Tampa Bay Buccaneers' rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka is showing up all over our FantasySP start/sit tool heading into Week 3 Sunday. Frankly, I've never seen a player show up so often on one day compared to so many other guys. Fantasy owners are interested in his status and chances at an effective day, especially because Egbuka was questionable leading up to the weekend.

Reports say he will play, though, so let's dig in further and look at Egbuka and some of the names that he is being matched up against most. Since there are so many guys, we'll do this more as a rapid-fire exercise rather than expanding more on each player.

Use the FantasySP Who Should I Start? tool to compare players and help make all of your lineup decisions each week.

Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Jets

Egbuka is playing but “could have snaps limited,” throwing a monkey wrench into his start/sit status. He began the season hot, catching eight of 13 targets for 96 yards and three touchdowns. Egbuka won't score that many touchdowns moving forward, but it's good to see him making such a fantasy impact.

Last year, the Jets allowed the sixth-fewest yards per pass attempt. They got worse after coach Robert Saleh was fired mid-season, and New York has looked much worse in 2025, ranking 23rd in the same category. I am happy to target New York right now until they show something better.

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers @ Cleveland Browns

Doubs is second on the Packers in targets, receiving yards, and touchdowns while sitting third in receptions. Tight end Tucker Kraft is ahead of him in each category, so Doubs has been one of the most effective wide receivers on the team. With Jayden Reed out, Doubs' chances might even increase more. He still has just five catches for 96 yards and a touchdown, but his spot in the hierarchy looks solid.

Cleveland has a decent defense, something overshadowed by how poor they are on offense. They fell apart a bit last year, but the Browns have allowed the 10th-fewest yards per pass attempt this season. I'm not excited about testing Cleveland.

Advice: Start Egbuka over Doubs because I don't trust the latter to find consistent volume. There are still other receivers around in Green Bay, like Dontayvion Wicks and rookie Matthew Golden (and even Kraft), and the matchup isn't so nice here. Even Egbuka with an injury concern ranks higher for me.

Marvin Harrison Jr., Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers

Harrison had a tale of two games to start the season: five receptions, 71 yards, and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Saints, then two catches and 27 yards in Week 2 against the Panthers. Tight end Trey McBride has looked more like the WR1 at times, knocking down Harrison' value just a bit because that would otherwise be his role.

The 49ers allowed the eighth-fewest yards per pass attempt last season and are 12th this year so far. There is reason to expect San Francisco to be worse in 2025 because they lost a lot of names in the offseason, but there are still high-level players around, so it's best to expect them to still be at least an average unit.

Advice: Start Harrison over Egbuka because Harrison is higher in the pecking order on his team (at times) and because of Egbuka's injury worries.

Quentin Johnston, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos

Johnston has matched Egbuka early in the season with three scores, catching eight passes for 150 yards along the way. That's a great start for a player who some questioned if he would even make the roster after an uneven first few years his career. He won't score as often moving forward, but it's good to see the former first-round pick involved.

The Broncos have one of the best defenses in football, a team I'm not looking to target with anyone at any time. The Colts did well against them last week, but I'm looking at that more as a blip on the radar than a sign of things to come. Denver is likely to go back to being a stout unit, hurting the value of every Chargers' fantasy player.

Advice: Start Egbuka over Johnston because the matchup is just too far against Johnston to trust him.

Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin, Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers

On the other side of the Denver/LA matchup are Sutton and Franklin, the No. 1 and (probably) No. 2 options in the Broncos' passing game. Sutton is a top-flight receiver who is expected to lead the team almost every week. Franklin broke out and led the team in Week 2, catching eight passes for 89 yards and a touchdown (Sutton had just one reception for six yards).

The matchup here again brings down both receivers, though. The Chargers have allowed the second-fewest yards per pass attempt this season and were fourth a year ago, showing an extended stretch of dominance. I don't want to count on any passers or pass catchers when they are going against Los Angeles.

Advice: Start Egbuka over Franklin; that's the easy call. It's tough to bet against Sutton when he was so good last year and had a successful Week 1, but I'm trusting the matchup here and saying start Egbuka over Sutton, though it's a 50/50 proposition.

Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions @ Baltimore Ravens

Williams is second on the team behind Amon-Ra St. Brown in yards and touchdowns, but he falls behind both Sam LaPorta and Jahmyr Gibbs in targets and receptions. Williams is more of the big-play threat who gets less volume and more explosive plays. That's fun when it hits but sometimes less consistent in fantasy football.

Baltimore was in the middle as a pass defense last season, and they're right back in the same spot this year. The Ravens score plenty of points, so teams are often throwing on them a lot to keep up, and Baltimore has been OK trying to stop them the past few years, but they're not a top unit the way their team name sometimes suggests.

Advice: Start Williams over Egbuka, but it's super close. While I'll give the advantage to the guy without the injury concern, I also think the rookie could have the better day by soaking up more volume against a worse opponent.
