As week 5 of the NFL regular season nears, let's go over the FantasySP Trade Value Chart and identify some sell-high and buy-low candidates.

We'll pick a player for each category at each position. Let's dive in!

The entire Trade Value Chart can be found on FantasySP, and is updated all regular season!

Sell-High Candidates

Daniel Jones, Ashton Jeanty, Ja'Marr Chase and Hunter Henry are the players I'd try to sell high on.

Jones is a player with a lot of uncertainty around him right now. In his NFL career, he really only had one good season coming into this year. His start to the year has some fantasy owners trying to buy low on him.

I like to base a lot of my fantasy decisions on history, and history says that Jones' play isn't going to stay as high as it was to open the year. He might have already started regressing in week 4.

If you picked Jones up early in the season, or drafted him in a bit deeper league maybe, I'd look into selling him high. I just don't trust him, or see him as more than a weekly streaming option, and his strength of schedule right now is a D (that can be found on the trade chart as well) - trade him before his value drops any more.

Jeanty has a pretty favorable schedule ahead - it's graded as a B. He's the workhorse for the Raiders and is coming off a good fantasy showing, but I just don't trust him in this offense for the long haul, so I'd look to cash in on his value now.

Look to find a more dependable back on a better offense - maybe someone who has delivered repeatedly in the past, but is off to a slower start.

You should be able to land a starting-level player in return. Maybe you are set at running back and can use Jeanty and his big name to land a receiver or tight end, or maybe even a top-end quarterback. See what kind of offers trickle in.

Chase is still a top-end player on the trade chart, but a lot of that has to do with his preseason ranking. More slow fantasy performances are only going to lessen his value in the weeks to come.

The injury to Joe Burrow has sapped away a ton of his fantasy value. Two games with Jake Browning isn't a huge sample size, but if he has another down showing in week 5, Chase could really see his value fall off.

So instead of letting that happen, I'd suggest selling him high now. On his name alone, you should still get a pretty solid return. It won't be as good of a return as it would have been when Burrow was healthy early in the season, but you still should get a good weekly starting option in return.

See what kinds of offers come in before Chase's value drops any more. Most fantasy owners, especially desperate ones, would be happy to add Chase, so it shouldn't be that hard to find a trade partner.

Henry has looked pretty good in the early going this season. He's owned in nearly every league now, and starting in a good portion of them as well.

He was most likely a waiver wire pickup early in the season, so it's possible you have a better option at tight end. Maybe your team just needs a jumpstart at a different position, so trading a tight end could help you land a good QB, RB or WR.

Henry's strength of schedule is a D, so that's a part of the reason why I'd be for selling him high. Another is that I don't see Henry remaining a top-end fantasy TE, like he has been so far. Add that all up and you have a good trade chip to play with right now.

I get not wanting to trade away a top-end performer at a weak fantasy position, but Henry is really a weekly streaming option, not a locked-in starter, so you can just replace him with the best streaming option you can find instead.

At least throw his name on the trade block and see what kinds of offers come in. If you don't like any of them, just hang on to Henry and hope his value either keeps rising, or that he remains a good weekly fantasy option.

Buy-Low Candidates

Lamar Jackson, David Montgomery, Terry McLaurin and Brock Bowers are the players I'd look into buying low on.

It's easy to guess why I have Jackson as a buy-low candidate. He's hurt right now, and could miss a couple weeks, so his fantasy value is falling - it will keep dropping until he's cleared to play again.

Jackson is still the No. 2 fantasy QB on the trade chart, which shows how elite a fantasy option he is. He's usually a top-three weekly option at the position, and should be starting every week he's active.

Most fantasy owners don't want to deal with injured players, so this is a chance to add a fantasy star at a discounted price. This kind of move probably makes the most sense if your fantasy team has some depth.

You could package a couple players for Jackson, and add a weekly starting QB for several weeks, and most importantly, the fantasy playoffs. By trading away multiple players, you open a roster spot, which can be used to stream a QB until Jackson is cleared to play again.

So unless you have a top-end fantasy QB, which honestly is maybe just Josh Allen right now, I'd look into trading for Jackson.

Montgomery dropped a whole point in his player rating after a rough go of things in week 4. He's been pretty good otherwise this season, and should remain a big part of the Lions' offense, so I'm for buying low on him.

He might be the Lions' No. 2 back, but he gets enough work every week to be a starting option in all leagues. His schedule ahead is a bit tougher, as it's graded as a D right now, but Montgomery and this offense have shown they can deliver against anyone over the years.

Montgomery won't cost an arm and a leg, but could solidify a starting spot every single week for the rest of the season. He can offer your fantasy squad some stability, and is a bit cheaper now coming off a down game, so look to add Montgomery now.

McLaurin is kind of a combination of Jackson and Montgomery, as he missed last week with an injury, so his value is trending down. There's still some uncertainty with his injury, and that should allow you to get him at an ever cheaper price.

When healthy, McLaurin is the best fantasy pass catcher the Commanders have. He really didn't do a whole lot in the three games he was active for, so this is a chance to buy low on a possible top-end fantasy wideout most weeks.

You could look to part ways with a player who has started the year hot, but is bound to fizzle out eventually. It should be a pretty cheap move to make, and the payoff could be rich.

Again, it probably makes the most sense to do this move if your team is sitting pretty right now, and can afford to take a gamble. Otherwise, it's a pretty big risk taking on an injured player. It's definitely something to consider, at the very least.

Bowers is still fantasy TE2 on the trade chart, but that has to do with his preseason ranking. He's struggled since week 1, also battling an injury since then.

It means his trade value is down, and makes it a great time to go after him. Another thing that's working against him is his strength of schedule is an F.

Bowers delivered against all levels of opposition last year, and I think he'll get back on track soon. At a position that's pretty weak overall, taking a gamble on a top-end talent like Bowers is something I'd be all for.

Look to trade an overachieving player from the first four weeks, or from a position of depth to try and land Bowers. This could be a season-altering move if he turns it back on, so I'd be thrilled to scoop him up soon.
