Big Extensions
There were a couple big-time contract extensions handed out on Monday.
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers got a four-year extension worth $140 million. Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson got a three-year extension worth up to $75 million.
Robinson is looked at as one of the top running backs in the game, and he was rewarded like that too. Over his first three years in the league, he has racked up 3,910 rushing yards and 25 scores, plus 1,738 receiving yards and nine touchdowns across 1,003 total touches in 51 games played.
He can do it all offensively, and will be the focal point of the Falcons' offense in 2026, and the next couple seasons after that. He's currently the second player off fantasy draft boards, and in part of the conversation for the top pick.
Draft him early in 2026, and be confident that another monster fantasy season is coming. Despite the lack of a franchise QB in Atlanta, Robinson is both a redraft and dynasty stud for the next few years, at least.
Flowers has played 50 games across his first three years in the league, and is coming off his best season yet. He has 3,128 receiving yards and 14 scores, plus 174 rushing yards and two more touchdowns.
He's the top passing target in Baltimore, and he should serve that role for a couple more seasons at least. His ADP right now is 37th overall, which seems a bit underrated in my eyes.
That makes Flowers a good value pick in redraft leagues, if you get him around pick 37. I also like his dynasty outlook, especially after he locked in with Baltimore for a few more seasons.
Jets' Rookie Dealing with Injury
Rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq had a “little setback” from his offseason hernia surgery and is going to miss a little bit of time. It's not an overly concerning matter right now, and the coaching staff expects him to be ready for week 1 of the regular season.
With him being a rookie though, this training camp time is precious for a rookie to establish a connection with the team's quarterbacks, so that could mean Sadiq starts the year slowly. It's something to keep in mind, at the very least.
He's not a huge fantasy asset right now, and this injury concern won't help matters. Sadiq is currently going around pick 146, so at the end of standard redraft leagues, and most times, not at all.
Sadiq will likely be a waiver wire option for most redraft owners when the season begins, so he'll be one to keep an eye on right out of the gate - granted this injury doesn't hold him out.
Bears' Defender Out Several Weeks
Defensive back Coby Bryant is likely to miss between 8-10 weeks with a hyperextended knee, bone bruise and small fracture that he suffered on Monday. No surgery is necessary.
He was with the Seahawks when they won the Super Bowl last year, and was a big free agent addition for the Bears. It would be a blow to the team's defense if Bryant were to miss regular season games.
He was a projected starting safety alongside rookie Dillon Thieneman, so if Bryant misses time, expect opposing offenses to target the safeties early on. Elijah Hicks and Cam Lewis are some other safety options who could replace Bryant.
Again, this could affect the Bears' defense a bit, so be mindful of that and using the Bears DST in the early going, especially if Bryant misses any games.
Texans' Add Old Friend
Houston signed pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney a couple days ago. The 33-year-old played the first five years of his career in Houston.
He played 13 games for Dallas last year, and had 8.5 sacks and 41 combined tackles, so he has a little IDP value. Even if he's in a reserve role, he could produce enough to be included in some IDP leagues in 2026.
Houston's defense was already stellar, so adding another veteran just shores things up even more. The Texans DST is one to target in fantasy drafts, as they should be owned in all leagues.
Pearsall Out for the Year
San Francisco wide receiver Ricky Pearsall is indeed out for the season because of a knee injury. He will have surgery and hope to be 100% going into the 2027 season.
The worst was feared when Deebo Samuel Sr. was signed at the end of last week, and it ended up coming true. Now Samuel is slated to start alongside Mike Evans, with Christian Kirk as the other projected starting wideout.
San Fran has rookie De'Zhaun Stribling as well, plus Demarcus Robinson and Jacob Cowing, but the injury to Pearsall is definitely one that worsens the wideout room. It's especially worrisome with tight end George Kittle coming back from a serious injury too.
Expect Evans and Kittle to do most of the heavy lifting amongst the pass catchers. Samuel, Kirk or Stribling could also carve out roles now that Pearsall's spot is open. Don't draft Pearsall this season, and in dynasty leagues, you'll need to stash him all year.
