Fantasy Football Week 2 Waiver Wire: 6 Running Backs to Add, Including Black and Singletary
From potential handcuffs to emerging backfield options, these RBs are worth targeting on the Week 2 waiver wire.
Let's keep going over fantasy football waiver wire options heading into Week 2 here by looking into some running backs!
Here's the waiver wire story we did on wide receivers after Week 1. Check back for more waiver wire coverage over the next couple days!

Kaelon Black - San Francisco 49ers
Black was rostered in roughly 35% of fantasy football leagues when the team opened its season on Thursday.
He led the Niners with 14 rushing attempts in a lopsided win over the Rams, gaining 65 yards along the way. Black caught his lone target for five yards.
Christian McCaffrey is the workhorse back in San Fran, but has dealt with injuries over his career, and was playing through cramping in the first game. In time, CMC might dominate the backfield workload like he has in the past, but Black is definitely one to add now just in case the Week 1 numbers continue.
Black is a better deep-league add, but those lacking RBs in standard leagues could also benefit from adding Black too. He's one to keep an eye on, and maybe stash in case McCaffrey ever sustains a long-term injury.
Tyler Allgeier - Atlanta Falcons
Allgeier is owned in 67% of leagues right now, and that should rise significantly before Week 2 kicks off.
Rookie Jeremiyah Love played in the opener, but it was Allgeier who led the backfield with 17 rushing attempts. He gained 61 yards and also caught both of his targets for an additional nine yards.
The unofficial depth chart listed Allgeier as the top back before Week 1, and that actually played out. Even if it's a split backfield as the season progresses, Allgeier could have some fantasy appeal in all leagues.
He needs to be added/rostered in all deeper leagues before Week 2 kicks off. I like the idea of adding and holding him, at least, in standard leagues too. He has some flex appeal heading into next week, and RB-desperate fantasy teams should be jumping at the chance to add Allgeier.
Devin Singletary - New York Giants
Singletary was only rostered in 2% of leagues when his first game began.
He got six rushing attempts, gaining 16 yards. The waiver wire appeal with him should come after he caught all four of his targets for 22 yards and a touchdown.
Cam Skattebo was the clear lead back for the Giants, but it was Singletary getting RB2 run, not Tyrone Tracy Jr. Skattebo played 61% of the team's offensive snaps, while Singletary was at 36% and Tracy just 3%.
Singletary is just a deep-league add going into Week 2, but fantasy owners need to keep him in mind in case Skattebo ever gets injured, as Singletary could take over the starting RB role then. In the right matchups going forward, Singletary has deep-league appeal, and maybe could even be worth trying in standard leagues in time.
George Holani - Seattle Seahawks
Holani sat at 9% rostered when the Seahawks kicked off the regular season last Wednesday.
He and rookie Jadarian Price pretty evenly split the backfield work. Holani rushed eight times for 29 yards, while failing to catch his lone target. Price rushed 10 times for 52 yards and caught both of his targets for six yards. Emanuel Wilson got two carries for three yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game.
Holani played 46% of the offensive snaps, with Price getting just one more snap than him. Wilson logged only three snaps. With Zach Charbonnet out for the first four weeks at least, it could be a pretty even backfield split between Price and Holani.
In the right matchups, that could make Holani worth starting in more fantasy leagues. He'll probably be just a deep-league asset, but if there's injuries or poor matchups elsewhere, Holani has a chance to start in a few standard leagues.
Kendre Miller - New Orleans Saints
Miller is owned in just 1% of fantasy leagues right now.
He played way more than expected in Week 1, with Alvin Kamara's absence helping in that cause. Miller got as many carries (nine) as starting RB Travis Etienne Jr. Miller rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown, while not being targeted in the passing game. Etienne gained 46 yards on his nine rushing attempts, but caught seven of his nine targets for 32 yards to still post a big PPR fantasy total.
If Kamara misses more time, Miller could be worth adding and utilizing in more fantasy leagues. The status of Kamara is key though, so Miller shouldn't be added in a ton of leagues.
I'd still be happy to scoop him up in some deeper fantasy formats, just in case Kamara misses more time. Miller is worth stashing in deeper leagues in case Etienne and/or Kamara suffers a long-term injury too.
Mike Washington Jr. - Las Vegas Raiders
Washington sits at 62% rostered right now. He rose a ton before Week 1 with Ashton Jeanty's status in question.
Jeanty played and dominated the backfield touches, getting 29 in total. Washington still got seven carries, gaining 41 yards. He wasn't targeted in the passing game.
Washington played 13 offensive snaps, which was 19% of the team's total. That could stick for the season, which gives him a little fantasy appeal. If Jeanty is around though, Washington will need the Raiders to be winning, and by a lot, to get this much work moving forward.
I don't mind stashing Washington in some deeper leagues, and that goes for the full season. I don't see a ton of value in holding him in standard leagues, unless you can afford to stash him at the end of your bench. I think your roster spot would be better utilized in another fashion though.
