Week 9 Sunday DraftKings DFS Lineup: Kareem Hunt, Michael Pittman, Aaron Rodgers and More
Morgan puts together a DFS lineup for the week 9 Sunday afternoon games.
Fantasy football seasons busted? That doesn't mean you have to shy away from fantasy football.
Here, we'll put together a nine-player DFS lineup on DraftKings. We have a $50,000 budget and can choose players from the afternoon slate of week 9 games, so 11 contests. It skips the Sunday and Monday night games.
Let's see what we can come up with!

Quarterback - Aaron Rodgers ($5,800)
Rodgers gets the nod for me at quarterback in week 9. He has a pretty nice matchup coming against the Colts.
I expect the Colts to win this game, meaning Rodgers and the passing game will need to pass it around to try and keep up. In a good matchup, it makes sense to try Rodgers.
He's averaging 17.5 fantasy points per game, and has been at 16.8 points or more in three straight games. I could see him in the 20s for this contest.
Running Back - Chase Brown ($5,900)
Brown has been trending up over the past two weeks after a very slow start to the season. He is averaging 12.4 points per game, but has 15 and 25.5 points over the past two.
He could take on more this week with Joe Flacco injured or Jake Browning starting. Brown has a pretty nice matchup against the Bears, so that's more of the reason why I like him.
Even if Samaje Perine is stealing some work, I like Brown to go over 15 fantasy points again in this one. If he scores a time or two, 20+ points should be doable again.
Running Back - Kareem Hunt ($4,700)
Hunt looks like he will lead the Kansas City backfield with Isiah Pacheco banged up, and the Chiefs maybe not being ready to trust Brashard Smith against the Bills.
Buffalo is a great fantasy matchup for a fantasy back, so with a starter's workload, Hunt could deliver big fantasy points. He scored 17.2 points a week ago, with two touchdowns powering that score.
In what could be a high-scoring game, I liked Hunt, even if Pacheco was out there. With Hunt likely to lead the backfield, Hunt could deliver a monster fantasy score in week 9.
Wide Receiver - Michael Pittman ($5,900)
I needed to keep saving some salary for a big-name player eventually, and I was shocked to see that Pittman did that for me.
He's averaging 15.7 fantasy points per game this season, but has 20 or more in two straight contests.
He's got a fantastic matchup against the Steelers in week 9, so he could hit 20+ points again as the lead Colts' wideout.
I could have put together several lineups I liked for week 9, but I'm not sure I could have kept Pittman out of any of those lineups. He just seems like a no-brainer add every time.
Wide Receiver - Wan'Dale Robinson ($5,100)
Robinson should be one of the go-to players for the Giants' offense with Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers now out.
His matchup against the Niners is pretty solid, so that's another reason to like Robinson in week 9.
Robinson is averaging 12.8 fantasy points per game. He scored just 7.8 last week, but had 15.5 and 20.4 in the previous two games before that - I'll be expecting those kinds of marks again in week 9.
Wide Receiver - DK Metcalf ($5,500)
Metcalf is another wideout I like in that Colts, Steelers battle this weekend. So far, he's averaging 15.2 fantasy points per game.
The matchup is really good, and pairing him with Rodgers could mean a monster DFS score if they connect early and often. Metcalf has scored in double figures in all but one game so far, so there's also a good fantasy floor to be confident in. I need Metcalf to deliver one of his best fantasy showings though.
Tight End - Tyler Warren ($5,500)
I'm sticking with the Pittsburgh, Indianapolis game for my tight end pick.
Warren is averaging 13.8 fantasy points per week, and is coming off one of his down showings, and that was still a 9.3-point outing, so again there's a solid floor here. He was above 14.4 points in the four games before that.
I expect him to deliver alongside Pittman in a very favorable matchup against the Steelers. Hopefully he can find the end zone and deliver one of his best scores of the season.
Flex - Rashee Rice ($7,600)
Rice ended up being my splash pick for this week's lineup. He's averaged 24.4 fantasy points in his first two games.
The matchup against the Bills is more average, but again, I see it being a pretty high-scoring game, so I like Rice to deliver and hopefully score a time or two.
He's the clear top fantasy option among the playmakers in KC, and he's relatively cheap in DFS yet, so he was another pretty easy add to my lineup.
DST - Rams DST ($3,900)
To round out my lineup, I took the Rams' defense. Los Angeles will be facing New Orleans - enough said.
The Saints are giving Tyler Shough his first career regular season start, and the Rams' defense should shut him down and have several big plays.
LA's DST is averaging 8.9 fantasy points per game, and they could deliver a season-high score in this matchup. The Rams are at the top of my DST favorites for week 9.
Final Thoughts
I chose a lot of players from two games, but if those games end up going the way I anticipate, I should be in line for a great final score.
Pairing Rodgers and Metcalf is a good base of points to go from, while having Hunt and Rice from KC and Pittman and Warren from Indy are other good stackable duos.
As long as Brown, Robinson and the Rams' DST deliver, I really see this DFS lineup faring well.
If you think you can put together a better lineup, try your hand. Best of luck in week 9!
