasy asset we expected him to be in 2026, but a brutal test against the Seahawks is next for him, so he falls to No. 5.
He should be starting in all leagues still, but expectations need to be tempered just a bit.
6. Tucker Kraft
Kraft has an above-average test coming against the Panthers on Thursday night.
I'd like to rank him higher, but he just hasn't delivered consistently enough to do that. Maybe he gets rolling in Week 8, and he should still be starting in all leagues.
7. Travis Kelce
Kelce is ranked seventh for this week as he prepares for a test with the Broncos.
Denver is an above-average matchup, so he's another solid starting option for Week 8.
8. Tyler Warren
Warren is still injured, so his status needs to be watched. If you've held him through the injury, you'll be itching to start him again.
His Week 8 matchup against the Jaguars is just below average, but nothing too daunting. Warren is a bit of a risky starting option with the injury concern, but again, his fantasy owners will mostly be starting him after a couple of weeks away.
Strange is another surprise name in the top 10 this week.
He has an above-average matchup coming against the Colts, which is most of the reason why he's ranked here. Strange has produced enough in his past few appearances to also be confident in him.
10. Hunter Henry
Henry has a stellar matchup against the Dolphins, so he could be a sneaky-good fantasy option in Week 8.
He is a standard league streaming option, and definitely needs to be starting in deeper leagues.
11. Sam LaPorta
LaPorta falls to No. 11 heading into the toughest fantasy test a TE could have against Minnesota.
I'd look elsewhere for a standard league starting TE if I could, and he could even be skippable in deeper leagues because of the matchup he has.
12. Kyle Pitts Sr.
Pitts could surprise in Week 8 as he has a favorable matchup against the Buccaneers.
Pitts has produced enough of late to try in some leagues, and maybe even standard leagues.
13. Dalton Kincaid
Kincaid is dealing with an injury, but hopefully he's good to go after the team's bye week.
He has a slightly above-average test coming against the Ravens, so he could bounce back and score a few fantasy points this week.
14. Harold Fannin
Fannin has been up and down as a fantasy performer this season. He has a below-average test coming against the Steelers.
The options only get weaker from here, so Fannin remains a deep-league option and standard league streaming asset despite a tougher test coming.
15. Pat Freiermuth
Freiermuth lands the No. 15 spot in my Week 8 TE rankings.
He has an average test coming against the Browns. Freiermuth has competition for targets at TE from teammate Darnell Washington, which knocks Freiermuth down a few pegs.
16. Mark Andrews
I'm reluctantly giving Andrews the No. 16 spot this week.
He has an above-average test coming against the Bills, but has not performed too well this season. I think he could do enough to at least finish this high by the end of the week though.
17. Mason Taylor
Taylor erupted for a big game last week and now has a chance to make it two straight as he gets a super favorable matchup against the Raiders in Week 8.
I'm skeptical of trying Taylor any higher because of his lack of production overall, plus the fact that Kenyon Sadiq is a tight end who could also deliver in this matchup.
18. Chig Okonkwo
Okonkwo got rolling a bit in his last two appearances, and now will look to make it three straight after a bye in Week 7.
The Eagles are a tougher fantasy test, so Okonkwo ranks a bit lower than I'd have liked him to.
19. Michael Mayer
The Jets might be a tougher test on tight ends, but I'm giving Mayer a top-20 TE ranking as well.
The Vegas tight end plays second fiddle to Bowers, but both could be very involved on Sunday. Mayer is worth some deep-league starts.
20. Jake Ferguson
Ferguson has completely fallen off the fantasy map, but he could turn his season around starting in Week 8.
He has an above-average matchup coming against the Cardinals, so maybe Ferguson can produce a bit and keep improving from here.
21. Cade Otton
Otton has an above-average test coming against the Falcons, so he gets a top-25 ranking as well.
Otton gets a bump with Baker Mayfield back on the field, and maybe he could surprise for any deep-league owners looking for some TE help this week.
22. AJ Barner
Barner could be a bit more involved this week if Rashid Shaheed is out.
I like his slightly above-average matchup against the Bears enough to try Barner here regardless. We'll see if he can come through with a handful of fantasy points.
23. Colby Parkinson
I'll give Parkinson the top-25 nod among Rams' tight ends.
He has a below-average test coming against the Chargers, so really outside of deeper leagues, I'd be doing my best to avoid the LA tight ends.
24. Evan Engram
Engram hasn't done very much this season, but I think the matchup could help him deliver several points in Week 8.
He has the Chiefs, who allow the fifth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends so far. Engram could also be boosted up a bit if Jaylen Waddle isn't able to play, so keep tabs on that.
25. Eli Raridon
I'm going back to that Miami matchup and trying a second New England tight end in Raridon.
He is coming off his best fantasy performance and has had a couple of decent outings over the past three weeks. Raridon could surprise in this favorable matchup, so consider him in some deeper leagues.
